Background: Ekaterina "Katya Dobrova (Russian: Екатерина "Катя" Доброва) was born in Moscow to second class citizens during the early days of the Russian Federation. Her parents were killed in a car crash when she was six. Now an orphan, Katya, as she prefers to be called, drew the attention of the SVR, the Russian equivalent to the CIA at the age of ten. She was adopted by an agent and over the next several years she was trained to be a field agent, with specializations in psych profiling and tracking as well as marksmanship and assassination.
Over time, she became one of their best, an asset called in only when the mission was a priority. Eventually she was assigned to a specialized Black Ops group that hired mercenaries for total deniability.
Enter Grant (note: Before Ironsight took his eye.)
Grant had just gone missing from Mason's death. He had come to Russia's team as a Mercenary, honing his skills as part of his plan for revenge. Katya had been his handler and his friend, trying to help him heal from the grief of his brother's death. She got farther than she expected and it looked like Grant would let go. This was where she fell for him. But one day, perhaps as an act of cruel fate, Grant discovered one of his father's old hideouts in in Moscow. There was a picture of Mason as a child, and the rage resurfaced. His brother had been killed in the prime (relative term) of his life, and there would be hell to pay.
Grant vanished from Russia on February 14, the Day Katya was going to reveal her feelings. Since then she has never stopped looking for him.
