Jacque yawned as he sat up from his bed. Despite the ample time he was given to sleep, he had spent all but two hours working on his mine. After all, he didn't want anything to go wrong on his first day. He glanced at the clock in his hotel room. Team Rainbow's base, which was now centered in America, was quite the drive away. He would be staying there from now on, so he supposed it made sense for it to be withdrawn from society-It's not like he was complaining-but it would be hard to stay awake. He hoped one of the other operators supposedly located in the hotel could drive one of the nondescript cars that Six had provided to the base. It could offer a good chance to make important relations with a couple of the members of his team, but he would probably end up studying tactics to avoid conversation. It's not that he didn't like the members of his team, he just assumed he would get nervous and...how did the Americans say it? Chicken out, that was it. He would probably chicken out. He sighed as he laid his head on a plush pillow. Hopefully someone else would be from France. He got out of the bed, stretching afterwards. He took a brief, but effective, shower and got dressed into a grey shirt, black pants, and a jacket with a GIGN patch positioned above the heart. He positioned his glasses on the bridge of his nose, packing up his clothing into the duffel bag. However, he was quickly shocked by a loud knock at the door. Jacque glanced at the pistol positioned haphazardly on the chair beside him. He picked it up and stepped toward the door. He looked through the peephole. The curious faces of the cleaning crew greeted him back. He glanced at his watch. Merde. He shoved his weapons and mines into his duffel bags, bursting out of the room. "The room is yours. I've moved my belongings." The cleaner began muttering something in English. He was technically fluent, but he didn't make an effort to translate now. Jacque shrugged. As he entered the lobby, he realized he was the first to be downstairs. He looked around, before awkwardly settling into a seat. He was in no condition to drive, in this sleepless state. He watched the stairs and the elevator for a while. He made sure no one was watching, before pulling out one of his mines. It was a nondescript item, really. It was about the size of a dinner plate, and fitted into a slot on the back of his body armor. It had a small pressure plate. The entire thing was designed to be inconspicuous and hidden. Perhaps if one of the other operators shared his common hobby, he could show them the intricacies. He began tweaking yet again, waiting for anyone else to arrive. His jacket's GIGN patch kept most people from bothering him. Hopefully now it could help his teammates recognize him.
Ok, so I know I may seem a bit eager, but I'm just really excited. I'm gonna make an introduction post for my character, and you guys can as well only after I have approved your character. I'm gonna wait until everyone makes an intro post to go further.
Also, @Cleverbird, are you going to make a character? I just want to know.
@Winter Star12@Dusty Both accepted. Next time Winter, please place your CS in the OOC. I didn't mention it in the rules, so I understand.
@Cleverbird I never said he was defensive or offensive. Also, the abilities have to have some limits, because frankly I don't want to play someone who can easily eliminate anyone. Hence why I didn't choose something that honed in on enemies. It'd simply be too easy for the person using it.
P.S.: I realize after reading this it may sound hostile, but don't worry, it's not.
P.P.S.: Also, I liked the idea of Jacque placing his mines in entryways and windows so he could know where it was coming from.
Skills: Jacque is especially stealthy, often placing one of his mines, hiding in a safe location, waiting to activate it, and swooping in for the kill. He tends to be fast and efficient when attacking a mark, harboring no remorse, just grim determination. He prefers to use SMGs and pistols, because anything else 'slows him down'. Jacque is brilliant, and it shows. To sum up his skills, he's fast, stealthy, and brilliant.
Special Skill: Jacque can place several mines that, when stepped on, jam anyone within radius's weapons for anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds, depending on magazine capacity and bulk of the weapon. While the opponent's weapon is jammed, he can move in for the kill and quickly decimate them with a hail of bullets.
BIO: As a child, Jacque often made many small machines and knick-knacks. He was brilliant, but he got involved in the wrong things. He began selling his inventions to the highest bidder, which often ended up being a gang or robber who had a little bit of cash. However, after going to jail for a year after being caught, he joined the military, and after demonstrating his jammer and skills in a practice exercise, was recommended for team Rainbow. At first, he was not admitted and so he trained for even longer. The second time he was recommended, he was finally admitted. He's relatively young, but hopes to prove that age doesn't dictate skill.
He also wears a light body armor vest on top of the hoodie.
Nationality: French
Personality: Jacque is often antisocial and an introvert, preferring to not communicate with the other members of his team. This leads to many problems, both in combat and at base. He is known to harbor animosity towards certain operators, either because they get in his way, they commit acts that suggest they do the same, or because they simply annoy him. However, he does speak every once in a while, just to let people know when he is going to attack the target. He keeps a tally of kills on his mine-activator, which has recently increased to 67. He's not proud, per se, but wants to acknowledge the simple fact.
I'm thinking modern, just after the team went obsolete, which let's say would be in...2020, after a failed mission. So, maybe some small tech advancements have been made. @Cleverbird
