I'd be down to join, seems like a fun theme around everything!
Hi, If this is still going to be "a thing", I'd love to join in!

Max cursed himself, he should have been paying more attention. Stupid! Maybe they didn't notice and he would just have to sneak past.

"Come on out boyo, I ain't got all day, Ain't gonna hurtcha, neither, "

So much for that.

It was a woman's voice. She sounded as if she were sincere, but you could never really be sure. People were downright dangerous and Max didn't feel very trusting as of late. Max stayed where he was. It was possible they would mistake him for the local wildlife or something. He'd prefer it if he had a plan that didn't rely on pure hope, but for now, this would have to do. The other person at the church spoke up, Max didn't hear all of what he said, but he got the important part.

"Maybe it was just an animal."

"Please listen to him," He thought to himself. Max waited 5 seconds, six. He thought things were dying down until...

"Don't shoot. Oi'm a doctor an' oi nade supplies. oi followed this man 'ere in de trash 'opin' ter find food an' water. i'll 'ayle any wounds if necessary as collateral. Oi'm peaceful. oi mean naw 'arm."

Apparently Max had been followed. He really needed to work on being more careful. It was becoming an issue. Regardless, he had no choice anymore.

"Alright, I'm getting up. Don't shoot me either!"

He rose up from behind the rock slowly, hands raised above his head, and examined the whole situation. There was a man with gun at the ready but not yet primed to shoot, And a huge woman wielding a spear. Off to the side there was another woman, who Max assumed was his tail. But he only glimpsed at her because he was now focused entirely on the two weapons aimed at his general direction. He wasn't afraid for his life, but if a fight broke out, who knew how much more attention it would gather.

"Uh, Hi. I don't want any trouble."

Still here, sorry. I was pretty busy. I put my post up, and again sorry about that. Won't happen again.

Eventually as Max walked, he arrived on a street with a church on it. He knew of the church's existence, as he had passed it many times, never going in. He wasn't religious, but it just felt wrong to loot a church.

What he wasn't aware of was that the church now had occupants, and so he continued his stroll until he was close enough to realize that there were two people there working on fortifications. Unsure of their intentions, he dove (rather clumsily) behind a nearby piece of debris that was just barely large enough to hide behind. He had attempted to be stealthy about it, but the "THUNK" of his weight hitting the ground didn't help him all that much.
Somehow the port managed to be even busier than the rest of the city. As Marc pushed his way through the crowds of people coming and going, he looked at thew different ships sitting in wait. As a child he had sat and stared at the various ships for hours, obsessed with the beauty of each craft. He held this love for ships to this day. In fact, the only reason Marc hadn't taken a ship off-planet previously is the strict immigration policy on Itar III. A passport was needed to leave and they didn't come cheap. There were plenty of captains that were willing to take you aboard if you didn't have one, but those tended to be shadier characters. But... desperate times call for desperate measures so Marc was on the hunt for one of these individuals.

Max continued down the street, bypassing the occasional chunk of cement or twisted metal. He grew more and more cautious with each step, as moving out in the open like this would no doubt attract attention from any onlookers. The shadows in the alleyways and side streets were mysterious and foreboding enough to keep anybody on their toes. Even after living in the city for so long, Max wasn't entirely used to the many sounds which crept out from the streets. They scared him, but he was also very curious as to their source. It is for this reason that Max continued walking to where he thought that scream originated.

He crossed an intersection, and thought to himself that however many years ago, one looked both ways before crossing the street. He smiled, closed his eyes, and walked blindly into the middle of the street. He felt as though he could hear something behind him, but opening his eyes and turning around, he saw nothing.

Max crept through the house, flashlight darting back and forth along the walls. He had learned the hard way to always check every corner of a house for Zed before you searched it.

He heard a sound in the distance, a high pitched call. Perhaps a name of somebody - living or dead, Max didn't know. What he did know was it was never a good idea to just call out like that. The city might've looked dead but it was very much alive. Whoever did that shout was just asking for trouble. Max figured after he was finished up here, he would head in that direction and see if he could figure out what was going on over there.

Whatever, the house was clear and Max started searching for supplies. The door to this building was locked tight, always a good sign when you're looting. His haul consisted of several tin cans and a single battery. Not exactly the jackpot, but it was better than coming up empty handed.

Max shut the door behind him, hoisted his axe over his shoulder, and walked quietly down the street, curious about who was calling attention to themselves, blissfully unaware that he had just robbed somebody blind.
