Smiling, Ele looked around the house,

"Its so nice in here, did you decorate?"

Laughing so hard that she couldn't breathe, Ele nodded her head as she listened to Eric's story. Gasping and holding her stomach, she tried to calm down,

"He's tried that with me too! I swear that boy is going to end up in a lot of trouble some day!"

Wiping tears of laughter off her cheeks, Ele quickly texted Tyler,

You got Eric drunk???

Smiling as she listened, Ele nodded,

"Well he's really tall, like you, white as Wonder Bread but goddamn does he have a body! Like God decided to make Adonis but for realsies! Has made me into a car junkie, and has changed my mind somewhat about the wonders of ramen."

Laughing, Ele pulled up a selfie of the two of them and showed Eric,

"You want a man breaking someone down? We met a week and a half ago! But I can't imagine being with anyone but him. He's so strong and steady, he hasn't known me that long but he didn't run away when I told him all about the ugliness that was my childhood. Instead he worked to make me stronger so that I could be brave."

Giggling and blushing, Ele nodded,

"Yeah, I guess you could say that. If you were to look up whirlwind romance in the dictionary, there would be a picture of the two of us there."

"Sugar, I think all of you catches people off guard, no matter what your voice sounds like."

As they walked up to the house, Ele was surprised that Eric didn't actually live that far away,

"I live over on Folsom, but finding a single level like this is like a diamond in the rough!"

"I think as long as I have a phone charger I'll be okay. I just want to stay in touch with Tyler."

Ele said quietly, sliding into the back of the car. Eric had immediately put her at ease, and none of her usual defensiveness or shyness came through.

Nodding, Ele felt a rush of relief when he smiled,

"Yes please!"

She squeaked, looking back towards the sidewalk,

"Thank you so much for coming."

Making her way through the racks of clothes, Ele stayed where she could see the sidewalk, but the people on the street had to be looking into the store to see her. Her phone buzzed in her pocket and Ele looked, seeing Eric's phone number. He had pulled a car to the curb, and Ele could see the car in question. An unfamiliar man got out and walked quickly into the store, and Ele texted him,

Eric?

His reaction was to look up from his phone and look around, so Ele came from behind the clothes,

"Hi, I'm Ele."

Doing as Tyler said, Ele quickly texted Eric, unsure if he would respond.

Done. I'm hiding in Forever 21 on Stockton Street, just in case.
