Hijikata Toshizo
Name: Hijikata Toshizo (AKA Demon of the Battlefield, Wicked Shinsengumi, Wolf of Mibu etc.)
Class: Saber
Personality:Unlike his older counterpart, this Hijikata has not yet discarded his pride as a warrior. A staunch follower of the Bushido Code and the Laws of the Shinsengumi, Hijikata's honor, integrity, bravery, and resolve are of the highest caliber. In this state, he can be considered as one of the "Last Samurai" because of his skill with the sword and his unrelenting iron will. He will not retreat from battle even when confronted with imminent death. Nor will he give mercy to any who challenges him. Even as a Servant he will refuse to follow anyone who he deems unworthy. He will stay his blade if ordered once or possibly twice, but doing so repeatedly will cost Command Seals - such is his unwavering dedication to his honor.
He has a vehement distaste for his older self, believing him to have forgotten the reason he set out on the path of a swordsman in the first place. Finding the use of guns abhorrent, as it was the very thing that killed him later in life and made him experience the agony of the bullet shattering his spine. Due to this, he uses his katana Izumi no Kami Kanesada and wakizashi Horikawa Kunihiro as his main weapons, wielding both rather than his rifle.
And yet he cannot truly hate the person he turned into, seeing it as an inevitable outcome due to his own nature and responsibility. Still one can say he still yearns for the days in Kondo Isami's dojo where he trained with his dearest friend Okita and would get scolded by Kondo due to the many letters left in the dojo by his many admirers. He seeks the grail, not for himself but for Okita's health. Wishing that the same sickness that had taken his mother did not take his friend's ability to fight side by side with the others. Part of him believes that things would have ended differently if Okita was by his side all the way.
A minor trait that becomes more prominent due to being in his younger days is that his flirtatious nature is more pronounced. Making him freely flirt with females such his master, allies, or enemies as long as they are to his type.
