Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
Here's my (potential) character! :D If you're wondering about the numbers next to items and skills, they're in reference with Expanding Horizon's tier system, though all you really need to know is that the higher the number, the better! :3
Height: 5'4 Weight: 52kg Physical Age: 19 Mental Age: Still acts more like a teenager than adult. Borders on young/childish and mature. Race: Human Glamhoth, simple as can be. However her home's deep history in the ice regions of the north give her improved physical performance than your typical teen on the street. She can thermoregulate better than others too, thanks to her lineage.
Tier: Improved - certainly a capable archer, with arrows that don't technically run out. Chenoa is rather athletic, and her hunting skills are certainly nothing to laugh about. Has a tendency to trip over anything which isn't ice or snow, or otherwise flat, which makes walking long distances painful, and running in times of need much more difficult to achieve. A thickheaded personality results in poor judgement most of the time, but she gets lucky a lot. She's also a really good cook. She would be considered a tier 3 character.
Personality: Chenoa is a kind, but quiet person, which contrasts what most think at first glance. She steers away from attention and the world beyond to invest herself in books, archery practice, or cooking. She doesn't like trying a whole lot of new things, especially since she migrated south from the far north, however this apprehensive nature might simply be constituted to reluctance as a foreigner trying to learn the ways of society. She almost always looks like she's angry, however this is simply due to her masking her fear, and is rather an unwavering complexion of concentration. She aspires to do good by the world, however she can achieve it, but again is reluctant in going out of her way to assist others, often keeping to herself unless a particular opportunity arises.
Abilities, Talents, Traits, Powers: (2) Cooking - A capable cook, though few know of this secretive talent. Her dishes aren't quite as refined as others, but when you're in the wilderness, her cooking skills are a luxury. You're probably better off getting something at an inn if you're in town, though.
(3) Physical Boon - To put it bluntly, her kicks are known to break bones of men at full strength, like arms, legs, ribs, and necks. Her arm strength is much less powerful, and even using a typical compound bow is hard enough for her. She can run really fast due to her incredible leg strength, averaging 31 kilometers an hour on average in a sprint, peaking at about 37 kilometers an hour.
(2) Hunting - Chenoa's hunting prowess makes her decent in a few fields, yet all total to slightly above average. She's not great at sneaking about, and is only able to keep concealed and hidden when in a sniper's nest, not on the move. She's pretty good at crafting trapping equipment, though most of which are simple and lack variety; effective nonetheless. Her ability with a bow is very impressive, even among professional hunters, however the lack of arm strength means she can't often put this to good use outside of her personal bow. She's fairly average when it comes to everything else, able to accomplish a job but not to a great standard (i.e. her skinning needs some improvement).
Faults: (2) Tripping Hazard - Chenoa hasn't adjusted to life down south in the sense she cannot traverse rocky, bumpy or otherwise semi-difficult terrain without tripping. Though this is a constant work-in-progress and is always improving, the constant tripping in terrain others find easy puts her at a severe disadvantage when in situations where running is required. She can traverse relatively flat surfaces fine, however if rocks start cropping up at her feet things get potentially dangerous.
(3) Poor Judgement - Lets just say if someone offered Chenoa free candy, she would be tempted, no matter how sketchy. However, her attachment to her bow is the only thing she will not properly fall for, as it has been stolen in the past...
(1) Language Detachment - She speaks fluently and understands mostly what people will say, however will get tripped over larger words and her accent is fairly strong, making her pronunciation slightly off for certain words.
Items:
- The bow which makes Chenoa more than a typical archer or hunter. Sleek and silver, and made from a material which deters even steel, Dimensius is the kind of bow that was thought of as legend. With its origins dating back to the ancients, this mythical bow shoots arrows as though they were lightning - a blue light which pierces steel, skin, and bone. It supplies an infinite number of arrows, as they form with the blue magic bowstring tethered to the slender frame, the arrows themselves containing no real mass, and passing more like directed heat and light energy than arrows. Dimesius has the ability to 'charge' itself, meaning if one maintains the draw, the size and speed (and resulting force) the bow fires is increased. The problem with this, however, is it drains the wielder's stamina the longer it charges. To put this in perspective, Chenoa once maintained a charge for a solid minute, and when released she collapsed, paralyzed from the waist-down and numb throughout much of her body for ten minutes before she could walk again (the numbness didn't go away for another hour). She can maintain a draw for a maximum of five seconds before experiencing physical side-effects, beginning with fatigue (5-10 seconds), followed by numbness (10-40 seconds), which may lead to paralysis (40 seconds onward) and even a coma (draw exceeds two whole minutes). Arrows that can pierce light armours must be held for at least 5 seconds, with heavy armours requiring over 20 seconds to reach the flesh. Typical steel arrow strength (able to break skin but not light armour) must be held for three seconds. These side effects only manifest once an arrow is shot, so if she cancels her charge, no physical side effects will appear. In order to make the bow even more powerful, Chenoa needs to train physically, mentally and spiritually so to dampen the side effects and shorten draw times.
(1) Steel Hunting Knife - Just your average steel hunting knife. Good for skinning and a half-decent makeshift weapon at close-quarters, especially with her maneuverability.
(2) Fur And Banded Steel Armour - The fur keeps her warm yet the armour seeks to avoid injury. The armour consists of pauldrons, a breastplate and gauntlets, whereas the fur covers the inside of her breastplate, her legs, arms, and shoes. The armour is light, allowing maneuverability, yet doesn't cover her elbows, legs, and head, and is also relatively thin. Decent against sharper objects, but blunt weapons will be significantly more effective.
History: "History has long forgotten our bloodline." That's what her mother always told her. That she was a descendant of warriors from which saved the Glamboth people time and again. If you traced Chenoa's family history, one would find direct relations to some of their most prized heroes: saviors from dwarven invaders, wall crushers known for their formidable strength, or exorcists denying any evil which set foot upon Glamboth lands. These were the kinds of people Chenoa had stemmed from.
... And she didn't want anything to do with it!
Ever since she was young, Chenoa was very dissatisfied with her family and how they all became part of the military. She was the youngest and most certainly the most quiet - an oddity among prodigies. Never quite strong enough, never quite smart enough, and never quite nice enough, either, Chenoa came across as the weak link of her five other brothers and sisters (three brothers, two sisters). Despite the truthfulness in her weakness, her brothers and sisters stood up for their youngest sibling, encouraging the meek young girl to become something her own.
Though she took to hunting and cooking relatively well, it was ice skating, of all things, which Chenoa really shined in. Her skills on the ice and snow were unlike anything ever seen before by the Glamboth - she was a natural, creating dances upon the ice which caused a cultural spark in her people which hadn't been seen before in centuries. From all around, people would watch her dance and skate upon the ice like an angel, others competing against her and taking up the profession rather than join the military. At a time when war was what most had on their minds with the Mad King, Chenoa was a sign of what peacetime would look like for the Glamboth people; that there would be a life outside of war which could be taken to. If only things hadn't gone the way they had.
Her eldest brother and sister perished in what would be the final fight against the Mad King, and in the skirmishes that followed, one-by-one they fell. Dimensius, a bow capable of killing any foe, was handed to Chenoa by her youngest elder brother, and in his dying breaths he begged her:
Save the world.
Chenoa left home after that. She has only spent a year of her life outside of her homeland, and has vastly improved her skills, not only as an archer but also a cook and a huntress. However, she knows she's no hero. As the band of soldiers head north toward her homeland, she prays that the gods will have mercy on them: that the weapon they're searching for is real, and that she can return home to her mother and father to cry. Because she doesn't want to be a hero.
But if that staff doesn't exist... she knows she will have to.
Other: (4) Ice Skater - Though not really useful anymore, Chenoa can move better on the ice than she can on dirt. Just let her handle the cold. This has also given her some skill at dancing, though nothing major.
Ekibe listened tentatively to Tsumiki's words, word-for-word. It was a short amount of time to be hunting down three strays - it wasn't awfully common to have even a single devil go stray a week, but three? It sounded almost like an organised coup. The demi-goddess didn't like it, but would just as well beat the crap out of whoever they were up against anyways.
When she and Kenji were paired together, she offered him a smile and brief nod - a silent cheer of victory echoing in her head. Cracking her knuckles, Ekibe added: "We won't let you down, Master. Consider the bimbo as good as caught. Can't say she'll be feeling at her best, though." Confidence in her step, she followed Tsumiki out of the school building, along with the rest of the peerage. As they were dismissed, Ekibe waved Kenji over, beginning their walk towards the old church. "Come on, Kenji, lets go!" The sun had gone down and the moon had come up, the pair having left awhile ago for their trip to the old church. As nighttime set in, she felt her senses sharpen - the effects of becoming a devil reincarnate. Eyes now adjusting to the lack of light, the two followed a path along the road, the abandoned church somewhere up ahead along a side path. The quality of the road was beginning to deteriorate the further they went, with cracks and potholes lining the forest road. Thankfully, very little cars ever passed them by.
"So," Ekibe began, thinking. "This arachnid lady: do you think she's a bishop, rook, or queen?" It seemed she wanted to speculate if their target was going to be a difficult fight or not. There wasn't a whole lot to go on with just a photo, though. She assumed it was one of those three due to what she assumed an arachnid would fit best as. If she were a queen, they could be in trouble, though they would fare a lot better off it were one of the other two. Regardless, Ekibe wasn't looking forward to the confrontation. If they were lucky they'd be in and out before she could get all sticky.
Unable to distract herself with the talk of the potential upcoming battle completely, Ekibe quizzed: "Where'd you hear that there were Fallen Angels at the church, by the way?" It was a blunt question, but she wanted to know his reasoning, even if it was just a hunch. If they were lucky, they'd find something they'd been searching together for a long time:
I was thinking Thin would reply, though I suppose letting the GM do all the work would be a tad difficult on my part ;) I'll see if I can get something up in the next day or so.
Since my roleplays have dried up, I'm free for any kind of stuff that sounds good :D As such, you have my attention!
Like Skulls, here's a couple notes about moi:
-I play just about any genre in any sort of timeframe, so if you'd like something far fantasy or sci-fi, I can adapt just as well with those as I can with a typical modern setting. That said, fantasy is my specialty! -I'm a plot driver, always, be it in my characters themselves or the story around, I always try to build upon the world around me when possible. -You ask and you shall receive. Anything specific tailored to ideas you may have and I can do a pretty good job of delivering, I think. I try to "fill the gaps" when I make my characters, so I know my way around an archetype (or even trying my best at being unique, for that matter). -Speaking of archetypes, anything from the charming vixen to the shy and innocent have been at my mercy as a player. Even a tomboyish Casanova! I'm not afraid to try a new direction, either! -Pretty sure I check out all your points; keep in mind I might also be a bit slow too, hehehe!
I've already got ideas that you might be interested in, and I'm always happy to listen to any ideas you have as well ^-^ If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we can chat! :D

In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:<br><br>Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!<br><br>As you can see, <font color="purple"><span class="bb-i">that particular tactic fucking failed.</span></font><br>Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is <font color="darkblue">Chrom</font> <font color="pink">x</font> <font color="purple">Robin</font> (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: <font color="darkblue">Awakening.</font> Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?<br><br>Speaking of loonies, the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeAWfrBMa2pytnTYnxAtiphQGJU3ojDD7">Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project</a> has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.<br>	<br><br>	<br>	</div></th></tr></thead></table></div><br><img src="https://alynerd.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/tumblr_nvrmdwbdkf1ruyji8o1_1280.jpg?w=840" /><br><br><div class="bb-right"><font color="darkblue">"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?"</font><br><font color="purple">"Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."</font></div><hr class="bb-hr"><div class="table-responsive"><table class="bb-table table"><thead class="bb-thead"><tr class="bb-tr"><th class="bb-th"><font color="darkblue">"So I heard."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkvxGnlWwAEShes.jpg" /></div></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-right"><font color="purple">"There are better places<br>to take a nap than <br>on the ground, you know."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></div></th></tr></thead></table></div><div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="A Hymn For Goldilocks">A Hymn For Goldilocks [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://static.tumblr.com/b572f57912d8b5345269f9dc72e04359/yveunmd/zEwn8f4ke/tumblr_static_4fc6jqggm90kg048ok0kkw0ww_640_v2.jpg" /></div><br><br>There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.<br><br>There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! <br>Goodbye Octopi.<br><br>There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. <br><br>And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever.<br>Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.<br><br>There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms.<br>Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. <br>Another with too many dimensions.<br>Another with not enough.<br>Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn<br>to survive.<br>Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion.<br>And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution.<br>An atlas of dead-ends.<br><br>Then again, there is one exception.<br><br>There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness.<br>And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. <br>It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.<br><br>~Exurb1a</div></div></div>
