Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?
I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:
Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!
As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed. Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?
Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.
"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?" "Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."
"So I heard."
"There are better places to take a nap than on the ground, you know."
There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.
There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! And on one of them, eventually, complex life evolved and one of the species developed large brains learned things like manners and dabbing, when they looked up at the stars and wonder what they were doing here. You called them octopuses, I suppose. Gosh, they were clever, for octopuses, and one of them, several million years in, almost wrote something in ink on the seafloor, a message to its friend. And the message almost read: "Hi! How are you?" And a few millennia later, space folder back on itself and, you get the idea. Goodbye Octopi.
There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. And finally, when everything was sorted, the galaxies were arranged into perfect geometric formations, transmitting pure love, and wisdom, and birthday greetings to all species in the universe, for all time. Papercuts never happened, coke came in glass bottles, no one even remembered the word for war, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt.
And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever. Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.
There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms. Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. Another with too many dimensions. Another with not enough. Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn to survive. Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion. And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution. An atlas of dead-ends.
Then again, there is one exception.
There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness. And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.
@Phrax Also just in case you didn't know, dice rolls are done and recorded here. This makes it easier for others to see and verify the rolls so people don't cheat. Since I haven't made any rolls I haven't got a thread, but you can see Claw and Rush both have their own posts there for dicerolls c: Pretty sure there's a guide if you're stuck but I can't remember. Hope this helps! :D
The dwarf (who she admittedly hadn't seen, despite being only slightly taller than him) who addressed her caused the young woman to gasp in surprise. "Elope? Doesn't that mean...?" Apparently her head caught up with what she was talking about, because Kismet's face seemed to redden as she remembered just what that meant. Saxan, however, served to anchor the cleric back to reality before she could become corrupted, simply through his kind words and gesture.
"We saw each other yesterday, Saxan." Chuckled Kismet. She'd been stationed at Pinch Pols for a few weeks now, not a particularly long amount of time, and so didn't really know her way around. Saxan was the only real person she knew, and even then they were still at the stage of getting to know one-another. That said, he was right in the fact they hadn't spoken to one-another in a couple of days, largely due to a change in patrols. "Even so, we need to find a way to speak more. It feels like we haven't had a proper conversation in awhile!"
The noble's words caught her attention, though. With both Saxan and herself present, they could easily inform their station of the missing woman. She knew how important a noble's family was, so it seemed likely a search would be made. She only hoped her angelic guide, as well as Veldir, could guide her to finding this man's daughter. The priestess seemed much better, which was good, however Kismet kept quiet, not wanting to overwhelm the girl. Though she accepted the blessing kindly, she hoped Veldir wouldn't be too angry. Blue had a tendency of doing that. It often resulted in a broken holy amulet... @Claw2k11@rush99999
The Church of Kaher was not a place Kismet found herself particularly wanting to visit, especially when it made herself appear lesser than those of another order. However, the people there, from what she had heard, were kind and reasonable. It was easily the best place to go in order to look for directions. Not to mention, it towered over a great many other buildings...
Oddly, it seemed the crowd only began to thicken on her approach - onlookers watching or listening in on something. Though they kept their distance, it made the streets difficult to traverse, at least to a small extent. There were others headed from beyond the church towards the town square, but she found her way there, eventually. A noble passed her by, apparently in quite the sour mood - definitely not paying her any attention. As she removed her gaze from the noble her eyes fell upon a familiar red dragonborn, standing before a pristess and another noble, with a couple other faces scattered about. It was always a good day when the two got to interact. The two missed out on a lot of time talking when they first met. The new opportunity Veldir had given her made her all the more happy.
"Saxan!" Called Blue excitedly, her pace quick so to catch up with her superior. Not that she really acknowledged him as such often, anyway. "This is a surprise! It would appear we have been guided together once more." However, it was only after she had made her announcement that she realised how bad her timing was. A priestess apparently about to burst into tears, and another rather upset-looking nobleman. It made her shrink. "U-uhh... Am I interrupting something?" She whispered, the sense of awkwardness having made her meek. @Claw2k11
Dear mother... Proofreading was not one of Kismet's strong suits. She never considered herself much for reading or writing, as the opportunity for scholarship never came to her. Unlike her older brothers and sisters, Kismet didn't inherit much of her father's brains, instead finding herself far better-suited to hitting things really hard with a pickaxe. Of course, that life didn't last long. Between visions, appointments with a higher being, and the duties of a cleric, the young woman hardly found an opportunity to really explore the life of a bookworm. In fact the more she thought about it, the less choices she felt she had made for herself over the years.
Even so, she was humble by nature, not wanting to think too highly of her own position. She had been chosen, after all - gifted, as some would say. There were people out there who dreamed to live the life she had, in servitude of a noble being. It certainly gave her purpose, and she was forever thankful for that. Yet the thought didn't seem to want to leave. Break time was almost over. She folded the letter and sealed it, making sure to deposit it so the couriers of Pinch Pols could deliver. It would be quite the journey across the country for whoever was unlucky enough to be chosen for the delivery, however she didn't know the ins-and-outs of postal delivery. Kismet assumed it would be taken by one person at a time, but again, didn't really know what to think.
The day was bright and the sun warm against Kismet's noticeably lighter skin tone. Thankfully her armor protected her from the worst of the sun's harsh rays, however the warmth was still uncomfortable to her. She much preferred the cold to a sunny day. The streets of Pinch Pols, while more crowded than most towns, were less so than some cities she had been to. It made her comfortable, at least more-so than the urban environments of Combedean did. Felt a little more like home. The blacksmith, especially, brought back memories of delivery ore so he could fashion them into swords. How one did so in freezing temperatures always astounded her in her youth, and she always wanted to learn. Honestly, she still wanted to learn. Which was why she stopped by the blacksmiths most days before she went out.
They'd already spoken earlier, so Kismet didn't feel like approaching the hardworking man, though did watch him for a few moments - enough to notice his request which he had posted. Though she wanted to help, she hadn't any idea where to find the materials he needed, either. Also she was too far away to see what they were. Guilty that she couldn't help the man, she walked away with a frown on her face, dejected. Perhaps if she could win the tournament she had a chance of getting the things he needed? While a good idea on paper, unless she could fight alongside others, it was likely she wouldn't make it out alive. Supposedly the strongest in all of Combedea proper were to compete, and Blue knew she was by no means the 'strongest' in anything, let alone fighting. Besides, healing the wounds of others was what she found herself liking the most; smiles had such a beautiful sheen compared to swords, after all.
The cleric spent so much time thinking in her own mind that she lost where she was going. Before long she'd passed into the town hall, where the laborers and locals gathered to help set up the tournament arena, as well as the stands. It seemed things were going smoothly, and, while compelled to join, didn't trust herself at doing a laborers work. She had a patrol to get to, and couldn't afford too many more distractions.
The bustle of tourists and locals alike made the area a bit more difficult to navigate. Some especially heavy traffic got her all mixed around, unable to really find her way. It dawned on Kismet that she would need somewhere large to act as a reference point in order to get where she needed to go. Somewhere she could see above the other buildings easily. Something symbolic.
... Nothing came to mind, unfortunately, so she simply headed towards the church, hoping she could find some guidance from a local...
Sorry for being late! :3 Doesn't need an extensive reply, unless you'd like to add something, like an interaction between characters. Just feeling a bit tired so I cut it off there, and I'll get the duo to Lenius next post ;)

Maryvale groaned at hearing her name, rising as though she'd been summoned from the dead. In truth it was her ribs. They'd taken a nasty hit from the fall, and ached like the Nine Hells. Her leg wasn't faring any better, so she lay propped up on one arm, mentally noting Konrad's message. She had seen him many a time before now, and he was always quite talkative, once he got started. Not that it was a bad thing, as often she found their talks to be pleasant. He did like to show his admiration of her, though she often would reply humbly, stating it was only through a lot of hard work that she got to where she is today.
Well, maybe a little luck, too. As Konrad went to leave, however, Maryvale called his name. "Konrad..." Her voice, though pained, was gentle, and her deep blue eyes spoke of kindness. Her black hair was a total mess from the fight, and there were a couple visible bruises. And yet, despite the pain, she called his name and smiled. "Thank you..."
It took some incredible willpower just to get to her feet again, though once she found them she found she could walk, or more accurately, limp. Her competitor, Marcus, wasn't doing so good either. They decided to go their separate ways for now and catch up later when they could. There was no use trying to exert themselves in conversation when neither could barely walk. Some kindly soldiers helped the Dark Knight in navigating the castle, seeing as her poor sense of direction meant she could wind up anywhere if left unattended. They also gave her their shoulder when she felt her legs beginning to give out, to which she appreciated greatly. Yet as they got closer and closer to Azymn's chambers, Maryvale couldn't help but feel an impending sense of doom: That of a concerned friend.
The two soldiers bow and take their leave, Maryvale thanking them for their assistance. She still hadn't changed out of her training gear. She only hoped Azymn wouldn't be too worried. She raps three times. "Come in!" Came a familiar, refined voice. Maryvale opened the doors, revealing the elegance of Azymn's bedroom. As tall and wide as some houses, it seemed like a young girl's fantasy: a bed so large it could squeeze a dozen people, a massive wardrobe filled with dresses and other wear, a fireplace, a huge bookcase, and a carpet so soft one could easily sleep on it. Not to mention the paintings, chairs, tea table; there seemed to be a clear distinction between nobility and royalty, not that Maryvale was against Azymn having nice things. They made her happy, after all.
It was impossible to not spot the beautiful Marble Princess. She seemed ready for battle, what with her light armor glistening against the sun's rays. Yet even then she managed to portray herself as a voice of peace, gently nurturing an exotic-looking flower, humming a light tune, water pouring unto its leaves. The breeze from atop the castle was remarkably still today, barely passing by as though to play with the princess' hair. Maryvale took a step inside. "My liege."
Azymn Theme:
As soon as Azymn laid eyes on her retainer, her eyes narrowed. "I-I, uhh, we have a message from-" "What happened?"
Maryvale lowered her head in defeat instantly. "Competition. Fought Marcus. Might've broke a rib and my leg." Azymn sighed and shook her head. Maryvale almost flinched when she began walking towards her, however it seemed the princess was willing to forgive her retainer for being so reckless. The Marble Princess guided Maryvale over to her bed, where she was made to sit. "I'm not going to tell you to stop fighting, but that doesn't mean I have to like seeing you hurt, either. That Marcus really needs to take it easy. In fact, so do you." Azymn puts both hands over Maryvale's leg, concentrating immensely to produce a radiant light to heal the bruises. Thankfully she hadn't broken anything, so her healing magic helped the Dark Knight recover far more quickly. She'd still be a little sore, however. "Thankfully it's only bruises." Sighed the princess once more, standing up straight again. "What am I going to do with you, Maryvale?"
Maryvale herself looked as guilty as a puppy. "Sorry..." She trailed off, head bowed, though not for long. Azymn lifted her friend's chin with a more supportive face, offering a hand to help her up. "It is fine. I know you enjoy it, and I know you do it to protect me, so I can't say it's all bad. However you need to look out for yourself more. Try to be careful, OK?" Maryvale nodded. "Good. Would you like some tea?" "Actually, we're needed."
Azymn seemed surprised by this, eyebrows raised. She'd seen there were a lot more military exercises going on from her window, however she hadn't the opportunity to tell if it was a difference in training or something else. Without a response, Maryvale continued. Grand Marshal Lenius -- my father -- has summoned us. I believe an expedition is to take place soon. It seems likely we're going along." Azymn could only nod in understanding. "I suggest we go as soon as possible. I don't like keeping father waiting, especially for important matters. I'll need to stop by the armory, firstly."
The Marble Princess seemed lost in thought, though snapped out of her state pretty quickly. With a cautious confidence she agreed; a mask for nervousness? "Then we shall head there. I will need to collect my sword, too. It's only fair if we both look presentable." The two shared a short chuckle. There was no sense in keeping her father waiting, Maryvale thought, so the two decided to get going as soon as they could. It wouldn't take long, assuming Lenius was where Maryvale thought he was, and the armory was on the way, so it only made sense to stop there first.

I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:<br><br>Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!<br><br>As you can see, <font color="purple"><span class="bb-i">that particular tactic fucking failed.</span></font><br>Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is <font color="darkblue">Chrom</font> <font color="pink">x</font> <font color="purple">Robin</font> (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: <font color="darkblue">Awakening.</font> Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?<br><br>Speaking of loonies, the <a target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeAWfrBMa2pytnTYnxAtiphQGJU3ojDD7">Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project</a> has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.<br>	<br><br>	<br>	</div></th></tr></thead></table></div><br><img src="https://alynerd.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/tumblr_nvrmdwbdkf1ruyji8o1_1280.jpg?w=840" /><br><br><div class="bb-right"><font color="darkblue">"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?"</font><br><font color="purple">"Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."</font></div><hr class="bb-hr"><div class="table-responsive"><table class="bb-table table"><thead class="bb-thead"><tr class="bb-tr"><th class="bb-th"><font color="darkblue">"So I heard."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkvxGnlWwAEShes.jpg" /></div></th><th class="bb-th"><div class="bb-right"><font color="purple">"There are better places<br>to take a nap than <br>on the ground, you know."<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	<br>	</font></div></th></tr></thead></table></div><div class="hider-panel"><div class="hider-heading"><button type="button" class="btn btn-default btn-xs hider-button" data-name="A Hymn For Goldilocks">A Hymn For Goldilocks [+]</button></div><div class="hider-body" style="display: none"><div class="bb-center"><img src="https://static.tumblr.com/b572f57912d8b5345269f9dc72e04359/yveunmd/zEwn8f4ke/tumblr_static_4fc6jqggm90kg048ok0kkw0ww_640_v2.jpg" /></div><br><br>There is a universe. No-one knows it's name, where gravity wasn't strong enough to bind matter together and no stars formed. And because no stars formed, no stars exploded. And because no stars exploded, no planets came about. And because no planets came about, there was no life.<br><br>There's another universe, no one knows it's name, where gravity was strong enough and did light the stars and planets came about and boy, they were gorgeous, planets in perpetual winter, planets in perpetual summer, planets that could rival the Garden of Eden and no bloody snakes! <br>Goodbye Octopi.<br><br>There's another universe, where life formed on every planet, in every solar system, and it was carbon-based, it was silicon based, it was made of crystals and water and plasma, it was made of quantum fields and light, and everything was alive, everything was doing a boogie, and it was everybody's birthday, everyday, relatively, and everyone got presents, and they had over a trillion languages, some written down, some only spoken, some conducted telepathically, and they bought a galactic civilization together, as a perfect unity, sharing stories, sharing technology, speaking a common tongue, understanding everything about how the cosmos been put together. <br><br>And yet, for a quirk in their evolution, because resources weren't scarce enough on the planets these species developed on, not a single creature in the universe was conscious. Food was eaten and no-one enjoyed it. Movies were released, and there was no laughing, or crying. No-one chuckled at a joke. Ever.<br>Space collapsed back on itself, eventually, and there hadn't been a single moment of sentience in the entire history of creation.<br><br>There's another universe, where the strong force is too strong the weak force is too weak and nothing forms.<br>Another, where life develops too late when the Stars have all gone beyond the light boundary and there's nothing to even see. <br>Another with too many dimensions.<br>Another with not enough.<br>Another where time goes in the opposite direction, and species begin as gods, and wind backwards to cells, and never learn<br>to survive.<br>Another that only lasts milliseconds, and collapses in on itself, and heads straight back to oblivion.<br>And that's how it just might be, across all possible universes, across all possible space times. Problems with the laws of nature, not enough resources, missteps in evolution.<br>An atlas of dead-ends.<br><br>Then again, there is one exception.<br><br>There's another universe, a big one, where life is rare, where intelligent life is very rare indeed, the stars are very distant from each other, the laws of nature are very complex, it's extremely lonely for any species developing, and most never even develop at all, but somewhere, we believe, is a planet where the oceans are vast, and the climate is varied. Where the smartest species on the planet may have developed just the right mix of ambition and kindness.<br>And if you were to travel there, to this unbelievably rare statistical anomaly, to this impossibly lucky planet, where evolution, biology, chemistry, nae, the laws of physics themselves have come together to create sentient intelligent life, you may be able to catch the native inhabitants singing for joy. Of what an impossibly lucky, and rare position they find themselves in. <br>It is a chant of gratitude, a ritual of showing appreciation for ending up in perhaps the one universe, in the one solar system, on the one planet with all the basic ingredients for intelligent, conscious life.<br><br>~Exurb1a</div></div></div>
