Seeing actual bushfire footage looks straight out of Hell... It moves so quickly and so powerfully, literally the trees just ignite. You firefighters are absolute legends, but please, don't die.

Welcome to my little personal den of Hell! Sorry, sorry, I meant my personal profile. Same thing, right?

I'm a roleplayer, same as any around here. I've been doing it for about five years now, coming up to six in September. Its been quite the time, thinking back. I started out fresh as can be, understanding the basics of writing but never quite knowing how to become better, or become as great as those around me. In the end, I did the only thing I really knew at the time:

Write as much garbage as possible and hope for the best!

As you can see, that particular tactic fucking failed.
Jokes aside, I like to think I've developed a lot over the years, both as a writer and as a person. However, absolutely nothing can dissuade my weeaboo ways and supporting my OTP with all that I can freaking muster! If you haven't already guessed, said OTP is Chrom x Robin (Chrobin) from Fire Emblem: Awakening. Highly recommend the game, there's a reason (other than nintendo's cheapskate attitude) that it hasn't dropped in price, it's honestly the best place to start off in the series. And hey, maybe you'll end up addicted like me and want to buy every game on the 3DS like a fucking loony?

Speaking of loonies, the Fire Emblem Chrobin Comic Dub Project has recently finished, so for those of you who also appreciate the best ship in existence, I highly recommend it. Hell, even if you're not interested in that, I do highly recommend watching it for those into fantasy love stories. The quality improves drastically with each episode, so trust me when I say by the end of it you should be thoroughly impressed. It has helped motivate me in ways I can hardly describe with words, and so I thought the least I could do was put this out there. Maybe it's not for everyone, but I know it was the perfect thing for me.

"Do you think you can tip any of the scales in here?"
"Chrom, for the love of Naga, I'm thinking..."

"So I heard."

"There are better places
to take a nap than
on the ground, you know."

Might try make a post tomorrow c: been working on my own RP + Valentine's
If it has already been covered in the previous thread then I apologise, but I thought I'd voice my thoughts.

Character sheets are the most fun part, as a player, to work on. A good GM will provide you everything you need to let you be creative within the confines of the RP, while still keeping things in line with their intended vision. An attentive GM will work with you on your concept, provide important information where applicable, and help guide the player so both parties are satisfied. And an experienced GM can give you all of the basic info in a list no longer than a couple of dot points.

Overtly complex character sheets can be fun, but really, they should be for the player's enjoyment rather than the GM's requirements. If the players like making their sheets complex, nice! But I know a lot of people prefer the shorter, more simplistic route. And yet, too simplistic can be problematic. I mean sure, minimalism is nice to look at, but ultimately it's as empty as the overly complex sheets. They just hide it better behind a thick layer of extra, largely pointless info. A GM should ALWAYS understand the most important aspects of what you want for your character, because they literally cannot design the RP with you in mind otherwise. Too extra or too shallow, it means something is being overlooked, and it'll only cause problems in the end.

This naturally isn't a problem in small group RPs in PMs, where you can be a lot more free with your creative direction, but on a forum it cannot be understated how much a well-crafted CS will benefit your RP.

Silence. The #1 Hero of Jigokuraku was met with complete and utter silence. Many of his peers fell quiet at his outburst, some commenting from afar, and others just watching in disbelief. There were a few snickers here and there, though with the crowd becoming more dense in the ever-growing front courtyard, it was hard to place a what to a who. However, before he could storm off and threaten to blow each and every one of them off the mountain, a glimmer of silver from beyond the doorway, as well as fast-paced running, signalled the arrival of someone.

And as soon as he had a look at that hair, Sakimoto would know exactly who it was.

In a huff, the pragmatic prodigy panted down the hallway, looking like she had been running a marathon. In her one hand, she had a key, and in the other a towel, more than likely for herself. One would think she would use her quirk to cool off in a situation like this, but alas that was technically not allowed, especially inside the school. Cooling down was one thing, but freezing an entire hallway in the process was a guaranteed expulsion for malpractice of quirk usage, and it wouldn't be hard to hunt down the culprit. She stopped by the glass door, where her bag was sitting against the nearby wall, quickly gulping down a litre of water at least. It may very well have felt like those mere moments were exaggerated to hours for the both of them, albeit for different reasons. Something was odd about her uniform, though. It wasn't the same as during the exam. Was this the new uniform they were supposed to be getting?

She didn't give him much time to think on it, as Cookies-and-Cream wasted no further time in unlocking the front doors, quickly poking her head through. "You're too loud. And early." Her bluntness was a testament to her (frankly shallow) social life, but it wasn't like Sakimoto would get angry over something like that, least in her mind he wouldn't. "They're done setting up. We're merely waiting on two more teachers. I know that Uranishi-sensei will be late, but not by much, we're just waiting on Tanifuji-sensei now."
There was a pause. She had to clarify.
"The Shadow will be late, we're just waiting on The Dragon. But from the looks of things, she's already here..."

Thinking ahead that the students would all herd into the halls the moment the doors opened, she waved over Tanifuji, hoping to get her attention. It would probably feel wrong having a student guide everyone through the place and not a teacher, especially one as equipped to deal with problem children as she was. That kind of supervision was damn-near required with kids at this age. She took the moment to congratulate her fellow classmate:

"It's good to see you also made it, Sakimoto. I was confident you would make it."

Checkers poked her head around the side of him to get a look at some of the many students assembled. Some were pretty familiar, and she could recall by name, but others she didn't recognise at all. Odd. "For some reason I didn't expect so many new faces..."
But if there was one face that was easy to pick out from the crowd that wasn't Hiroki Sakimoto, it was Haruishi Mari. Though the two were at odds during the start of the exam, Yomodachi didn't seem to particularly mind the other girl's presence, raising an eyebrow and offering a brief smile should she notice.

@pkken

Looks great! Put him in the characters tab! :D

@Metastability

Damn, writing that post makes me want to play as Robin so I can be everyone's mother >->

Pain

As his blade came to rest in the chassis of the now-fallen robot, Thanatos relaxed. Similar to Bastion's own disappearance, the embodiment of death would glow white momentarily, breaking back down into the shiny, glass-like texture, before fading into nothingness. He had done his part.

As soon as he was gone, Minako's legs gave out, causing her to fall unceremoniously to the floor. Intense yet shallow breathing indicated her condition was not good, and it didn't take a genius to tell she was bleeding more than she could handle. Large, near-bulletproof monsters still couldn't account for the sheer devastation that Bastion's minigun could inflict, and it showed. Her left arm was the worst off, following her right leg, and a single shot that broke through Thanatos hit her slightly above the hip. If it weren't for Personas being almost completely invulnerable, she would easily be dead by now.

That didn't stop her from getting upset at someone else, though. Acting in spite of her condition, the redhead got to her feet, and forced herself to move. She really couldn't be bothered with yelling at someone right now, but honestly, she had to say something or else it would happen again. In an awkward shuffle-like walk, the young woman began to approach her intended target:
Linkle.
Maybe it was that they were so similar, mostly by age and appearance, that lead her to get so worried over the otherworldly hero. Maybe it was her shortsightedness and willingness to walk out in front of an active minigun. Either way, something had to be said. As soon as she was close enough, Minako would forcibly grab hold of the green hero by the collar, though with her strength as weak as it was this wasn't so much a pull as it was a tug. The teen's glare and obvious annoyance was clear as day, though she refused to speak, not till she could get her thoughts in order. If she mindlessly yelled at her, there wasn't a lesson to be learned, except that she needed to be a better leader. Thinking constructively while tired and bleeding from several bullet wounds was tough, but she did the best she could, given the situation.

"Linkle. Do not, under any circumstance, do that again..." Her tone was stern, yet the weariness was impossible to mask. "Tora almost died under that barrage, and I didn't fare so well against it, either. Running out of cover when it had all three of us under its sights, let alone if the other turret or that man also thought we were a threat, is frankly stupid. You wouldn't do the same to a legion of archers, would you? An army of riflemen, perhaps? Because -- and I know you didn't know this, but -- that's what it is: an army in one." Her probing scarlet glare softened with a sigh, and she averted her gaze to the ground. It wasn't like she herself couldn't be blamed for something, either. Minako knew that the opportunity was there to stop her from running out, but she let her own fear control her. How could one call themselves a leader when they're unable to move in times of need?

"Look," she started, letting go of Linkle's collar, still staring at the ground. "At the end of the day, we made it. It wasn't pretty, but somehow, we did. And you did well enough not only keeping yourself alive, but using bombs to put pressure on the enemy. That's fine; great, actually! But..." Refocused, she looked like she was about to plead with Linkle. And... possibly cry? It was hard to say. "Be more careful, OK? If not for yourself, then for others. You can't expect to help anyone with a... well, you get the picture." A pained chuckle escaped the redhead's lips as she pointed to her own wounds. Minako hadn't really helped anyone the same as Blazermate had, but now with Eurydice back, perhaps there was an opportunity to do so. At the very least, she now had the means of recovering herself. But if Blazermate could do the job without tiring, then that would be preferable.

The adrenaline was beginning to wear off now. Those wounds were beginning to hurt like a mother.

There is no way I can take that standout bonus in good conscience after spending that entire fight doing nothing but find new and creative ways to almost die.

Oh don't you worry, I'll happily guilt trip Linkle IC for you :D
