History:Born in 1978, and raised in Moscow, Viktor has only ever known the Russian way of life for most of his life. His father had been conscripted shortly after his birth, and spent the next 10 years in Afghanistan, fighting a losing battle for the Soviets. His mother fared well at raising him, and by the time his father returned, Viktor was a model child.
The collapse of the USSR and the formation of the Russian Federation was rather inconsequential to Viktor and his family. The only real impact was that his father's medals now referred to a nonexistent nation, and that his father had gotten a much better job after the transition.
Because Viktor's father loved to regale him with war stories as he grew older, Viktor was quickly ensnared in the idea of the military life. Upon turning 18, Viktor volunteered with the Russian Armed Forces, and was sent off to basic training. Viktor's first deployment was in the Second Chechen War, and there he would lose his eager demeanor on military life.
Serving for all ten years of the Second Chechen War as infantry, Viktor witnessed firsthand the destruction caused on a modern battlefield. However, instead of making him bitter, it refocused his energy into newfound patriotism for his country, which led to his continued service.
Due to great performance in the Second Chechen War, Viktor was inducted into the 45th Guards Detached Spetsnaz Brigade, a joint unit between the Russian GRU, and the Airborne Troops. After receiving necessary training, Viktor found himself back in the Caucasus region, this time fighting rogue insurgents and terrorists aligned with the Caucasus Emirate. Viktor's role in this conflict would ultimately end in 2012, as a new assignment was prepared for him and others.
Starting in 2012, various members of the Russian Armed Forces began unofficial operations in Eastern Ukraine, starting in Crimea and progressing to the Donbass area over the course of several years. Viktor's unit was given orders to operate without any identifying insignia, and to deny any involvement with the Russian government. After engaging in these clandestine operations in Ukraine for four years, Viktor would be forced to leave after taking a handgun round to his left leg during a firefight. This would lead to his retirement from the Russian military. Not wanting to give up the military lifestyle he was so accustomed to, Viktor tried to get his name out into the world of PMCs.
Psychological Profile:Viktor enjoys the military lifestyle, and that shows. He regularly tells tales about his days in the Russian Armed Forces, shares jokes that span across the military lifestyle, and will talk at great length about various topics pertaining to the military. His boisterous attitude is often accompanied by dark humor that while others might find it unsettling, he sees it as good fun. In the field, his attitude is far more serious, wanting to focus directly on the task at hand, and often shrugging off or barking angrily at jokes he easily would have laughed at before. Political discourse is one area where he can become particularly antagonistic, as he is a staunch Russian patriot, and fails to see the flaws others do in the Russian Federation.
