Full Name: Rebekah Leah Green

Super Alias: Karearea (as in the bird)

Age: 18

Appearance: Rebekah Green is most often seen around the BoSA building wearing jeans and a t-shirt. It is simple, comfortable, practical clothing, which suits her just fine. She is a smidge above average height, with blue eyes, light skin and mid-length blonde hair she keeps tied back in a pony-tail. She sometimes wonders if her nose isn't a bit too long.

Power(s): Rebekah can change the size of objects around her, growing or shrinking them into perfect scale replicas of themselves. The ability cannot be used on living beings. She is also able to teleport to anywhere she can see.

Genes: Reality warping

Biography: Rebekah comes from a family of non-supers, so far as she can tell. Her great-grandmother might have been where she got the magical genes, but the stories about her are pretty murky and often don't agree.

She grew up in New Zealand, in amid-sized town near to a national park. Early on in life, she developed a love of books and reading, devouring both fact and fiction alike. A little later on, when she entered her teenage years, she continued with this, though the books gained a rival - the outdoors. Mountain biking, kayaking and walking all held strong appeal for her, leading to exciting trips to lakes, mountains and rivers.

Possibly due to her lack of close super ancestors, Rebekah was relatively late in developing her powers. Rebekah's powers first manifested shortly after her 15th birthday, while walking the last section of the Tongariro crossing. The school group were all tired, hungry, getting damp from the grey mist that had descended over the mountain and generally ready for the day's exertion to be over. Coming over the last rise and getting a view of the shuttle waiting at the end of the track, Rebekah suddenly disappeared from among the group to find herself standing up against the white van's windows.

Shocked at this sudden transition, she jumped, yelled and tripped over backwards. Her fall would have landed her head on a large rock, but it shrunk down to the size of a pebble underneath her. She ended up landing on some scrub bushes, coming down much more gently and looking up to see a karearea swooping by overhead. By the time the rest of the group had caught up, it became clear what had happened and Rebekah was outed as a super.

Recently, Rebekah’s parents took an opportunity to move to the US for their jobs in the solar panel industry. Rebekah, having just finished school, chose to go with them and take a place on the newly forming team of young supers in Metroville.

Personality: Rebekah is quiet and reserved in most situations, preferring to listen and observe than to speak. When she does speak, it is usually in direct answer to a problem that needs solving or to suggest an action. She doesn't do well with small-talk and doesn't share her emotions easily, except with those she is closest to and trusts without exception. On the other hand, she will happily go on and on about an interesting idea and enjoys being challenged in this way.

She tries to view the world as rationally as possible, and solve problems using logic and reason. She values knowledge and curiosity and holds tightly to the idea that the best superhero is not the one with the strongest power, but the one who knows when and how to apply their abilities to get the best result.

Rebekah is a bit bit unsure of herself, what with coming to a new country and taking on the role of a full-time professional superhero, but she is also excited for the challenge it will bring. This is a chance for her to make her mark on the world, and she wants to take it.

Her personality would be an I-N-T-J on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.

Skills: Rebekah has some pretty good skills in the outdoors, and has good fitness and endurance to go with them. She is reasonably proficient in self-defence, but unlike some of her fellow supers, her fighting talent is nothing special.

Where she does excel physically is in her reflexes and reactions, based on her senses ,which are pretty sharp when she cares to pay attention.

Rebekah has always enjoyed school and done well in her non-super education, so she has a solid grounding in a number of subject areas, particularly the sciences.

Super Suit Specifics/Equipment: Rebekah’s suit will teleport with her, and is extra-tough, since her powers don’t give her any extra durability or protection from physical harm. Her suit also includes a backpack that contains all of the equipment she uses while super-ing. It is growing towards being, so far as she was concerned, the most massively useful collection of items ever assembled into a space of under 35 litres.

All shrunk down and organised into their own individual pockets, she has everything from extra clothes for a number of situations, food, drink and other survival supplies, first aid kits, combat gear, vials of some interesting chemicals, and a few handy odds, ends and gadgets to top it off. In need, she can retrieve any of these items and grow them back to their full size in just a few moments.

Her suit also contains the team’s standard additions: a global tracking device and secure communicator.

Possessions: Shortly before Rebekah left New Zealand, she purchased a small greenstone pendant, and wears it as a reminder of home, and her friends and family back there.

Other: Rebekah’s name is Rebekah, and she would prefer it if others didn’t insist on shortening it to Bekky, Bekka, Bex or any other variation they might come up with. It’s a perfectly good name already, and it doesn’t need shortening, thank you very much! It is something of a pet peeve for her.

Cool, thanks.
Hi, quick question:

in the years since the movie, has Syndrome's super-tech become more widely used, or did that die with its inventor? Shall we just assume a modern sort of tech level for this world?
I'm thinking about joining this as well. Interest expressed.
That's fine, take your time.
Say, @Tobiax, I was wondering, what do Kongero and Congro mean?

Like, all the other Nuis' names mean something, like "great city", "great journey", "great heart", and even "wahi" and "koro" are "region" and "village" in matoran. So, in this case Fe-Congro is the what of iron, exactly?

Suavo

As the bike's hum grew louder, Suavo gripped tightly to his seat and felt the sudden kick of speed. It was exhilarating, but even so he could feel that the machine still had more to give once Velhni truly opened up the throttle.

“Y’know, I don't think I ever caught your name. I'm Velhni by the way, mechanic and racer extraordinaire.”

"Suavo," he called back over the rush of air."Travelling entertainer and carnival performer extraordinaire."

Velhni seemed to know where she was going, so in almost no time they had found their way back to the festival grounds. Since Suavo had left, tall floodlights had been erected over much of the park, so the place was filled with light even though the sun had long since disappeared. They soon approached a group of matoran hauling another array of lamps up to the top of a poll, and pulling spaghetti-tangles of wires out from a crate to hook them up the the festival's electrical grid. They didn't seem to be having much success.

"So, that's your gig there, right?" Suavo asked, pointing out the group.

Kumanu

Kumanu watch as the glowing fruit was carefully picked and then stowed away, and then Hura came back down the tree. He lent a stabalising hand as the Bo-matoran descended the final section, and then that was everything done and dusted.

"Nice job" he commented. "Shall we head home now?"
Suavo

"Yeah, sure, no problem" Suavo replied as he took hold of Velhni's hand for the second time and swung up onto the motorcycle behind her.
"I've just come from the festival grounds, actually, because I'll be performing there later in the week. If we have to go back there, I'm sure I could snag a spare helmet to go riding."

In truth, Suavo was pretty sure that the serious, hard-working builder-matoran setting up back the the festival would get rather grumpy if he tried to swipe one of their helmets. Still, any carnival performer worth their salt knew a bit about directing an audience's attention, and moving it away from where the real "magic" was happening. If asking nicely didn't work, he would get a helmet some other way.

Suavo

Oh yeah! Now this was cool. All of Suavo's previous annoyance at getting lost drained away as he looked at the bike, as did all of his other plans for this evening. He may have gotten knocked down, but now it seemed that fate was determined to make up for that, and was doing a damn good job. He would have to thank his lucky stars later, but for now he was determined to just enjoy the ride.

"No way!" he breathed, while not doubting her at all. Then, with an equally manic grin, he looked her stright in the mask and challenged, "Would you show me?"
