Thin tendrils of smoke spiral upwards from Toto's scaly nostrils as they flared with discontent. He responded to his mistress, his voice quietly dangerous and full of energy in Rebekah's mind, rumbling like the thunder of a distant tropical storm. "Madam, do not allow my subservient manner of speaking to fool you into an inflated sense of self worth. My name reflects not the need for attention, but the fact that if properly utilized by a sufficiently creative individual, I would be the only aid of which they are ever in need. If my people demanded the entirety of our masters' attention to be appeased, we would not have shackled ourselves to creatures as frail and simple-minded as humans. We would have submitted ourselves to beings whose true natures, much like ourselves, cannot be contained in a physical form."

The One The Only shakes his head and briefly stretches his wings before disappearing in a puff of indigo smoke. Once the smoke clears, an adorable kitten is left standing on the floor. He deftly climbs Rebekah's body and rubs against his mistress' cheek while purring softly in her ear, "I'm sorry Miss Rebekah. I spoke out of turn in anger. We will do whatever you think is best in your pursuit of becoming a 'hero'. However, I do have a request. I tire of my totem and would like to find a new one. Do I have your permission to go out and seek something that suits me? I will leave a shadow of myself to assist you, of course."

Rebekah Green

"Apology accepted, Toto, and yes, you have my permission. Just, before you do the changeover, you should bring the new Totem back to me so I can do what I can to protect it. Like you were saying before, safety first with these things, yeah?"
Toto growls quietly at his mistress' apparent disinterest. "Madam, do you always respond to threats with such...passivity?" He asks Rebekah telepathically.

Rebekah Green

"No, Toto, I don't" Rebekah said, this time turning to face the dragon at her feet (the jerky's growth slowed significantly)."I will respond in time, but remember that there are other, more capable people responding as we speak, that you yourself have just confirmed to me that there is no longer any immediate threat, and that I'm trying to help out someone else here. I'm going to be a hero. That's what we do."

"You may call yourself The One, The Only, but you'll have to realise that actually, you're not the only one who can make demands on my attention, and that sometimes, other things will come first. OK?"

Rebekah paused a moment, and found that she was leaning over Toto, hands on hips and breathing much more deeply than she had been. Perhaps an apology was in order.

"I'm sorry, Toto, that was too harsh" she said, dropping her hands and leaning back. "Perhaps all that craziness affected me more than I thought. Just give me a moment to finish up here and grab my things, then we can go and I'll think about what to do next. Is that better?"
The problem with sunflower seeds, as opposed to beef jerkey, is that you would end up with a very big seed, which would be hard to eat, not a bigger pile of sunflower seeds, which would be great.

Toto was back, winding between Rebekah's legs, now as some kind of dragon. She wondered if he was just showing off with his shapeshifting now, or if he always changed shape this often. "OK, thanks anyway" she whispered to him. "At least we're all safe now."

Rebekah wasn't buying Arachne's talk of being totally fine, at least not as much as she claimed. She'd fallen hard, banged her head, and taken a worryingly long time to get her bearings and stagger to her feet. Still, she could understand the other girl's desire to appear strong and self-sufficient in front of her new classmates. If she said to back off, Rebekah would.

"Morning classes have just been cancelled," she told Arachne, "so we're all free until gym after lunch. And speaking of lunch, I don't have burgers, but I can whip something up if you give me a moment."

It took a little bit of digging, but in a few moments Rebekah found a stick of beef jerkey in her bag, and pulled it out for Arachne to see. She then grew it to about twice the size it had been, snapped it in half, and placed one part back in her bag.
The remainder, she handed to Arachne before beginning to grow the dried meat again. "Tell me when to stop" she told her.

Toto is trying to interact with Rebekah

<Snipped quote by Vulture585>

I'll get to that. Right now, Rebekah's concern is with the person who just collapsed.
"I'm not... Panicking! It's the beast, he was surprised by the light!" Arachne's voice visibly strained as she tried to reel the Black Beast back. She also heard the girl's word about this being an illusion, but was actively disbelieving it all it took? She supposed that if she didn't know it was an illusion, Arachne would have never thought to "disbelieve" it, but it seemed like a stretch. She tried to not believe in the darkness around her, though her mind was somewhat distracted by reigning in the Black Beast.

"Calm down dammit, it was just a flash!" Arachne shouted at the Black Beast as it continued to lash out. Fortunately Arachne had kept the beast back from any students, but she was still blinded by the darkness around her. She was just too preoccupied to simple disbelieve in the illusion. Only suddenly, everything went back to normal. Arachne could see her fellow students, her surroundings, and more importantly she could see where the Black Beast was. Mustering as much control as she could, she created a boney appendage that reached out and tore the mask off the Black Beast. This was all she needed to force the monster back inside of her as she fell to the ground with a thud.

"Oooooow..."

Rebekah Green

The girl who had emerged from the beast collapsed to the floor, and, recognising that the danger had passed, Rebekah immediately went to help her. She knelt down to lean over Arachne's face, and took one of her hands in her own.
"Hey, are you OK there? How can I help?"

She received only a groan in response, so she continued on a different tack.
"Hey, it's OK. You're safe now. You hear me? Everything is going to be OK. The danger has passed, and you're safe now. The darkness has gone, you're in human form, nobody is hurt, and we're surrounded by good people. You're safe now, so just come on into the light, and we'll get you whatever help you need, OK?"
@Vulture585
Well. I'll give DFTBA....hm. 32 hours from now, and then I'll give you free rein to do what you want

Yes, as Vulture said I am still here. It has been a busy week for me, and it looks like the rest of you have been keeping pretty busy too! There was quite a bit to catch up on.

Anyway, I'll start working on an IC post. It seems that most everyone except Arachne has moved on from the classroom scene, so I'll have Rebekah respond there. Maybe they can chat a bit about how that Black Beast works.
Omnidroid, Incredibles and Rebekah Green

Coming under attack from all sides, the Omnidroid seemed to realise its time was almost done. It hunkered down, protecting its vulnerable underbelly and ceasing its attacks on the supers to focus on protecting itself. Even then, it was losing ground. Elastigirl had one it is claws all tied, up, while Karearea and Mr. Incredible worked together to smash it to bits.

A trapdoor opened in the robot's side, and a rocket launched out from the gap. It wasn't aimed at any of the supers, going well over all of their heads. Instead, it arced out over the city, headed for somewhere over the far side of Metroville. None of them could quite see where it landed, but only eerie silence followed. There was no explosion, or loud noise, or other form of destruction reaching into the sky.

Back at the factory, the robot gave one final shudder, collapsed, and then exploded. Mako's internal damage combined with Cassie's work on the armoured shell did their jobs well, and the machine simply couldn't keep going. The Omnidroid's death throes lit up the night for a second, and let out a booming report, before falling still and silent again.

Around the factory, a few flames still flickered, though most had gone out. The place was a terrible mess, but for now at least, it was safe.
@Vetis

Yes, we could still accept another character.

With regards to the powers, I'll reserve judgement. I'm not familiar with the examples you gave, so just write up a description of the power(s) you want to use (what they do, how they work, the limitations, etc) and we'll go from there.
Omnidroid

The enhanced vibrations of the katana helped it to carve out a sizeable scratch in the omnidroid's shell, then a growing incision that was growing deeper by the second. The problem with this was soon reveal, however: superheating the blade was causing it to lose its temper and solidity faster than it was melting through the omnidroid's temporarily lava-proof outer casing.

With a final magnetic heave, the part-melted sword came free of the robot, along with a section of the robot's shell that had either melted onto it or been deformed enough by the magnetism to tear free. The hole was about a square foot in area with sharp, jagged edges.

In response, the omnidroid abandoned its attempts to break out of its cage and focussed solely on Magnastar. Its two claws became giant saws that swung towards her, while its legs retracted and the whole thing started to roll so that Mako and the hole would be underneath it.
