This opponent gave off a familiar sense. Within his own mind, a single second became stretched out to greater length, watching as events unfolded. It gave him time to think on the matter and this precarious situation he found himself in. That odd feeling became like an itch at the back of his head, till suddenly it dawned on him. This must have been the stranger from the tavern that day. It would seem as though fate had conspired to bring the two against one another. Well then...best not to disappoint.
THEME: youtube.com/watch?v=GAEy-G7ZbLY&tUpon closer inspection, the protective shield of golden radiance was generating a powerful forcefield, the repelling element that had been keeping the Dread Energy particles at bay. There wasn't any physical contact being made with the sphere of light, establishing a buffer zone between itself and all outside matter. The saw discs would demonstrate this perfectly, abruptly struck by an invisible force a few feet from the outer surface, acting as a wall to counter any physical attacks with ease. Their own kinetic energy would be reflected at the point of contact, added to the already overwhelming pressure that was being exerted and presumably sending them flying right back at Xavier with even greater velocity.
It proved as an efficient defensive measure during the Omniverse Wars where the man would find himself caught in an ambush, taking heavy fire and artillery rounds from all sides by the enemy.
However, this was assuming that Xavier's projectiles would even manage to cross the distance with there being no direct line of sight between them, what with all the obstacles in the way.
Of course, the only downside was that this also applied to Dias as well. Most of his own attacks would likewise be unable to penetrate the EXCALIBUR's barrier, a double edged sword. (No pun intended) But that wasn't where his mind was at right now. It was rare to end up facing off against an opponent such as this. This Xavier was truly a dangerous man, not to be underestimated. It was entirely possible that he might even be indestructible, similar to a select few other opponents he had crossed paths with in the past. Time to test that theory...
Before the saws were even let loose, five out of the eight Greatswords had begun to pulsate, giving off a unique pattern. One started to glow blue while another turned bright red. Green. Yellow. White. The prismatic weapons became a catalyst, each containing one of the five Prime Elements of Narria. The several remaining sentinels took up their positions around the man, reacting to any and all external threats to intercept anything that might miraculously find a way through the barrier. Meanwhile, his left hand raised, the five swords responding to his gesture as they moved to line-up in front of him. Muscles tensing, the diamond blades tilted back, the razor sharp tips aimed directly at Xavier, assuming his opponent could see past the blinding ward.
Starting to spin in place, they began a simultaneous circular rotation in the air, suddenly giving off a low frequency hum as vibrations surged through their molecules. Arcs of electricity then lashed out in the space between them, the bolts growing more violent as they picked up speed. The mysterious markings depicted in his iris shifted, cellular structure reworking itself to reveal new lines to complete the obscured meaning. Fingers strained, slowly curling into a fist as the elements were infused with one another.
Taking a step to the right, the ARMIGER's distorted field moved with him along with the intense blaze of the surrounding force barrier. The local gathering of Dread Energy would no doubt feel the immense pressure being pressed against it, attempting to aggressively push it back and crushing whatever refused to move out of the way.
Surprisingly, the arena appeared to be completely unaffected by the EXCALIBUR's presence, as if completely invulnerable. (Teh Hax, yo. Someone be using Game Genie on this place, fo realz)
