Rift Hound - Maroni's Restaurant
Joshua attempted to steal a quick glance through the storefront window, but it seemed to be covered with ice.
"Shit." he muttered to himself. It must have happened when he crossing the street or something, but it made sense. Whoever was in there didn't want people to be able to see in, get out or to take shots at them. Would the ice affect his phasing through the wall? The restaurant shook suddenly, as if a localized quake had just struck the building. Where they attacking hostages?! Time was running out! He'd been assuming this was a hostage situation, but this could just as easily be a simple massacre! Without thinking, Joshua scurried around the side of the building, phasing through the wall and rushing under the nearest table. Then he realised what he'd just done.
Fuck that was dumb! Now I'm no better off than the hostages!
From under the table, Joshua maintained his intangibility and held his breath, hoping he hadn't been spotted.
