The wording, if we are referencing mine is not random or a surprise at all. Earlier in the match Crystal reached into her pocket and 'mined forth two diamonds'. Those two diamonds are the same ones being used in the recent string of posts.

The second moved just as the first diamond lens was struck to trap his hand by folding around it and the weapon like a large rock. The crystal is held in place by Crystal, instead of falling to the floor or weighing shin down.
I'm here. I'd imagine that it would be in the position it's been -- the flat of its bladed end facing Crystal. This would assume that it's being held perpendicular to Shin.
Ah, then yeah that's what I meant by he'd only be facing her for a brief moment.
As I'm understanding, you're saying you flourished your weapon just before spinning, or as you were spinning. If you did flourish your weapon, then she did not begin her movements until he started the physical spin. If they were simultaneous, then I would imagine this rule would still apply, not moving until she saw your angular momentun, by which point youd be facing her from the side for only a brief moment before he would be turned away from her.

All in all, I'm saying that whatever he did, she did not respond to until after he had begun actually spinning and no action before. And as I'm seeing the timeline, her shields would be summoned as he was turned, and were fully formed by the time he came fill circle to attack her with the paddle.

Edit: I know this is a small detail and I don't think it effects much, but I'm just trying to ensure we stay on the same page. I have learned my lesson since Dazsos.
I didnt neglect it. I intentionally did not move, specifically to bait the spin o.o
If I did it was an honest mistake, but I In particular, I was referencing this:

"he would stop his run and turn on his heel. Spinning the bladed staff behind himself and completing a full bodily rotation"

With a special emphasis on the pivot of his heel, and 'full bodily rotation' are what led me to believe your character was spinning and not just the weapon. Unless you mean you did spin, it jjust started with the weapon, in which case I still would say Crystal didnt erect her shield until the actual physical spin had began, not the motion leading into it.
Crystal prepared for quite a lot. sometimes it worked, and other times it hurt. This one worked flawlessly. While her theme and inspiration was already made clear, it was worth reiterating:

In fact, she recalled a great terran swordsman whom's legendary slaying tehnique almost always involved leading opponents into a false sense of security to strike a final blow. Musashi Yamamoto she believed his name was? Yes! That was it.
Crystal

She was more than prepared.

She specifically timed her defense with Shin's spin. Not the beginning of his strike, but his spin. That is to say while he wasn't looking. If this wouldn't be a lesson for him in terms of predictability, then it would at least serve to teach him to never turn his back on his opponent.

The defensive gesture also was not a parry, but a block. It placed the face of the curved diamond lens against the flat of shin's blade, an oblong shape and angle that would make fitting it within his weapon a la lacrosse a quite difficult task, particularly moreso given it was morphing at the same time as his own. They'd be pressing against one another like lips rather than gaining any dominion over each other. Furthermore, he had only attempted to trap a single disc. The second, warned by its comrade would reposition and lock his weapon hand as originally intended and therefore any would-be followup outbursts. With his weapon arm locked away, he'd be hard pressed to stop Crystal's followthrough strike; the exact same as before. And this time with gusto.

Crystal preferred to hit very hard, and very fast. Preferrably once.
Funny, I was going to say the same thing to you.
I'm actually familiar with it. I plan for a lot, and I believe I know the general gist of what's to come. I'm quite excited to see what you've got planned!
I have been eyeing this. I unfortunately couldnt join the last multiverse because work wouldnt allow me to larticipate in something so intensive. This seems far more 'casual', so expect a post from me at some point today or tomorrow.
