Bio
My name is DJ. I am a roleplayer. A roleplayer of roughly a good decade now. I write a lot of things, and am able to roleplay a lot of things.
Random Things about me - I run a small YouTube channel. - I listen to a helluva lot of music. Love music. - I'm from Singapore. It's a little island in Southeast Asia.
Anywho, I've not been RPing for a long long time, but here I am, hopefully to make a few friends and RP some.
Abdullah stands five feet ten and weighs roughly 170 pounds. He has a head of short, close cropped black hair and dark brown eyes. A long, sharp nose and high cheekbones, though marred by several acne scars, make his overall facial appearance an average one.
Abby normally carries himself with care; being a practicing Muslim in a mostly (and fervently) Christian country doesn't do much for trust amongst those around him. Those who know him very well and have served with him all agree on one thing: he's a gentleman, and he carries himself like one. He always watches his appearance, wearing conservative civilian clothes and never overemphasising his religion and beliefs anywhere. The most you'll see is a pocket Koran in his jacket or in his phone.
Otherwise, Abby is an average individual. His naturally dark skin tone hides the tan he's gained from many months in the jungles and the scars from sand flies and sharp thorns barely show.
In-Depth Personality: Humble and quiet, Abby is quite the gentleman when not on duty.
He gained his two nicknames by simply being Malay. Abby through his American friends shortening his name during his studies in New York, and Achmed from the "Achmed the Dead Terrorist" comedy sketch routine.
During normal time, he is mostly quiet but helpful if needed, often spending time by himself either reading, listening to music or indulging in his hobby of sketching. He is quite gentlemanly through his actions and mannerisms, often asking permission before he does something, or allowing those of the fairer gender to pass ahead of him, things like that. He is also quite reliable and honest, being the person that is known to help others without asking for anything in return, or to offer help when no one else does.
When on duty though, like the others, he adopts the professional imagery befitting that of a soldier under command. He is precise, careful, and most of all professional. His already quiet nature turns into an almost dead silence borne of necessity; idle chatter was often punished during his military days in Singapore. He speaks only when spoken to or if he spots something amiss from his post.
Otherwise, off-duty Abby is a cheerier, more outspoken individual than on-duty Abby.
Character background: Born in a quiet apartment in the east of Singapore, Abdullah was the oldest in a family of seven siblings. He studied hard, but life was still very difficult. In order to support his family, he worked part time in a hawker center as a cleaner, all while studying on the side. In his free time, he dedicated himself to a hobby to keep himself relaxed, taking up archery within his school as a co-curricular activity. Soon he graduated from his school with a diploma in mechanical engineering, and by then he had to enlist under conscription. He bid his family farewell, hoping to use the income from being in the army to support his parents and siblings, as well as dig them out of the financial rut they were in.
Training in the Singapore Armed Forces was difficult. Upon entering he was immediately entered into 4SIR, the fourth Infantry Regiment of the main infantry strength in the SAF. A grueling three months of training followed, after which he was selected to undergo specialist training elsewhere. From a lowly private, he turned specialist cadet, and after another three months, a newly minted third sergeant. He went straight back to his regiment and company, where he expressed his interest in signing on with the military. After completing four years in service in total, he was recognised by the SAF as an exemplary commander and leader of men. Combined with his marksmanship skills, his commanding officer gave him an opportunity of a lifetime: to become a sniper in the secretive infantry marksman division. Humbly, he accepted, and he was promptly whisked away to undergo training as a sniper.
Three more years passed. During that time, Abby finished his sniper training, returned to his unit and served there for two of the three. Then he bid farewell to the service and Singapore as well. DeVry University in the States had just accepted him into their Electrical Engineering degree course.
Abby had just turned 26.
He spent three years pursuing his degree, and another three pursuing a masters in electrical engineering, before Trident took notice. Drawing on his military records from his time in Singapore, the Trident team took him aboard for his capabilities as a marksman and a leader, though ultimately the leadership was left to the higher ranking officer on board.
Loadout:
M110 Semi-Auto Sniper System; PVS-26 Night Sight attached to front of scope (removable when necessary), rangefinder on left side Picatinny rail.
Beretta M9; suppressor, green laser sight, illuminated irons.
2 smoke (one red, one white), two frags.
Ka-bar knife
Binoculars; when not using his rifle scope to sight on things in the distance, Abby uses these to fulfill that role without appearing like a threat.
Pocket torch; a simple LED flashlight, pocket sized and easy to use.
Viewfinder; without his long range equipment, Abby instead relies on this to sight down long range targets without making himself look like a target or alternatively an idiot.
Flares; Abby carries two of these for low light areas or to signal for air support.
**By putting this CS up in the OOC for approval, you have read all of the rules and have agreed to have fun. Welcome to the RP, my friend :)**
