Name: Edgar Felix Wright
Age: 34
Personality: Rugged and gritty, Edgar is a determined bloke. Often loyal to the right people, he is no stranger to suffering and loss, and as a result he is also rather stoic. However amongst the younger folk, he displays a certain soft side, seeing the young as full of hope and ambition for the future. He will actively try to take care of the young in his group if he comes across them. And not just people too; Edgar displays a remarkable amount of knowledge about caring for Pokemon, and will go out of his way to help those in need.

However, to most others, Edgar will come across as stony and cold. His history as a police officer has made him efficient, observant and often critical of others' decisions. He doesn't let his past get in the way of his current life though. Survival and all.

Biography: Edgar was once a police officer within one of his hometown's many precincts. Hailing from Saffron City, he rose from the rank of rookie to senior detective through his two decades of service. While the city of gold shone with an allure most described as enticing, Edgar saw through the shine for what the city really was: a cesspool of crime. With Team Rocket's presence in the city, crime ran rampant, and his team were many times forced to respond to reports of Pokemon abuse, kidnapping or even worse.

Edgar's team built up slowly through the years, and his five-Pokemon team are the backbone of his office, often outperforming the other detectives and officers, including Edgar himself. They are his pride and joy, and he enjoys taking care of them and in return they take care of him too.

Pokemon Team:

  • Grove is a female Serperior that used to be just a little Snivy assigned to Edgar when he was just a rookie cop in the force. Through the years of service (and Pokemon training and catching), Grove stayed loyal to her trainer and is his main partner on cases. Along with the other members of Edgar's team, Grove is an integral part of how he handles suspects during work. Her serpentine body allows her to bind runaways with ease while allowing Edgar to catch up after chases.

Grove, being a Serperior, often regards other Pokemon as inferior, but Edgar has given his all to make her change her way of acting. It does show too; his kinder side often shines through Grove as well. Despite her inherent uppity nature, she is still very loyal not only to her trainer but to the other Pokemon in her team and those she considers friends. She often goes out of her way to protect them too, much like her trainer.
  • The other Pokemon assigned to Edgar in the force, Mag is a Magneton, plain and simple. Where Grove is flexible, fluid and fast, Mag makes up for that in his (hers? its?) techniques. His electric moves make for good taser alternatives, and Screech is a very good riot control move. When not in combat, Mag prefers to spend his time out of his ball, floating around Edgar and playing with his other Pokemon. He particularly enjoys giving familiar people a very small zap to scare them after sneaking up on them.

Mag is a little unique in that he sports a little white cross decal on one of his three Magnemite orbs.
  • Rigby is a male Hitmonchan that was given to Edgar as a gift from one of his older colleagues during his retirement. Edgar mainly treats Rigby as a sparring partner, though his fist strength is nothing to be laughed at. When not sparring, Rigby is also an integral part of Edgar's police team, acting like an extra officer during chases or investigations.

When not on the job, Rigby usually spends his time shadow boxing or meditating, alone or with a friend or two. He has a little band-aid on his right fist and wears a white bandana around his left upper arm.
  • Beat is a male Poliwrath that Edgar inherited from his predecessor on the force. Originally just a wee Poliwag, his predecessor had him trained to a Poliwhirl before he retired, and Edgar took the reins of his training after. With water, ice and his strength, Beat is Edgar's main source of crowd control.

Beat is one of the unruly members of Edgar's team, being cocky and headstrong towards threats that are bigger than him. For all that it's worth, his punches are just as painful as Rigby's, and the two share a friendly rivalry during their sparring sessions. Beat's forearms are wrapped with handwraps.
  • Runt is the newest member of Edgar's team, having been a recent capture during one of his mountain hiking trips while on vacation. Just like his name, Runt is a male Tyrunt, big compared to some of the other Pokemon on his team but still just a child otherwise. His strength though is unmatched amongst his whole team, and Edgar often uses him as a heavy mover to shove obstacles out of the way.

Runt spends a lot of his time out of his ball, playing with the rest of Edgar's Pokemon and chasing his own tail. He is reguarly unaware of his own size, and often shows his affection by leaning up against people. That often results in the person falling over from Runt's weight and him crushing them slightly until Edgar notices.

Inventory:

  • 1 x hiking backpack
  • 1 x police badge
  • 5 x hyper potion
  • 3 x revive
  • 1 x service revolver
  • 1 x pair of handcuffs
  • 3 x zip ties
  • 2 x super potions
  • 1 x bottled water

Yeah no my post didn't get ignored, I swear.
PFC Kane O'Connor

Today just wasn't a good day.

D'you know how Kane knew it wasn't a good day?

Well, he'd overslept, for one. Normally he didn't give two shits about oversleeping, but today he was due for a routine stores inspection. His own.

After being posted to this ragged shithole of a border camp, he'd been put straight in charge of their comms and reconnaissance stores. Binoculars, radio sets, wires, the whole nine yards. Stuff he was trained to take care of, but seriously? Some of the shit here hadn't seen action in, like, a decade. The Interum military still used wired receiver communications sets?! Seriously?!

As Kane struggled and hobbled into his uniform, he grumbled and swore to himself. Of all the fucking places in the bloody world he had to get posted to the ass end of nowhere. His fucking luck. Everyone else was definitely already awake and eating. He was always late, not like he cared, but he cared about at least keeping his shit together.

With boots tied and uniform prim and proper, he rushed towards the tiny shack they called a cafeteria for breakfast. As he barged in, he caught the tail end of the radio broadcast.

Hostiles.

A downed allied transport.

Shit and double shit.

"Fuck. I knew today was gonna be a shit day."
Will write soon.

Being in the actual army means I don't get a lot of time to do shit.
Name: Matsumoto Hantaru
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Arcana: Justice
Equipment: Brown leather sling bag, pocket diary, pen, wristwatch. Main weapon type is blunt clubs, but he starts off with an aluminium baseball bat.
Skills: Deduction, observation, sarcasm, wit, athletics.
Appearance:
Matsumoto stands about 1.69m tall, weighing a paltry 68 kilograms. With a head of short, scruffy brown hair and equally brown eyes, he isn't one that impresses many. His chin is sharp and his nose is long and thin, with pursed thin lips. He regularly dresses in a medium length, high collar black duster over his school uniform, and when he doesn't have his coat on he drapes it on his shoulders like a cape or over his forearm. When not in his uniform, he prefers to wear an untucked white collared shirt with the sleeves rolled up, watch on one wrist and a black-and-white striped wristband on the other, with black jeans and boots.

Personality: Matsumoto is headstrong and brave, loyal to a fault and unerringly blunt. He will often make very blunt jokes that usually don't hurt but are very cringe worthy or groan inducing. These include dad jokes and puns. He often doesn't hesitate to point out someone's flaws, but almost immediately follows those up with compliments or encouragement to get better.

Biography: Matsumoto isn't exactly what you'd call a good student, but he isn't a delinquent either. He just has problems studying. If he really puts his effort into it, he can lose himself in his textbooks, but the results just don't reflect how much he tries.

He had a simple, normal childhood. Mom and dad managed a small ramen shop in the city while he studied and helped at the shop when he was free. From young, he'd built a good sense of independence, and it extended into his school life. But his studying problems ailed him no matter how much he tried. And he did try a lot.

However, what he could focus on were stories. Give him a detective novel and he'd lose himself in it for hours until the book was done. His parents noticed, of course, and together they helped him come up with a system. If he treated his textbooks like a mystery novel and his tests as mysteries, he found that he could focus better.

Of course, all this rubbed off on his style of dress and personality, building who he is today. He is a member of the literature and soccer clubs and a budding academic in his class.

Persona
Name: Castiel
Appearance: The angel Castiel is one of the middle tier angels, and as such sports a similar appearance. In comparison to his summoner, he stands at least nine feet tall from head to toe. A pair of bright white wings extend from his back, and his eyes are bound by a blindfold. In addition, he sports a stark white shirt, black pants and boots. Two belts wrap around his waist and a pair of unused suspenders hang from his belt. A dark blue scarf is wrapped around his neck, concealing the lower half of his head. On his head sits a halo, broken at the front. His weapon is a long iron bar with a mace head at the end.
Abilities:
- Hama
- Dia
- Cleave
Traits
- Strong: Physical
- Immune: Light (hama)
- Weak: Darkness (mudo), Fire (agi)
@Undinebutt Sorry. Been feeling absolutely nothing recently. My post is like shit but I had to post something to move Mari and Izuki to the main group.
@Undinebutt

"Eh, don't mention it. And it's Izuki. Izuki Goemon."

She stood and stretched, sighing a little bit while she rolled her shoulders. The cut on her lip had dried up in the interim, again, and although she was aching, she was still raring to go.

But where? Everyone was frozen.

Then, she heard more voices from further up the train. Since she was nearer the back, she couldn't see who was speaking, but she knew that somewhere, several someones were also free from this...stupid ass power thing.

Izuki hesitantly placed a hand on Mari's shoulder.

"Y'hear that? Sounds like there's others like us further up the train."

It...wouldn't look all that appropriate, but she couldn't just leave a blind girl to stumble around a potentially dangerous place on her own, right?

Right...?

With her hand firmly on Mari's shoulder, she helped her stand, letting the blind girl drape her arm over her strong shoulders.

"Alright, lean on me, okay? We're gonna head over to the bunch of asses I hear talking in the distance. If we're not alone in this, then god damn if those fuckheads leave us alone here."

Izuki helped Mari and together they made their way towards the bigger group. She saw the bunch of them, two guys and three girls, and made a loud whistle to attract their attention.

"Hey! Dipshits! Room for two more in your little snuggle pile?"

Gear
Primary

- The Hyperion model Gauss rifle is a magnetically powered rail gun, capable of launching its rounds through light or medium armour from as far as a mile away. Single shot, semi-automatic. Scope has integrated vision modes, capable of switching between normal, night vision and infra red.

Secondary

- The M23 machine pistol is a simple, compact machine pistol. Twenty round magazine, integrated silencer.

Melee

- Seated within the right bracer of his EHCS is a single blade, nanoweave. Able to cut through most light armour and flesh.

EHCS: Nemesis Class Scout Armour
The Nemesis is a take on a lighter form of the original EHCS frame. Intended for recon and scout units, the frame comes with lightweight armour, flexible and durable. The frame's helmet contains a varied amount of vision modes including infra-red, magnetic, low light and magnifications of up to 4x. Each individual lens is keyed into a central HUD system that displays information directly into the user's pupils.

Personality: Chipper and headstrong, O'Connor is more or less the smartass of the squad. If he isn't providing tactical coverage with his rifle, he's busy chatting up a storm and annoying everyone's ears off. He likes to make himself known, and isn't above noisy, loud partying or making really really bad jokes to try and lighten a serious situation.

Bio: Being the second youngest in the squad isn't lost on O'Connor. His experience in the Interum army was, safe to say, merciless, and being one of the top graduates from scout school has given him a little chip on his shoulder.

Before he enlisted, he was a runner. An athlete. Training hard for his high school's track team to maybe, just maybe, run a gold medal to bring up his ailing study scores. His stamina was amongst the best the school had to offer, though his speed was sadly lacking. He made up for it by training every day, keeping himself cheerful by listening to music or cracking jokes to his fellow athletes.

Then when his two best friends decided to enlist upon graduating, where else could he go? O'Connor followed right in their footsteps, and proved himself physically to be a pretty good navigator and marksman. After his basic training was through, he was selected to undergo specialist training as a scout and reconnaissance trooper. Obviously he did well in the physical department, but the mental stress slowly made him crack. The task of having to not only plan out a route but navigate it back and forth for one lone patrol, then sit there for roughly ten hours on watch while a friendly squad moved through wasn't something he could handle. Eventually he went AWOL, and was only found a week later, drunk off of cheap booze and spouting nasties to whoever got within range.

That was how he ended up at RO-36. A scout nobody wanted, with training that was woefully inadequate for the region. His verdict? Hopefully he'd annoy everyone here so much that he'd end up being sent home. The military life wasn't what he'd expected it to be.
