More interest. Yays :)

Here's the sheet. It's a bit different to some sheets, so feel free to take your time and ask questions. Or blister though it in ten seconds flat. I don't mind.

Please keep the headers in Bold please - it's much easier on my eyes. I'd have set up some BBCode so you could just copy and paste the headers with BBCode and all, but I don't think this new forum has that coding yet.
Good to hear, kids. Genuinely tempted to just go straight to OoC. I'm also having the same frustration with the not-quite-getting-past-the-planning-stage - I just don't know if there's some unwritten rule that, unless you sit on your Interest Check long enough, everybody ignores your OoC out of spite xD

In the meantime, I'm going to put together a character sheet and basically run this as an OoC because I really want this to be able to go ahead.
So, there are a couple of Harry Potter styley RPs kicking around, but, hey, I can't get enough HP, so here's another; mine. This'll be in the advanced section, btw.

Premise: the dark arts have re-emerged in the wizarding world. Some practise has always taken place, but the elicit trade of dark artefacts and such has skyrocketed. What's more, the UK now seems to be the international centre for this trade, a status it has never had before. Even the muggle world is suffering; every high-ranking muggle department is under heavy threat from mind-addling curses, steering the non-magical world too. Criminal gangs emerge and vanish in the time it takes to apparate. Though their members may be sometimes captured, no leader figure has ever been identified. It is clear that there is some figure or figures behind these developments, but who they are, only time will tell. These are dark times indeed. Who ya gonna call? The Auror Office, obviously.

Notes: so, clearly an HP RP. It's not all worked out perfectly yet, but think a political thriller/crime drama set in the Harry Potter universe. That said, I'd like to steer clear of canonical events and characters. I am a bit of a freak for the world JK created, though, so I don't like it when details about the world (how magic works, details about creatures and organisations etc) are gotten wrong. I don't mind adding or inventing aspects or elements of things (creating a new creature/spell, whatever), but I'm not a fan of JK's lore being contradicted. As you'll have guessed, we will be playing (by and large, I may allow for some exceptions) Aurors, the resident badasses of the Ministry of Magic, trying to deal with the day-to-day crises of this dark, modern era, and hopefully untangle the threads to reveal the true culprit. I'm after maybe three or four other people to join me. If I get the interest, I'll make an OoC.

Peace.

Theodorable said if you used a fictional country, as opposed to the United States

since not everybody knows how the american political system works... :)
So; I'm really really really struggling with this. I'm gonna take it back to the mushroom cupboard and see what grows. Thanks for your interest in the meantime, guys, but Other World needs a bit of space to breathe and grow, methinks.
Keeping my eye on this :)
I was looking at (there seems to be a theme...) a male Slytherin character working in the Ministry's Department for Magical Games and Sports following a short-lived but reasonably successful Quidditch career.
Good to hear. There's been a bit of interest (more than I was expecting), so I'll put together an OoC within the next couple of days. There's been some love for '20s styley, so speak now or forever hold your peace if you particularly hate that idea. :P
I'm still kicking about and fancy slitherin' about (fnar) but if this doesn't go ahead, I'll probably attempt to throw together an HP-World RP to get my fix anyway, so don't panic if your heart's not in it. :)
