Arcturus had noted, much to his discomfort, the shocked reaction Victor had showed his refusal. As if it were normal for one to so easily drink from the veins of another person, expected even. He'd had to suppress a shudder of revulsion at the thought. Luckily the conversation had moved swiftly onto the matter of rebuilding the clinic's defenses, allowing the young man to push such disturbing thoughts aside. Admittedly the church hunter had been right. As meager a defense as a locked door was, attempting to fortify the building any more from outside would merely trap the people they were trying to protect. However there was one thing the church hunter had mentioned which he found odd. Incense to keep the beasts away? What was that about? Before Arcturus could ask, however, voices had once more sounded out from among the sleeping patients.

While Victor cautiously greeted the newly awakened men, Arcturus quietly looked on, having nothing immediate to add to the conversation. His piercing blue eyes scrutinized the two and their attire, assessing them and the way they acted. One of the men possessed an impressive physique, impeccably fit and even taller than Arcturus himself. The other was less imposing but still held a striking appearance, seeming confident and intelligent. Both of them had visible scars, indicating to him some manner of experience. Though in what he had no idea. Both men wore clothing of fine make, by his reckoning, one looking to be a traveler of sorts while the other struck him as scholarly. However both men seemed to have a regal bearing about them. Arcturus quickly recognized it, these two were likely both of noble background.

The scholarly man seemed to be adjusting quite well to the situation he had awoken in, while the more muscular of the two appeared quite the opposite. In a way it was reassuring. Arcturus was no longer the only foreigner out of his element. However as the others in the room spoke, exchanging questions and information, one point was brought up which caused the young man some concern.

Contract? Yes, that's right. He had signed a contract before receiving his blood ministration. Yet as hard as he tried, Arcturus couldn't remember the slightest thing about it. He furrowed his brow, turning away from the others with a small frown on his features. Why couldn't he remember? Arcturus had always had an excellent memory, making it all the more strange that he would forget something so important.

Growing slightly frustrated at his uncharacteristic forgetfulness, he began searching through cabinets and drawers, methodically scouring the room for anything that might resemble legal documents. All the while he idly continued to eavesdrop on the conversation, glancing over to watch the massive man push one cabinet in particular aside. It seemed the little men had lead the others to the key. At least now they would be able to leave some small measure of defense behind when they left.

Still, Arcturus was anxious about finding his contract. The fact that he couldn't remember its contents was unnerving. Victor had said something about 'becoming a hunter and hunting beasts,' but this didn't aid his recollection one way or the other. So he continued searching, hoping to find some archive of blood ministration contracts.
It's gotten started. Not sure how far along I am but I expect to be finished either today or tomorrow. Sorry about the delay.
Ah, yes! I'm a couple weeks late on the draw, but I would indeed like to make a post. Sorry for the communication delay.

It's about time Arcturus did something...
Also! Regarding the memories of hunters after their blood transfusion, how much does the amnesia affect them? I think I read this being covered somewhere else in the thread, but I wanna double check.
I've always thought of Yharnam as more of a standalone city-state than as the capital of a larger country. A lonely, isolationist metropolis sequestered away in the mountains, having forgotten the position it once held as the capital of Pthumeru.

If it's to currently be the capital of a country though... I dunno. Yharnam has weird naming conventions and I'm bad at naming things. I'm fine with whatever y'all come up with.
Oh nice! What fortunate timing~

I can do that. The main reason why I tended to end up vanishing is, somewhat ironically, because I felt guilty about lurking when I didn't have the motivation to post. I didn't want it to look like I was on the site and not doing anything.
...Kind of a weird thing for me to think now that I put it to screen and read it back.

Anyways, I'll make an effort to be logging in and making contact so I don't disappear. Promise.
Crap, I died again. A year later and I'm still disappearing for a month or two between every post...
Really sorry about that, as much of a broken record as I may sound like at this point.

I wonder if people are put off by it being an rp that's already started and seems to have lost most of its players? Even though we haven't even left the clinic in the story, a year having passed since the rp's start probably looks like a lot. I know when I'm considering joining an rp, how long its been going and how many people are active in it is usually taken into account.

On that note, are you still interested in trying to continue? The sweet, sweet hunt always brings me back, but it occurs to me that my apparent monthly loss of motivation might make me ill suited to being the only player...
It's months late and in the middle of the night, but I've finally posted~!
I need no teasing to return here~

I hope some others will come back... I've also thought about it a bit and wondered if March might be a good time for another recruitment post? If memory serves me, I believe March is the month when the community Return to Yharnam event takes place. I figure there might be a greater chance of people with Bloodborne on the mind around then.
Hesitation. Arcturus paid close attention to the way Victor answered his question, noting the pause before any information was revealed. A pause of reluctance? He got the impression there was more to be said, even if this particular man truly didn't know much. Secret lamps and little men hardly warranted such apprehension in his opinion.

Although perhaps it was unusual to look another man in the eyes and tell him he was special because he could see little men. He might've hesitated too, if the roles were reversed.

Arcturus glanced at Marcus as the apparently church affiliated hunter headed over to the broken down door, taking the opportunity to try to gauge what the other man thought of all this. It truly was surreal. Just when he thought he was beginning to adapt, another unsettling secret made itself known. Not only had the blood transfusion made them hunters, it had done something else to them as well. Something that caused them to see phantom lamps and little white men. Something that may have even turned that one woman's veins a sickening black...

His bright blue gaze began to sweep the scarlet splattered room as Victor began talking again, those still asleep in the room occupying his thoughts. What would happen if, after they left, another party came to raid the undefended clinic? They couldn't just leave so many people defenseless in their cots. So while he listened Arcturus silently evaluated the furniture in the room. Shelves, tables, anything that could be used as a barricade. Those people needed some kind of-

Did he hear that right? Arcturus looked over from his inspection of an intact looking cabinet, distracted by talk of blood. Specifically, the blood of a girl named 'Lady Adelica.' The young man glanced between Victor and the girl on the other side of the room, visibly shocked by the suggestion. Perhaps he shouldn't have been surprised. Yharnam was renowned for its blood after all. Still the idea of drawing from a young lady's veins to inject into himself was... appalling.

"Ah, that-... I-... I'm afraid I must decline." The young man quickly answered, momentarily struggling with his words. He quickly threw on a politely apologetic smile which he flashed at both church hunter and church saint, not wanting to look like the culture shocked foreigner he was. Saint. Blood saint. All of a sudden he had a slightly better appreciation of the significance that title carried. "In any case you needn't worry about me, I can handle myself. Blood or no." Arcturus went on to insist, despite having recently been booted across the room by that very beast on the floor. Although he was mostly just trying to provide an excuse to not take the poor girl's blood.

Saint they call her...

"On the other hand, we should be worried about the others." Now quickly trying to change the subject, he gestured towards the smashed doorway. His voice quickly shifted from polite uncertainty to confident authority as he spoke, and he began to slowly pace across the room. "If whoever tried to capture us sends another force once we're gone, the patients-... The hunters in that room could be left defenseless." He explained, his foreign accent on full display by now. "Whatever we do, I suggest we make an effort to barricade them in before we leave."
I... May not've written a proper rp post in four months, but...
I'm still wanting to stick around. My brain's in a very slow mindset right now, but I'm trying to rally my writing muse to get something out.

Sorry again for being so consistently absent all the time...
It seems my attempts to stay communicative didn't go as I'd hoped. The reaper of motivation is sneakier than I anticipated.
I don't think I can post in full just yet, and I certainly don't want to hold y'all up any longer, so I figure I'll give that outline of Arcturus' next actions/words you asked for... Uh... A couple weeks ago...
Sorry I died so dramatically again.

------

Arcturus was taken aback by Victor's apparent inability to see the lamp. For a few moments he glanced uncertainly between the white garbed man and Marcus, giving a silent nod towards the latter to affirm that he too had seen it, before fixing his gaze squarely on Victor as more questions came. This is the point when he finally drew breath to speak again, only to be cut off by the sound of a harrowing scream. Almost immediately the hilt of his saber shifted back into his hand, brandished by reflex in preparation while Marcus went to check the door. Once the source of the scream had been confirmed, however, he once more gradually lowered his guard. Although his sword remained in his hand.

With a curious suspicion in his eyes, Arcturus once more turned them to Victor. "Do you know something?" He asked firmly, following on after the response Marcus had given before the scream.
