Fused At Birth

Keep calm. Keep calm. Ashe insisted as the sleepy and irritable Sarah was being led into yet another strange place in the middle of the night. Normally, she'd be asleep by now, but this change of scene kept that away. She hadn't even slept a wink on the ride here. Sarah really didn't want to have any of this. As far as she was concerned this was another crappy foster family.

Sarah closed her eyes partway through her new home as she was led to her room and reopened them quite a few steps down the white halls. Great, now she was sleepwalking. When her orphanage had told her the other day that she was going to be taken by another family she barely slept, when she was picked up and flown partway she couldn't sleep, and then the drive here left her wide awake with nervousness. This happened every time she went to a new foster home.

"Why did we have to get here in the middle of the night?" Sarah decided to voice her complaint. Her sleepy tone made her mumble, so she didn't receive a response.

Before she realized, Sarah was alone in a bedroom. She heard the door close behind her and she turned to face it with a dazed expression on her face. When did she get here? Twenty-eight hours of sleeplessness had really cut her awareness down. Maybe this was their plan? To bring her to her new home all worn out? Perhaps they had heard about how aggressively she fought with her last foster family when the came to pick her up, and decided to wear her out to keep her somewhat docile.

Sarah sat down on the soft blue sheets of the bed and sighed. She really didn't want to be here. This place was different than all the others, and not in a good way. Something about the walls left her feeling even more nervous. She could see that they had a sky blue wallpaper with fluffy clouds and even a sun - which was quite nice - but something about them made her uncomfortable. She decided to chalk it up to the complete change of location.

Relax, Ashe suggested calmly. Relax and go to sleep.

Sarah yawned deeply. Perhaps sleep was the best idea. She rested in the bed and glanced around the room once more before closing her eyes and cuddling with the stuffed alligator that she found on her bed. She saw a desk with painting supplies on it and a set of weights for exercise. She also saw a rubber ball that she could play with. She wasn't entirely sure why the painting supplies were there since she didn't really like to paint, maybe it was because she on occasion thought that painting was calming. Before long she drifted off into dreamland.

Definitely been a long time since I've been in an advanced RP, so any tips to improve this will be greatly appreciated.

Been a long time since I've participated in an advanced RP as I tend to play the high casual RPs, but this one really caught my eye I'll take a look at the OOC and start thinking about my character.

Shadows of Esteren which is a dark medieval fantasy, Of Dreams and Magic (ODAM) a new RPG that sold out completely before I got to their vendor booth and online so I had to preorder for a new publishing, Fantasy Age, and AMP Year One a superhero RPG with a very balanced system. I plan on running a game of Shadows at some point with my gaming group at home and my roommate wants to run Fantasy Age and ODAM.

Anise made eye contact with the wolf for what seemed to be forever, but even then she didn't back down. Finally Reus seemed to concede to her, but even then she felt she couldn't relax. Begrudgingly, she seemed to have earned its respect. He glanced over at the flashing lights that came from the clearing where everyone else was and Anise didn't follow his gaze. She knew that there were only enemies over there that would impede her and she trusted Tyaelaem to be able to escape himself. Then the shadows seemed to wrap around Reus, her, and the blue lantern and Reus shoved her behind him.

She moved behind him, but first she quickly grabbed one of the white wooden masks that were on the statues, something told her that she would be needing one of these. She wanted to make use of everything she had to free those stuck here even if they were likely to try and kill her while she did so. She knew she couldn't trust anyone; she felt even Reus would turn against her if she showed weakness. She watched the shadows while she put the mask on.

"Once this is over," she said to Reus. "I want to find a crashed ship, can you take me there?"

This darkness, these shadows. They were so thick that even the lantern dimmed. Something felt off about them, but then again everything about this forest was off in some way. She glanced at the lantern. She felt she had to make a decision about these shadows and act fast as they were closing around her and even affecting the lantern. She closed her eyes for a few moments thinking about her next course of action: she could wait to see what these shadows were doing, or she could break the lantern in the hope that it would free her of the darkness.

She sighed, even though she resolved to wait she felt she this was the best course of action. "Here goes." She raised the lantern above her head and brought it down onto a nearby rock as hard as possible to break the egg free.

I'm checking in on my phone guys! Just left the con I'll be back home and ready to post in 16~ hours. The con was amazing I got like 4 new roleplaying systems to have fun with.
