Background:
She was born in a surprisingly established community in a multifloored factory. The community was all held together by a strong sense of family. Bambiette's mother died shortly after her birth. Mother's dying from pregnancy was a common occurrence since "the end", medical professionalism was a dying practice.
She was named after the fictional character "Bambi" by her father, who fittingly saved her mother from cannibals in field. Bambiette's father was very highly regarded in her community for his bravery and dedication to keeping their community running.
Overall, she grew up very well loved and taken care of by the community. She was employed as a gardner to the "town's" makeshift greenhouse. She loved the plants with an extraordinary sense of felicity and took pride in caring for them. It filled her with a sense of pride every time their was a harvest, striving for better and better produce each season. As she aged, her skill was noted by others and she was promoted to a garden manager; She taught a small team of younger children how to weed and water the plants while she began working on seed germination. She truly began to regard the tiny seeds as her children.
There, however, happened to be a shortage of mechanical workers in the factory and unfortunately she was repositioned in her late teens. The community was dwindling during this time, sickness had afflicted many of the citizens and due to lack of medication and fear of infection many were killed for the safety of the community. It was an arduous time for everyone in the factory.
Bambiette would prove to be an efficient mechanic, although she often spent her free time in the greenhouse. During her time as a mechanic, she dealt specifically with repairing the pipes that heated the commune. She met a young electrician, Jack, whom would soon become her bestfriend. He would often accompany her to the greenhouse, where they'd spend hours talking and playing cards in the comfort of Bambiette's "home away from home".
The young electrician met a lovely girl when the pair were turning 19. Their relationship quickly became conjugal. Despite potential suitors, Bambi was often too concerned with her greenhouse to care for the semantics of relationships outside of work.
When she was 21, her father fell deathly ill. They both were aware that his life was coming to an end; And, the noble man that he was, he understood there was no point in using rations on a dying man. On a long winter night, Bambi's father asked her to shoot him with his revolver and end his life. He smiled and told her the pride he felt for her dedication and the relief he felt in leaving this hectic world. With a tear, and a flash; The deed was done.
Bambi became very reclusive after the incident. She became consumed by her work and would often spend many sleepless nights running useless maintenance on the pipes. Jack became increasingly worried at the distance she was placing between them, but the newly wed was busy with his pregnant wife. It was a lonely time for the young woman but she bore her pain with an elegance for the good of the commune.
The father had been an idol of strength in this community and Bambi placed it upon herself to keep that image. Times had gotten harder for the community, many people had died of scattered illness and their location had become too well known by antagonists gangs. The colony, asides from well established barriers, was not prepared for battle.
Weapons crafting was becoming a large aspect of day to day life, as attacks on the colony's became more abundant. People she had played with as children were dying around her to protect their home. She only became more reclusive and dedicated in her work as a mechanic. She dedicated herself to reinforcing the makeshift metal barriers. Their dwindling numbers coupled with the raise in attacks were omens of bad news.
Joy came to Bambiette's for the first time in years when Jack and his wife had a beautiful baby girl in the summer of her 24th year. The young girl was suitingly named Sunny. Jack named her after the only power source he knew would never fail in his life time. The little girl begrudgingly warmed her cold heart as she developed into a spry toddler.
It was the middle of the night, Bambiette was 25 years old, she was doing her rounds of the barriers. Suddenly a rupture of light and energy shook the very foundations of the earth that surrounded her, throwing her to the ground. She looked behind her and saw figures surging through leaping flames. They had managed to find enough TNT to blow through the wall. Screams of panic quickly ensued, Bambiette realizing the explosion had blown through Jack, his wife and Sunny's side of the factory.
The commune's soldier unit began to retaliate against the attackers.
She pushed through hordes of screaming citizens that flocked like locus away from the fire. Breaking into their room she saw the mangled body of Jack and his wife, fatally wounded, crouching over a swaddled infant.
"Take her and run. Please."
..So that's exactly what she did.
would it be okay if I had a firearm? obliviously she wouldn't use it if the situation did not call for it, but the impairment of an infant kinda calls for it; in a sense. I can clearly do without
