Name: Askras Titles: The Broken One Positions: Former Soldier; Rogue Race: Sahaar Origin: Ceskrik, Aludan Nebula Gender: Male Age: 24
Height: 6'2" Weight: 132 kg Skin Tone: Gray Exoskeleton Build: Insectoid, powerful musculature underneath exoskeleton Eye Color: Solid Dark Blue Dominant Hair Color: N/A Voice Description: Vocal capability limited to hissing, clicking, and hums.
External Synopsis: Thickly constructed and of durable material, Askras has a dark gray exoskeleton which consists of chitin mixed with calcium carbonate, with a rather humanoid construct, including a frontward facing head, torso, two arms with one elbow joint, a waist, hip area, two legs with a knee joint, and feet. This exterior layer, with its mixed compound improving toughness and durability, is socketed at the many points where his joints form, allowing seemless maneuverability while still providing maximum protection, with the thinnest areas being around the neck and the inner sides of many of his joints. In many areas, the chitin has a smooth surface, with small knobs around the shoulder joints to improve grip in these areas and thus strength. His head also shares many similarities to a human's, with ears on the side, a nose in the center, two frontward facing eyes, and a domed skull. However, unlike the mammalian model of the human, his mouth, positioned similarly to the Earthen sapients, actually consists of three pairs of mandibles on either side, each folding over to form a grate like appearance when the mouth is closed, with a jaw like construct hidden inside and unfolding only when he consumes food. His eyes, with a simple lense, are solid dark blue, comparable to a navy color, with his nose simply being two slits in the center of his skull and the ears being circular holes in the sides. No signs of hair or antenna exist on his cranium, a smooth dome forming the top to complete his appearance.
Anatomical Analysis: Insider the thick, chitin based exoskeleton, the structure of the Sahaar is a relative mixture of highly developed structures, with a balance between insect type organs and humanoid systems. The brain is the most similar to other humanoids, with lobes similar to humans despite the slight exception that emotional systems are somewhat less developed. However, Askras himself has also developed moreso in this area of the brain, giving him self preservation instincts and a level of individual thought not common to his species. The nervous system that branches from the brain to the rest of the body is relatively similar to a human, however, larger quantities of myelin exist in the Sahaar, insulating the nerves and improving signal speed. The circulatory system, again similar to that of humans, differs in the fact that the heart is positioned similar to a human spine, running vertically down the body, wirh five chambers that steadily increases the rate that blood is pumped throughout the body. The lungs, positioned so that blood arrives there before the heart, are also similar to human lungs, with a pair that can be found on each side of the torso. The rest of his chest, the arms, legs, and waist all consist of organ structures similar to other humanoids. Sahaar contain the same digestive system, plus a fully developed appendix to break down tough fibers, and the veins are also the same. Muscle structure, though considerably denser and attached to tendon like tissues on the exoskeleton, also patterns after typical bipedal humanoids. The only other major variation from human organs are large pads of resilin positioned in the area where the thigh meets the hip, providing a place to store vast amounts of potential energy for employment in the legs.
Mental State: As a member of the Sahaar race, Askras has a limited yet focused mental capability, his mind focused towards memorization of Sahaar combat tactics and formations, adaptation, the use of military equipment, and comprehension of the utilities of the Desh, the enemy he was deployed against. However, this specific specimen has also shown signs of a genetic anomaly, allowing greater levels of thought and individuality, a trait usually culled from Sahaar ranks. As such, he also exhibits ability to learn in non-combative areas, though has lacked exposure to such information.
Emotional State: While many Sahaar lack the necessary brain functions for emotions to be created, with the modern version of the species tools more than beings, Askras has had both the blessing and curse of a genetic anomaly, resulting in development where other Sahaar lack it. Only becoming prevalent later in his life, and during combat, the result is that many emotional aspects are unexplored by the specimen, with his experience being limited to fits of violence and, in tandem, rage. However, signs do exist that the Sahaar will experience emotional growth, a massive curiousity driving him when anger is in check.
Spiritual State: Due to what little of a culture the Sahaar have, religious aspects are overall left untouched by the Sahaar, with the closest to a diety type figure being the All-Mother of the species. That being said, Askras as an individual has begun to question what exists for him at the end of his journey.
Exterior Demeanor: When dealing with other organisms, suspicion is a constant for Askras, most of them ending up aggressively engaged by the individual due to his position in the military. However, since going rogue and escaping enemy space, it is unknown how he will react to a new, unusual entity.
Moral Position: With their positions as tools more than beings, the Sahaar in general have developed no moral compass, simply following orders provided down the chain to the letter. As a rogue, Askras will be presented with the difficult challenge of integrating in a multiverse where certain rights and wrongs are upheld.
Physical Capabilities: As one of the militant Sahaar, certain aspects of Askras's anatomy have been altered so as to provide for an efficient soldier when combating enemy units. One of the first of these was the thick, protective exoskeleton, with a density greater than the base Sahaar resulting in strength comparitive to metal armor. Underneath this thick shell, powerful muscles have been condensed to a point where he can lift 300 kg overhead with some struggle, giving him strength far above a human. The sacrifice for this, however, is a lack of speed, with his max running rate at approximately 17 mph, resulting in him preferring to walk Arcane Talents: N/A
