Personality: Satoshi’s personality can vary depending on present company. In the company of a superior, he keeps his tongue in check and speaks respectfully, even if he lacks any form of respect for that person. Around others, he’ll be polite, though not deferential, but will take the opportunity to make fun of someone if they provide him with a good enough reason. When he is more familiar with someone, he will drop the polite talk, though he’ll continue to speak his usual refined speech. If he’s with someone he’s particularly fond of making fun of, he will carry on making fun of them the whole time he’s with them, and it will take exceptional circumstances to make him stop.
Satoshi is usually up for anything he thinks will be fun, and won’t turn down an invitation from anyone who he isn’t particularly averse to hanging around. Even though he will likely come across sounding pretentious to people that listen to him talk, he’s actually quite flippant and likes nothing more than to just relax and mess around.
Bio: Satoshi’s family were once a wealthy noble family. However, by Satoshi’s generation, they have long since lost their fortune and few in Japan would have even heard of them, though they maintain a comfortable if not extravagant lifestyle. In spite of this, Satoshi’s father has always been reluctant to give up on his legacy and continues to pretend that the Kuroda family “means” something to Japan. He particularly heaped all his hopes and expectations upon Satoshi, pushing him to succeed where he had failed himself. Satoshi grew to resent his father and his pretensions to nobility.
When his father caught wind of Academy City, he decided to have Satoshi sent there to see if he had potential, hoping for him to become a prominent Esper. Satoshi did demonstrate the ability to control the air around him, and was eventually classified a level 3 Esper. His father was not satisfied with this, and continues to push Satoshi to develop his powers further. Satoshi simply hopes to get through his education and pursue a much simpler life, far from his family.
