@Lucius Cypher Sounds good to me I’ll be at a town only a days ride on horse from the my characters stronghold in the mountains and since I didn’t specify which town I was in I don’t have to change anything.
@Lucius Cypher Yeah I was just playing it as he just got the message and he was recruiting some people from Tembrele to take with him to fight the Orcs in the northern territories. I can edit my post or keep it how it is either way Hark is leaving very soon.
@Lucius Cypher Oh I actually didn’t quite get that my character already had left I thought he just got the message.
Hark stood on top of the small platform in the center of the courtyard of the city and looked around at the crowd that had amassed. He noticed curious and suspicious looks he got from the crowd because of his mask. He was flanked by four of his men on either side of him and Ragger and two others sat behind a small table on the ground in front of Hark. The rest of his troop was spread around the perimeter of the courtyard. His goal was to recruit as many people from this isolated town as he could to take back with him to the North to fight against the Orc war bands which were starting to raid the human territories. He waited a few minutes longer before deciding the crowd of about 80 people was the biggest it was ever going to get.

“Alright everyone, I am Hark, Grandmaster of the Frostbourn stronghold in the Northern mountains.” He said in a clear and assertive tone, “As many of you may not know Orc’s have started raids on our northern territories and I am here to recruit anyone who wishes to fight the growing Orc threat. Your salary will be ten silver coins every month along with the spoils of war.”

Hark held his younger for a moment and observed the crowd. They were all murmuring amongst themselves probably deciding weather the risk was worth the reward. After a few moments passed Hark started again, “If you are to enlist we will be leaving tomorrow at sunrise, you will have the rest of the day to enjoy yourself and pack some of your belongings.” Hark stepped down from the platform and his men dispersed into the crowd to answer the questions of the many curious townsfolk.
Will start my next post now glad to see things have moved along.
Hark had watched the drinking game go from bad to worse as the big bearded man was being dragged out by the tiefling as he choked on whatever was in his drink. Pretty soon he started to transform growing more and more hair over his body till he resembled a huge bear. The bear started going crazy breaking tables and knocking over people as it went. Soon the bear found it’s way on a destructive path towards Hark and Beth. “Oh crap watch out!” Hark exclaimed as he and Beth hopped over the bar onto the other side where her father was already taking cover.

“Is this the kind of fun you find out in the world?” Beth asked Hark with a wild grin on her face. Hark have her a shocked look, “This is definitely not my definition of fun.” He replied. As he sat against the bar counter he looked behind him to the small cabinets and started rummaging around and finally found 3 decent sized knifes. He looked over at the white faced inkeeper who seamed to be preying, “Can I borrow these?” Hark didn’t wait for a reply and he knew he wouldn’t get one and jumped up on the bar. The bear like creature was heading towards the tiefling who had drawn his sword and was trying to distract the big bear. He took one of the knives and threw it expertly right into the back of the bears leg. The bear gave a small roar of pain before scratching at the back of his leg to dislodge the weapon. While Hark knew to the bear the knife wound was a mere honey sting it would at least distract the bear and slow it down.
@Lucius Cypher you have a thing for Orcs don’t you?
@ALonelyParrot. Possibly most of us are waiting for the GM to post to move things along so hopefully he/she does.
Hark pushed open the door to the tavern and walked in headed for the innkeeper to get himself another drink. He hoped the innkeeper would just give him a drink without much trouble even though he had been kicked out earlier for challenging another drinker to a knife throwing competition which had ruined one of his daughter’s, Beth, paintings. He set down two coins on the counter, one for the painting and one for the ale, “Here you go now hopefully you can forgive me and fill my cup.” Hark said to the man but it was clear the words had passed right over his head as he was looking out into the crowd which Hark didn’t notice at first. There was the usual lot and then two apparent knights, the plainsmen which Hark wasn’t fond of, and a tiefling.

Hark rapped the innkeeper which seemed to break his trans, “The hell is going on here?” The innkeeper just sighed and rubbed his Broward pulled out a jug of ale to fill Hark’s cup, “That young fool of a knight there just challenged damn near half the bar to a fight.” Hark raised and eyebrows and waited for his cup to be filled before he took it and turned to the crowd again. It always puzzled Hark why these young knights always seamed to be so eager to start fights. For the time being though Hark has just sat himself back in the seat and waved to Beth who was positioned rather awkwardly in the middle, “Yeah Beth you might want to wait over here with me.” He said to his childhood friend who slowly backed away from the confrontation and moved over to Hark.
Hark leaned up against the back rail behind the group as they exchanged words taking in the night air. It was nice to see people around his age that weren’t those bastards from the plains always looking to stir up trouble. He looked over the blonde Elf for a moment. In the few days he’d been back he heard some stories of this apparent traveling healer who had been in the town for a short while helping out with those who were ill.

Hark nodded his head when he heard the Bible ask if he was from around here, “Yeah I was born and raised here. Only only the past couple of years I’ve been venturing out for work.” Hark looked over the town, “My families house is here and now that they’ve all passed I have 2 extra rooms and an attic space if you’re in need of temporary residence. It’s mostly unused as I never hang around for long.” Hark looked over to the Elf, “Especially you Elf I hear you’ve done a great service to this town in the short time it’s the least I could do.” Hark added with a small grin.

After he finished with his invitation Hark turned around and started walking back to the town. “If you need me I’ll be at the tavern refilling my cup.” He called over his shoulder as he looked into his empty mug.
