Hello all! I'm Ellmearra, but you're welcome to call me Elle (or any variation of my name, really, so long as it's not insulting!) I'm a 24 year old baker who had been roleplaying on forums for oh, about 14 years now (yikes) and decided, for various reasons, that it is time for me to stretch my legs a bit and see if I can find a new writing home. So while I may be new to this site, I am not by any means new to roleplaying. That also means I have had quite a while to figure out what really does it for me, and what does not, so this thread may seem a little overly-specific. However, fear not! I'm not a horrible, mean old troll living under a bridge- I can actually be quite reasonable. So even if not everything here speaks to you, if you are interested feel free to reach out to me anyway, and we can see if we can work around it! That said, let's get the boring stuff out of the way first, shall we?

• I'm not going to lie, I don't have the most consistent posting schedule. Sometimes I can post every day, even multiple times a day. Sometimes I can go a week, or even longer, without responding. Feel free to poke me if I go longer than a week without letting you know that I'll be delayed. Please do try to be patient with me, though. In return, I do not mind slower response times from my partners, and I won't hassle you for replies.
• I do tend to write a lot. Three paragraphs is the minimum that I try to aim for in a post, and I've consistently written ten or more for some stories. I don't expect my partners to match my lengthier posts, but I do kindly request that it should be rare that posts go below two or three paragraphs, and never below one.
• I write multiple characters, including multiple mains. Period. Please do not ask me to limit myself to one "main" character. I tend to get bored that way. I'll also have a whole cast of side characters. Again, I do not ask my partners to match this. I do prefer if you can bring two main characters, or at least one main and a couple major side characters, but I can work with less if you aren't comfortable with that.
• Romance is always a nice bonus in my stories, but not required. However, I really only focus on mxf pairings. Nothing against others, it just isn't really my cup of tea (ie negative past experiences, so I'm not really open to other options for a main pairing, although it can be discussed for side pairings.) Mature content is also a nice bonus, although again, not required. I tend to be pretty flexible in that regard, but any further details to that are to be discussed privately.
• I do generally prefer female characters, although I definitely play males as well (in case my penchant for multiple characters didn't tip you off to that.) I'll always have at least one female main character, and if you want romance, I ask that I be the female in one pairing (I'm definitely quite willing to double, though, if you are comfortable playing main characters.)
• I'm fine with equal partnerships. However, I'm an avid DM, so suffice to say I do not mind taking charge and driving the plot along. In fact, I'm quite good at that, so passive partners are quite welcome. Do not, however, expect me to take a back seat. I will always have a quite active role in the plot, and have no trouble throwing in twists and turns of my own, no matter who came up with the initial suggestion.
• I do tend to include some darker themes in my stories, hence why I tagged this thread for adults. If you have any triggers, or topics you would prefer be off-limits, please tell me from the beginning. I have no problem toning things down where you need me to, but I won't know to do so unless you tell me!
• I have a bit of a "you scratch my back, I scratch yours" philosophy. So long as you're willing to indulge me in some of my desires, I'm often more than happy to do the same for you. A bit of give and take, yeah? And very little is off the table there, so as long as you play nice with my wishlist, I'm more than happy to make your wildest fantasies come true. Just tell me what it is you want and we can work something out.

Alright! Now that that's out of the way, perhaps we should get into the fun stuff, yeah? So, if you're still with me after that, here's an idea of what I'm looking to write:

• To be honest, I'm not at all interested in any story that includes post-industrial revolution technology. That means no modern, no sci-fi, and honestly no historical past about the Renaissance era. I do tend to do a lot of Medieval inspired stores, real world or just using that general feel for a world, but I do others as well. I'm open to straight historical, historical fantasy, or even pure fantasy. Recently I've been in more of a low-fantasy mood, but that's negotiable.
• Most of my stories are going to be character-driven. So what do I mean by that? Well, for me, character interaction is usually the most important part of the plot. Where the characters get is not nearly as important to me as how they get there, and the relationships they make along the way. This is a big reason why I have multiple characters, and why I prefer partners who are comfortable with the same. I also prefer dynamic and sometimes shifting relationships, rather than falling into tropes (ie insta-love, or characters who always agree or disagree. That sort of thing.)
• I am, at least for now, mostly interested in politically-driven stories. Let's play at running kingdoms, forming alliances, perhaps even fighting wars- along with all the backstabbing and rumors that go along with life at court. Preferably this would be grittier and more realistic, not romanticized. If anyone here is familiar with Game of Thrones, think of something with a similar feel to that (although perhaps with a touch less blood and sex- unless that's your thing, in which case...)
• Look, I know this is going to be a rather niche interest, but... I'm honestly rather craving a choose-your-own-adventure style story, where my partners plays a couple main characters (or only one, I suppose, if two is a stretch for you) and I basically play the world around them and see how YCs' actions shape that. Yes, that would mean lots of plot surprises, and no promise of a favorable outcome (you'd have to earn that by making good decisions!) Preferably that would be combined with the above point about focusing on political drama, and again would be very character focused. If you're interested in this, for sure hit me up, because I do have some ideas for how I see this going that I would love to discuss in more detail.
• Specific plots... Eh, I have some. However, having hit this point in the thread, I'm a bit tired and ready to take a break, so I'll come back and add those at some point.

Ahem. So anyway, if you've managed to get through all that without being scared off, I'd love to hear from you, and hopefully we can come up with something great together!

Well hello there fellow internet dwellers! The name's Ellmearra, but since I know that's quite the handful (or rather, mouthful), you're quite welcome to call me Elle. Or anything, really, so long as it's not insulting. I'm not picky.

But I digress. For those of you who actually care about such things, I'm a 24 year old baker who had been roleplaying on forums for oh, about 14 years now (yikes) and decided, for various reasons, that it is time for me to stretch my legs a bit and see if I can find a new writing home. So I guess in this case I'm the old, and the site is new. I'm also a participant in tabletop RP (mainly as one heck of a DM, if I do say so myself), but nothing quite holds a place in my heart like written story telling.

Oh, but you want to know about my non-writing hobbies too? Very well. I enjoy reading (predictable, really), various tv shows, baking, archery, and plotting the downfall of my enemies. Oh, and snark. I'm very good at that one, in case you can't tell yet.
