Bio

Salut, I'm Ember Storm.

Just a fellow with some role-playing experience, I tend to play games like DnD and Pathfinder, or RPGs like DARK SOULS. I'm here because Kokotha just moved here.

Don't ask me to take part in your pony RPs; I'm probably not interested. I just like the show.

Duff looked around, quickly spotting a small ridge that overlooked the path they were on. "I'll be up there," he said. "Let's give these fucks a good beatin', eh? Teach 'em t'never mess with an Aborranian." Scrambling up the small crest, he spun around, dropped to a knee, and dug a pair of stripper clips out of that pocket. The one with his special ammunition. Ten rounds of Voidtipped ammunition went into the Cavalry Special's integral magazine and the bolt was slid shut. "I've got yer cover fire from up here. Don't get yerselves killed." He was grinning. Time to dance.

"What an abhorrent... paskiainen!" Astrid swore, reading over the cover of the documents. Her hands shaking out of anger, she reached out for the booklet in Johnny's hands. Someone had to see these. Someone big. Someone high up in one of the many other Caster groups in the world. Perhaps she would have to go back to the Old Keep with this. "Cowboy," she said softly, lividly, "Ssall we spread blood tonight? Punissment for enacting a fate worse dhan deadh on dhese unwilling people?" Her zeal from her time in the Old Path was returning tonight for this fight. "I am dhe swiftest of ssadows, dhe hidden blades, dhe spiller of dhe blood of my enemies. Where ssall my blades be pointed?" She hissed it out in an almost silent scream.

Duff saw the flash light up the room, pulling his revolver and sabre out as it happened. Anyone who came at him in some manner would be cut down without hesitation, either with a good slice for the Voidstone infused sabre or with a .455 calibre round from the gun. He kept close to Gregor; he was, after all, meant to play the part of a bodyguard. "Yeh sure we're gonna be able to get outta here, mate?" he asked, keeping a surprising speed up despite his old war wound. "Cuz even if we do, th'question remains as t'what we're gonna do after."

Astrid watched her opponents burn, her face impassive. Three less Children in the world. She felt little from their deaths, just a simple acknowledgement that her logic was confirmed, as she had known it would be. They could die like any other, and they would die, all of them in time.

With Johnny's mutter, she approached the table as well. "What is it that you see, Golden Boy?" she asked, examining the table herself.

Duff spun away from Gregor, pulling his hat down to cover his eyes with his right hand as his left went for his revolver. He was technically still a bodyguard, of course, and in this environment, his charge could very well get injured. Best he be ready to defend himself, Gregor, andthe other two if needed. Sure, they could all handle themselves, but it never hurt to have someone watching out for everyone... and with his lack of magic, that was what Duff would do best: stay back and provide cover.

Astrid watched Johnny flip free of the Mist she had thrown up and knew that now was her chance. "It is getting hot in here, yes?" she asked no one in particular as she snapped her fingers. At that, the Mist she had thrown up under pretense of concealment burst into eerie purplish fire with a barely audible fwoosh. It wasn't a smoke screen at all, but a cleverly applied bit of fuel! Astrid nocked another arrow to her bow just in case those three paskiaiset managed to survive being burned alive.

Duff kept his cool, as any bodyguard worth his salt would. Even so, he stood with one side facing away from the walking ball of lard, his left hand on the grip of the Type IX slung low on his left thigh; a revolver would be a much more manageable firearm than the rifle slung over his shoulder. He knew he was a better shot than that guard was. Without magic, he had honed his skills to near perfection, something many casters used magic to help with. If he got the first shot off...

No. Now wasn't the time. Gregor could think fast and think hard, and his flashbang might just have much less of an effect on Duff anyways thanks to that resistance he had built up. If the flashbang went off, that was Duff's time to draw and fire. Sure, they weren't Voidtips, but they were still solid lead in .455 calibre. Weren't many humans at all who could withstand a bullet of that size wreaking havoc on their vital organs. Do what needs to be done, Gregor, he thought, aiming the mental command at Gregor as if the man could hear it. I've got yer back, mate.

Astrid pulled her thumb off the bowstring, loosening her grip on the nock of the razor arrow and letting it fly towards their assailants. If they had enough time to register the arrow in flight, they might notice how the head began to sharpen itself as it flew, the Liquid Rune activating as it was launched through the air. Without waiting to see if it hit, Astrid threw her cloak of Mist at her opponents, intending to blind them as she somersaulted to the left.
