Well I have reached the level where it should be good enough for the 'public' to see my first CS, although I have a sense that it is an eternity-project where I will constantly edit it. Anyway without further ado here's my first advanced CS (I expect a round of applause):
Shinigami
Name: Akira Minoru.
Appearance:
Age: 208.
Race: Shinigami.
Rank: Lieutenant of the 3rd division.
Spiritual Pressure Color: Black, black as the darkest night with a dark icy blue outline.
Personality: Akira is a trickster, he loves to tease other people and play pranks on them - in that sense he is actually quite childish, even as a lieutenant. What he loves more than pranks however is to have fun in any way possible - which a lot of the time brings a sense of calm and lightness to any mood. While quite the joker Akira is also a rather energetic person, he is always up for some sort of fun - and in most cases his definition of “fun” tends to include some variation of trickery - and generally just do what he seems fit to do at that specific time. This sort of character carelessness can at times make him appear rather random - and at times rather annoying as he tends to tease - or joke - around with those around him. This also explains why he has a rather lazy attitude towards his official work as a lieutenant - though he do enjoy watching his division work their asses off, just not his own. Because of this you can often find him somewhere hidden (usually in a tree or something similar) while enjoying a drink and watching the scenery around him.
However whenever you are near him you cannot help but feel a sense of unease, as if he hides a darker side inside of him, like he is planning some dark plan in secret, ready to stab you in your back as soon as you turn your attention away from him. To be honest this is indeed true: He is, like his Zanpakuto, a trickster, a manipulator and a schemer. He always chooses what fits his situation best, what gives him the biggest advantage and because of this some people find it very hard to truly become his friend or just trust him - despite his seemingly uncaring and fun-going persona. This, ironically enough, is also what makes him such a good fighter; he loves the sensation of fighting, and therefore he constantly trains and improves himself and in fights he can quickly scheme and evaluate the situation and use he opponents weaknesses and strengths against themselves - using all kinds of tricks in order to gain the upper hand. Furthermore because of his seemingly random characteristics at times it can be hard to read him during situations like fights.
Despite his high intellect and abilities he always holds his powers and abilities somewhat hidden (in fact he has hardly spoken to anyone about his shikai’s abilities), he doesn't show his true potential and only a few knows the true scope of his abilities - this is, once again, to improve his own situation by surprising his foes and quickly deal a lethal blow. This is also the reason he wears such a joking and uncaring persona most of the time.
However when he is alone - or the situation requires it - he reverts back to the persona he hides away for the general public: he can instantly turn from a go-happy person to a serious and manipulative ‘idiot’ (other shinigami's word, not his own). At times this means that he can become rather rude if he gets tired of hiding behind he outwards persona, especially if a character annoys him.
Of course he also knows when to be serious - he wouldn't have gotten the rank of lieutenant of the 3rd division if he couldn't - and when he is needed to he will take the situation gravely
seriously and do his best to get the most out of the situation. This most of the times mean that he is a team-player, he knows how to protect and give orders to those around him so that they have a higher success rate (this is also the characteristic that, despite his other personality-traits have earned his high praises not only in the 3rd division, but also in the general eye of the Gotei 13).
History: Akira does not remember anything before he woke up as a young child in one of the poorer quarters of the Rukongai. Well mostly nothing, he has started to remember bits and pieces of his memory over the time he has been a part of the Gotei 13, but all of the memories that have resurfaced all brought horrible feelings of sadness, fear and pure despair. It seemed like, to him at least, that all the memories that he had of the world of the living was filled with dark clouds and rain, not a single spot of sun, almost as if his whole life of the living had been without hope and happiness. But how had he died? The question has often echoed in his mind, but even to this day he has no recollection of that specific event. He simply woke up one day after a long dream and was suddenly in in the plane of the not living. The memories he made here was, if not happy, at least not filled with sorrow and dark rain.
The first thing he remembered was the blue sky with the sparkling white clouds painted upon it. He was in a forest when he ‘woke up’ - it was like he just suddenly came to exist, however he was still all alone. Somehow waking up with no idea where he was or what he was supposed to do - and so he started to walk. Walking turned into wandering, slowly he realised that he was dead, but yet still alive - a detail that kept puzzling him - and as he wandered slowly he started to realise something: the living around him either appeared insane; talking to themselves, trying to hit the air, screaming in pain or just looking around in pure puzzlement like they didn't understand what was happening - or worse: sometimes small animals just disappeared in what appeared to be particles of some sort.
Akira had wandered around for what seemed like years, sleeping in the gutters and begging for food - and even stealing when he couldn't get anything, yet the weird episodes still kept appearing around him. But one fateful day he was discovered by a wandering Shinigami. Feeling the reiatsu that Akira unconsciously emitted he followed him. He didn't really explain the situation - rather he kidnapped Akira, realising what would happen if he didn't - and took him to the city of the Shinigami. Here, after having been explained what was the cause of his misery, Akira was enrolled in the Shinōreijutsuin.
While the shinigami that took him in wasn't a powerful shinigami it soon became apparent that Akira was a natural in of himself. He had no trouble entering the Academy by sheer reiatsu alone and when his first classes started he seemed to know and understand the way of the sword and the arts of Hohō almost by instinct. However he wasn’t a genius by any stretch of the word, for he had great troubles in his Kido classes - and while he would seem like a person to also excel in Hakuda, he didn’t really care for hand for hand combat and thus his abilities were severely limited. His way of fighting was only with speed and his sword. This single minded focus on certain areas - and possessing a natural instinct for them - made him famous already within the first half year after joining the academy. He seemed to naturally fit into a fight - it was almost like he was enjoying it too much some could think. It was these skills that made him famous: in less than a year after having joined the academy he was out in the field with the older classes, fighting and training in real combat - slaying hollows and helping his fellow shinigami even before he had graduated from the academy.
In such a tale one would assume that Akira would graduate long before his own class, however this was not the case, sadly. His focused skill-set proved to be his downfall. While he technically could rival those that graduated in the arts of Zanjutsu and Hohō - and even outmatch them in pure raw reiatsu - his skills in Hakuda and Kido was far behind even those of his own class. What this meant was that he didn’t graduate until a year after his own class, though while he had been held back he was still able to participate in missions - and it was this that truly ‘saved’ him: While some of his abilities still lagged behind his raw reiatsu combined with his other skills and his almost natural adaption in a fighting situation meant that he had garnered quite a reputation outside the Shinōreijutsuin as well - and finally, after 4 years in the academy Akira graduated.
However once again his particular focused skill-set meant that he didn’t receive any special treatment. He was placed in an unseated position within the 11th division, but this was ironically just what he needed. It soon became apparent that he was a natural genius once he came outside the world of Kido and books. It was during this time in the 11th division that he started to bloom, however because of the nature of his Zanpakuto his time was limited: his Zanpakuto was not a direct attack-type. The time it took for him to move on from the 11th division was 91 years. At that time he had achieved a position as the 3rd seat within the division, but now at the age of 137 he left that spot open in order to join the 2nd division in what could essentially be seen as a demotion as he took the seat of their fourth in command.
Once again Akira blossomed under his new captain; his already incredible skill in Shunpo and Zanjutsu further developed - and he even began to take an interest in the arts of Hakuda, yet he still couldn’t seems to bother with Kido, despite his captain’s tries.
This lasted for 48 years - but this time it wasn’t his skillset that made him switch positions, no it was his personality. His rather go-happy and trickster persona caused a great deal of friction with the other members of the division that prided itself with professionalism and efficiency. The other captains also noticed this, having taken note of his abilities and achievements over the time-period since his graduation, it was clear to them that he was more than capable, but they just had to find the right soil for him to bloom in.
In a random case of luck Genji Nakanō, the captain of division 3, didn’t have a lieutenant in his division at the time, Akira was promoted quite rapidly from a mere 4th seat. Many didn’t agree with this - especially his former colleagues in the 2nd division - his lack of professionalism in the new lieutenant was something that worried most - even within the ranks of the 3rd division. Luckily Akira seemed to fit instantly in, his persona seemed to naturally go with the flow of the general personality of the division - and his abilities quickly gained him a lot of respect. However his lack of professionalism wasn’t something that was so easily extinguished: he did his work, but nothing more - and often his captain or other seated members had to find him and drag him back to do his work. This has been Akira’s life for the last 23 years, and although he has caused much trouble, his skill has proven reliable in the necessary situations for him to gather the respect a lieutenant should have - despite his shortcomings...
Other: Akira stands at around 6 foot 2 inches with a lean and athletic body. He has naturally fair skin, but because it has been touched by the sun it holds a tanned tone to it. He usually wears a traditional black and white Shihakushō. Underneath, however, he wears a much lighter black shirt that envelopes his upper body tightly. This is to allow him maximum freedom when he fights and uses Hohō, while a pair of baggy black pants aids to hide his movements.
Shinigami Skills: Akira holds an incredible amount of reiatsu - something that has proven to be very important because of his Zanpakuto’s abilities. However he isn’t just a brute with a large uncontrollable reiatsu. Through his training to achieve proper control over his Shikai he was forced to get a better control over his reiatsu for it to work without wasting any unnecessary energy. His fighting style has also adapted to fit his Zanpakuto’s abilities: he focuses on speed and agility which has resulted in him becoming well known to be among the best and quickest users of Shunpo and a great master in the arts of Zanjutsu. However, as mentioned earlier: this focus on achieving this level of skill has come with a price: he is adepts at best in the arts of Hakuda and he can only handle Kido at the level of an unseated officer.
Zanpakuto
Name: Torikkusutā
Type: Kido, illusion.
Spirit Appearance:
Torikkusutā usually wears a black robe, covering his head with a similarly colored cloak, in the style that Gin had during his time with Aizen. Furthermore Torikkusutā tends to hide his face with a black and red mask which gives him an aura of wickedness - however Torikkusutā has stated that it is mostly to play around with Akira :
This leaves much of its appearance hidden away in shadows and usually you can only see a pair of burning blue eyes through the openings of the mask. It would otherwise appear to be a 16-year old teenage boy, though because of his appearance and his personality he holds an aura of ‘wickedness’ around him.
It is Torikkusutā’s personality that has caused Akira much trouble as Torikkusutā also loves to fool around and play games, often hiding facts, lessons and details from Akira just to increase the level of “fun”.
Inner World: Akira’s inner world is completely black and white; a white desert stretches on forever with a black night sky hovering above. The only light is from the big white moon looking down on the world. Here and there are bare leafless white trees, all burning with an eternal black fire with a crimson outline (think Hueco Mundo like).
Sealed Appearance:
Torikkusutā is a sword in the style of a Wakizashi with a length of the blade of 20 cm. It is both black and white, with a rather unusual form: there isn’t technically a proper handle, instead it appears that the blade’s metal continues into the “handle” that is basically metal wrapped in what appears to be white cloth/bandage. This cloth wraps tightly around the metal of the sword, while some of it is loosely hanging from the end of the handle.
Shikai: “Kuro no Torikkusutā ” (“The black Torikkusutā”).
Shikai Release Command: “Disutōshon Torikkusutā” (“Distort Torikkusutā”).
Shikai Appearance: Torikkusutā appears almost as if it hadn’t changed, though it “grows” so its blade is just a few inches shorter in length compared to a regular katana. It also changes to a completely black colour, while the cloth changes from a whitish color to a dark crimson red. The most drastic change is that it multiplies so that Torikkusutā is now two blades instead of one, with the cloth now connecting the two blades.
Shikai Skills:
1. “Torikkusutā no Saidan” (“Cutting of the Trickster”):
Whenever Akira cuts a target Torikkusutā injects some of his reiatsu into the body of the opponent where it is able to manipulate the neurologic connections within the target's brain. If Akira had to explain it himself he would say that whenever he cuts someone he wil get one “command” over the target. This command is, due to the nature of his zanpakuto, in the realms of illusions. What this means is that he can choose one “command” over the target’s senses, submitting them to some form of illusion of his choice for a certain amount of time. While this is indeed a powerful ability it does have some weaknesses; firstly, the time that the target can be submitted to one of his illusions is directly related to where the cut is made and how deep it is (more specifically how much reiatsu that was injected through the brief time the sword had penetrated the skin barrier, the longer and more powerful the "command" can be). A thrust through the arm would for instance allow him to submit the target to a illusion that last vastly longer, or is more consuming than a small cut in the arm, however this all comes down to the amount of reiatsu he is able to insert into the body of the enemy, it is simply easier to insert more reiatsu through larger wounds, but it is not a necessity.
Secondly: While most individuals won’t feel anything but the pain of one of Torikkusutā’s cuts, skilled users may be able to feel a faint ‘disturbance’ whenever they are cut by Torikkusutā. The reason for this is that Akira injects his reiatsu into the wounds of his opponents. It should also be noted that the more reiatsu he injects, the easier it is to detect and counter it.
Thirdly the “commands” are still only illusions, what this means is that they cannot actually cause any physical damage, the only damage it can cause is immense psychological pain and sometimes insanity if the illusions are kept for a long period of time (this however needs for Akira to constantly wound the opponent). Each cut requires Akira to inject the wound with reiatsu, thus draining him.
2. Disutōshon (simply: “distort”):
Torikkusutā constantly emits small amounts of reiatsu which allows Akira to be able to distort the senses of his foes for just the briefest of moments, even without having cut them. This gives him a chance to dodge attacks in the last second or distort his enemies senses for another purpose - however these small “distortions” can only last a few milliseconds, thus he usually only this ability as a final form of defence against attacks. For most opponents this is merely felt as if something is “odd” - it wont leave them helpless, but it can mean that if Akira uses it correctly it can be the difference between life and death.
A negative side of this ability is that it, like Torikkusutā no Saidan, requires Akira to constantly release reiatsu for it to work.
It can definitely be argued that Torikkusutā is a strong shikai, however because it drains Akira's reiatsu more than most shikai-releases would in order to work, it does mean that Akira isn't too keen on fighting with his shikai – and as such is it rare for him to draw it in battle.
Bankai Appearance: Unknown - even his captain does not know how far he has come in the training towards achieving bankai.
