Good afternoon. I suspect, that I'm probably a bit older than many here. My interests are tabletop gaming, using my own system and others. Mostly fantasy or sci fi, though I wish I had the time to some historical, such as WW2 Cthulhu or occult Napoleonic. Favourite films are, Sci Fi:- Blade Runner(Directors cut. If you disagree, watch Dangerous Days, the making of Blade Runner), The Matrix (First Film Only. Film 2, .A lot of heavily tanned subteranean dwellers at the dance. I suppose the fat pasty ones didn't get invites) and Alien. Favourite fantasy films:- Lord of the Rings (Why didn't they ride the eagles to Mordor?) Harvey (With James Stewart) and Ironman (Any, with RDJ, dicking about). Am particularily with game mechanics, scenics and figures. Hope to speak to you soon.

Generic Introductory Post

Role play and mass battle. Any time period but fantasy as number one with Sci Fi a close second. I use my own systems and, am very intersested in game mechanics (So, I'm a nerd). Hi, I'm new to the forum but, old in the gaming. Writing your own is the way but, I am happy to suggest a few ideas. How do you play? I ask this because , as an older(sad) gamer, we sit round a table. Do the kids still do this?

How to keep a roleplay from dying?

Try changing the way you play. As an old fool, my games are people around a table, with figures and scenics. Rather than suspend a campaign, or let it die of disinterest, get up from the table and only play by conversation in the pub(Referee has the right to correct anything said whilst blazing drunk). Try resting the campaign, with players writing to you, then moderate their actions. Sometimes a players personal desires can trigger a plot line. Other ideas may fit more with your life, but the idea is the same, try a change, then get back to it.
