I have too many passions to be able to commit to any one of them, but even though I want to commit to one, I can't possibly choose.

Free time is less 'free', and more 'extensive but highly regulated by various external sources' time.

I was thinking, @Eru Iluvatar, perhaps we should just use an Inhuman logo for our posts. A bit of consistency among posts would be an interesting change in the RP aesthetic. I understand if you object to that however. I can think of a few reasons why you rightly would.
I would, but due to our separate storylines it may be confusing for some. What I WOULD say, is when we inevitably collab, instead of posting from the perspective of our main characters - we put the logo as Inhumans and collaborate on any and all of them.
For the Spider-Man / Loki collab, did you use TitanPad? I've found that's probably the best easy to use collaborative writing software on the Internet.
I got here too late, but I am very intrigued to discover what he wrote :D
Same as Nightraider, I'll have my third post up soon - and then I'll get another app into play. Don't know if I'll rework Purple Man or go in a different route, we'll see.
Anyone else seen that Ruby's character sheet for Thor no longer exists?
Nice post, Eru! Can't wait to respond. Which should be tomorrow.
I'm working on a Hawkeye application, so hopefully that will be up in the near future (I hope sooner rather than later).
Awesome.
Fun fact, the rogue Inhumans were featured firstly in the iconic Incredible Hulk Annual #1, and they worked for Maximus for years to come and fighting the Hulk a good many times.
Since the introduction of Black Bolt, I have subsequently dispelled any further caution in the Inhuman Royal Family and name-dropped them all, bringing in Gorgon at the same time. Sorry if this inconveniences anyone, especially you NY. Just message here if you want to claim any others for your immediate supporting cast.
No, I was meaning to say earlier to include Gorgon as my team. It should be noted however that Black Bolt almost doesn't exist at this point and most people know Rynda and Agon were the last rulers of the Inhumans. I wouldn't mind Karnak discovering Black Bolt's identity, however, through some research. I haven't read your post, so I don't know if it interferes with any ideas I had. I'll let you know if I notice anything.
I didn't mention Blackagar, but I said that Maximus was the King. I also didn't say Rynda and Agon were dead, just that they were critically wounded in the battle. Also I figured out from your information when the battle would have took place and dated it. I guess we can share Gorgon, the core characteristics can easily be transferred, though I'm not planning on keeping him as a main supporter for that long.

Inhumanus Historia [1900 - 2100 (Human Designation)] Extract 417 Octo Mensis, 2006 (Human Designation). Six hundred Kree militia units land three miles south of the Great Refuge's borders, by the Atlantic Ocean. Met by King Agon, Queen Rynda, Prince Maximus, nineteen of the Royal Guard - including Lords Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, Ladies Medusa and Crystal, and three thousand seven hundred and two Inhumans. Heavy casualties on both sides: Three hundred and fifty-four Inhumans killed, thirty-nine Inhumans critically injured, including King Agon and Queen Rynda, nine hundred and seventy-five Inhumans moderately to minimally injured.
Karnak thought of the tumultuous events in the history of Attilan and it's inhabitants. Just seven years prior, there had been great proceedings regarding the creation of the Inhumans. Though most of the facts were still largely shrouded in mystery, the population had learnt that it was an ancient and powerful alien race named the Kree that had created the Inhumans, supplying them with everything related to Terrigenesis, and likely the unheard of materials and technology needed to distinguish the advanced race from their primal counterparts, the humans. It was not known if the Inhumans were human before the Kree's coming, or if they were a different species entirely. Karnak supposed that was for King Maximus and the current regent board to know, if indeed they knew at all. Being a member of the Royal Family did not mean that Karnak was consulted in the matters of provenance, nor the secrets the rulers were rumoured to hold. Perhaps it was Karnak's antisocial tendencies that left him in the dark on some secrets. He was well known for his intelligence, so matters should not have been kept from him because of his mental capacity. Regardless being a, however unwilling, member of the Order of Wisdom meant that important decisions the King chose not to undertake were to be made by he and his accomplices. As Maximus was away from the Refuge - an action that had shocked many traditionalists in Attilan - the matter had been brought to Mander, the leader of the Order. As tumultuous events went, this escape by the group of Inhumans was a prominent one. "Referred to as, respectively, Falcona, Stallior, Nebulo, Timberia, and Leonus, the rogue group have apparently adopted names related to their Inhuman skills and appearances. Falcona, she is a conduit and master of the brains of nearby birds - scientifically, most bird's beaks contain a sort of magnetic homing device. Falcona's brain emits a strong electromagnetic field inhumanly attuned to the bird's material, meaning she can draw the birds to her and command them to perform basic tasks - land, move here, attack... Stallior is a combination of a man and a horse, coincidentally the transformation occurred in the way that he closely resembles the mythological creature of the centaur in human mythos. He's fast and strong, and not to be underestimated. Leonus is similar to Stallior, in the way that his physiology has been combined with an animal, yet different - as he is still recognisable as a man, albeit with a faintly bronze skin, masses of hair, yellow eyes, sharp teeth, and so on... and his mental state has been largely reduced. His brain acts on impulses, simple commands, just like the natural lion - though Leonus has considerable improvements on the animal's abilities. Timberia has become one with the earth since Terrigenesis. She no longer lives through the normal human state, instead she survives as the common plant does - requiring photosynthesis, water, light. She travels in a fascinating way, twisting the roots and plants around her, making them share their mass with her so she can travel along it. Her appearance is similar to the middle bulk of a tree, and she has noticeable roots bulging out of her skin. Finally, the most strange of all, there's Nebulo. During Terrigenesis his physical form was, well, extinguished. He exists as an invisible, partly intangible being. But instead of not existing entirely, he operates in two dimensions, appearing as a shadow of his invisible self on walls and structures. He can interact with anything he can lay his shadow upon. Definitely the most dangerous of the group..." The ambitious Order man, a middle class analyst named Bhurk, finally finished - trailing off awkwardly, probably entertaining fanatical thoughts of Nebulo and the rogue group. "Thank you, Bhurk," Mander rose from his head seat, signalling the analyst to move away from the spotlight, "As you can surmise, each member of the group is deadly in their own right. Together... truly a force to be reckoned with. Now, it is imperative that this event stays out of public knowledge for the immediate future. The knowledge could send future subjects of Terrigenesis askew, plus the relatives of the group could take any action under the indisputable stress this all would cause them. With the... unprecedented absence of our young ruler, it falls to us to cover all ground regarding this subject: the discretion, the handling, and the execution." Mander eyed the men and women in the room intensely. He trusted each soul around the table, likely partly because of their subservience to him. Mander's eyes lingered less on Karnak, likely partly because of his opposite attitude to his father. Nevertheless, Karnak's skill was indisputable - he would most definitely be appointed a pivotal task in the event. Karnak had not noticed yet, but there was another figure in the chamber - not sat at the Order table, but shuffling loudly at the far end of the room with impatience. Karnak turned to look but Mander spoke up again, confirming Karnak's growing suspicion: "You may be thinking that who among us will be in control of actually apprehending the group - bringing them back home to the Refuge, so we can find out what went wrong during their transformation. Thus, I took the liberty of inviting our most successful candidate in strategic skirmishes to learn all the facts and begin planning. He will be in control of tracking down and saving these rogues, before they do anything catastrophic." "Too right." The loud, hulking figure stepped out of the peripheral shadows, turning whatever heads were not already turned in that direction. Karnak groaned internally, as he stared at his close relative - Attilan's celebrated military expert: Gorgon. Gorgon grinned, showing large, jagged teeth littered with bits of mangled food from his last meal - or ten meals ago. "Let's get this party started."
Player Name: The New Yorker Character Name: Blackagar Boltagon Moral Alignment: Hero Affiliations: The Inhumans Character Bio & Background At what some considered the new height of Attilan culture and societal stability, two of the greatest and most powerful minds bore a child, one of limitless potential and ability even so young as he was. His mother Rynda, Director and first chair of the prenatal care center and Queen of the Inhumans, had organized a project to subject her unborn child, still but an embryo, to the mutagenic effects of Terrigenisis. The baby was born with the unwieldy ability to absorb and disperse the electron energy around him. In order to protect the baby and others around him, Blackagar was put into a hyper isolation chamber and settled into an energy harness. This is where he would be raised for the next 15 years in relative ease, learning to control his powers along with everything else the Inhuman heir apparent learns. This is where his story of achievement and success ends. Unbeknownst to the prodigal son, sheltered deep within the Attilan Royal chambers, he had a brother, indeed, a twin brother. Maximus was paraded about as a trophy. He was smart, powerful, sophisticated, and docile, easily brought out during speeches or feasts. Everyone knew, however, that Maximus was just the opening act, simply an appetizer for the main course. Indeed, everyone knew this, except Blackagar himself. Max became thoroughly unhappy with his lot in life, his hampered dreams and aspirations. He’d been doing research, using his uncanny powers of mind control and astral projection in order to delve deep into the darkest secrets Attilan had to offer. And at the center of it, he found the Kree. Maximus conspired throughout his adolescence to find some way to usurp his brother’s position, and perhaps even that of his parent’s. Max learned that the tales and legends of Attilan being the Great Refuge, a totally isolated nation, were complete fabrications. The Inhumans and the Humans roamed the lands together at one point, indeed, some still do. So why should they be allowed to flourish beyond the confines of the bubble and Max could not? So, he devised a terrible plot to exploit this web of lies. If the people of Attilan were content with delusions and false pretenses, Maximus could provide better than anyone. Max went about signaling the Kree to the Inhuman’s location. He did so in such a way that the Kree would be at a disadvantage when they arrived, doubling down on his own people by warning them before-hand. When the exploratory forces of the Kree landed in the Atlanitc they were met by a bevy of some of the most powerful members of the Royal family and their companions. Max was among them. He controlled the battle like a marionettist, making sure both his mother and father were critically wounded, but also making sure the Kree were forced to flee. With the first strike of the invasion out of the way, the King and Queen in dire conditions, and Maximus coming out victorious, all that is left is to occlude Blackagar. With each attentive and caring mind clouded by Maximus’ incredible mental abilities, he is able to take the throne at the age of 16. With this seat of power Maximus is able to keep his parents disabled and unconscious while his brother is locked in a cell no one knows of. For five years he rules, and no one seems to notice that he’s not supposed to be there. Perhaps because of how easy everything is. Perhaps it’s because the Kree threat is behind them and in front of them at equal measure. Max cares not as he sips wine from his gilded cup in the throne room. He makes trips to the surface every few months without anyone noticing—well, almost anyone. The irony of the situation is that Maximus revealed himself and his plot to his brother, letting him rot in the cell with only his thoughts and a few scraps a week to feed him. Any attempt Maximus made to control his brother failed, as did his attempts to impose amnesia. For five years Blackagar lives in a darkly lit chamber, fastened tightly into an energy harness. He meditates in order to stay calm, retrieve sweet memories of when his parents would come to visit him. For five years he lives in exile in the Royal chambers. All the while he is periodically taken care of by his first cousin Medusa, a beautiful girl with the sweetest caring eyes, and rolling hills of crimson hair. On Blackagar’s 21st birthday Medusa is sent to feed the young man, usually aided by Maximus, who wipes her mind afterwards. This time, however, Maximus rushes off on an expedition to the Antarctic, leaving the two together without surveillance. On this day Blackagar will finally be free. Powers and abilities Ambient Particle & Electron Harnessing: Black Bolt's primary superhuman ability is the power to harness electrons. The speech center of his brain contains a unique organic mechanism that's able to generate an unknown particle that interacts with the electrons he absorbs to create certain phenomena that are determined by his mental control.
Inhuman Physiology: Like all Inhumans, Black Bolt's natural physiology grants him a number of superhuman physical attributes but because of the genetic tampering before birth, Black Bolt's physical abilities are significantly superior to most other members of his race.
Sample Story Arcs Blackness descends: Blackagar escapes from the prison his brother has made for him and frees the Attilan’s from their own mental prisons. That’s only the beginning as the Inhumans face old and new threats. Blackness repents: After picking up the pieces and retrieving lost ties, Black Bolt must find a new home for his people. Blackness ascends: The Inhumans, in their desperation and sadness, look up to the skies for a reprieve.
Loving it. I did not reveal anything to do with the Kree, but I think with Karnak's standing in society a simple edit won't matter. I was thinking of a whole 'blue Gods' thing and then a reveal that they are cruel aliens, but I'm thinking of too many storylines anyway so it's fine. Also, I'd really like to tie in a 'mental takeover' by Maximus with Karnak and his current arc with the escaped Inhumans. Perhaps Maximus affected the Terrigenesis in some way? It would be awesome for just the royal family to be the only ones left against a plethora of mind-controlled lesser Inhumans. You can control Black Bolt and Medusa and Maximus, I Karnak and Triton, and we can collaborate :D What do you think?
