Welp. I'm glad we got that sorted then. No more suspense for anyone who was waiting patiently for you to post back. I know this sounds harsh, I just feel let down personally after literally getting a response from you in under 4 hours, after you didn't say anything for over a week. Which means you kept up with checking on it as best you can, or was just coincidence you decided to check after over a week.

I was holding off from joining other RPs because I didn't want to feel bogged down, and I was getting into my role here. I was finally interacting with other participants on the field! After coming to you with my idea 11 months ago. I'm sorry that people come and go. Perhaps instead of shutting the entire thing down you cut those that don't post in a certain timeframe and no longer accept anyone else? Just an idea. I hope you reconsider, but if you don't, I enjoyed my time, and I wish you the best, Silver.
Esailia's group

"Stand down, D-" Esailia tried getting out before Aidan stepped out into the line of fire. Leaping up even before he started talking to grab him and yank him back into cover. But she wasn't quite fast enough. The good Doctor was fired upon, and before Esailia even got him back into cover by his shirt, Naida blindfired her chaingun at the barricade to suppress the enemy. With Aidan in cover again, Edward helped him sit down while Esailia yelled at him about strict guidelines while in a foot squad and not being in a GEAR. At least he wasn't wearing a red shirt..."Last I checked, doctor, you are not in any way a professional foot soldier. Do not do that again. I hope that wound will remind you in the future to not take chances. If they had grenades, you'd be splattered across the mine walls! You hear me!?" Esailia tore into him, but while it sounded mean, angry, and overly aggressive to anyone else, Edward knew she was covering up her relief Aidan was still breathing. He didn't say anything though, simply helping the doctor with anything he needed help with doing to treat his bullet wound.

Meanwhile, Nathanial took lead while the captain was busy and nodded at Mike "You got heat vision, big guy? He asked, plucking one of the flashbangs from his belt and tossing it up in the air playfully. "Because I think negotiations are about to get aggressive. Naida, I'm going to throw this, The moment it clears the barricade, you blow the barricade with your RPG. Bud, when the barricade is in bits, get in there and start taking them down. Leave one or two alive, we need to have a chat with them to see if the hostages are still in the mine." He glanced between the two, waiting for answer, Naida simply nodded, and looked towards Mike as well.

"If I had my way, I'd put you through cleaning crew quarters on th-" Esailia was cut off as she started coughing suddenly, and it was more than just dust in the air. It sounded like a serious, wet cough. Edward quickly glanced between her and Aidan, and tried to get his attention as Esailia turned away "Eh-eh...Doctor, are you still bleeding? You need any other help?" He stammered, clearly nervous. just beyond him, Esailia continued to cough, the worst fit she's had yet.
In light of no post in the IC for three weeks, I'm going to step up and get a post up. Sorry Silver, but I feel this'll help others see this isn't dead yet.
Nyaa~....*HIc!* Happy cshrrristmas....Drunk kitty is...drun...*Falls facefirst and starts purring in her sleep*
Would it be bad for me to post in response to Machine just to keep the IC updated?
Esailia's group

As the squad and GEAR advanced through the tunnel, Esailia's HUD brought up a display to the bottom left of a map streaming in from Christa. But before she had time to find where they were in the winding system, Naida grabbed Esailia's shoulder and slammed her against the closest wall a moment before machine gun fire riddled holes in the tunnel wall opposite them.

The feline nodded slowly in thanks as she took a breath, motioning for Naida to take point and to hold position before swiping her finger across the front of her HUD, pulling the map to the center of her vision. "Alright," She muttered in a low tone over proximity chat, facing the group so they could see the map on her HUD. "We're coming up on a small bulge in the tunnel. It looks to be some sort of storage section before it loops around back to the bigger cavern. Naida, what does it look like?"

The heavy weaponry fox peeked around the corner very slightly for a moment before yanking her head back at the fire she attracted "Makeshift barricade, captain. Looks like something me and Ed made when we were kids. Bet you a rocket could blast it to bits." Esailia blinked "Makeshift? That doesn't make much sense...A makeshift barricade would fall at a single shot from a GEAR, moreso from anything a foot soldier would have. Why wouldn't they have a GEAR down here as well if they HAVE them? Also, not all the weapons fire match the signatures we got while in the Crawler..." As Esailia thought aloud, Edward pipped up "Ma'am, maybe they aren't bandits, but are miners that holed up when the bandits came? During the initial fight, they used the tunnels to their advantage, flooding parts and collapsing others to restrict entrances, winning some weapons from the bandits all the while. Then concentrating their defense on one of the few entrances left until help arrived?"

Esailia nodded slowly, but looked to Aidan and Nawlins. "That's my thought, what do you two think? We don't want to kill civvies, but we don't want to be too cautious."
The ATCV bumped along the rough terrain as the firesquad neared the mine. It was a silent trip for the most part, a side effect of being in a firefight, and knowing the mission wasn't done with no end in sight. Esailia, for her part, had just finished up her reading on the quick information that she had requested via text to control back at base. There had been a friendly casualty already, and another out of commission. A slew of questions filled her mind, as it always did during breaks in the action.

~Were the hostages safe? Dead? Not even there? How many bodies will there be by the end? How many more comrades will fall?~

All the information and intel that had been gathered before mission start had been skewed. These were not normal bandits. The weaponry was far from the salvage from the crawler, and why would bandits even worry about taking hostages? It simply made no sense. Esailia slammed her fist into the door in frustration, and her squad pointedly ignored it, focusing on their jobs. The feline captain looked up as Edward started slowing the vehicle "We're nearing our destination, Ma'am." The fox reported. "Alright," Esailia nodded, "park it and cut the engine at a safe distance from the entrance. We can hoof it from there. Naida, grab your kit, Nathanial, I doubt a sniper rifle will be useful in a mineshaft. Let's go!" She slid her PADD back into its pouch on her vest, and pulled her rifle from her side before hopping out of the ATCV with her squad in toe, making a run for the entrance.

They were just at the edge of the shaft when Aidan approached Esailia, who saluted in return, but barely slowed to do so "Doctor, a pleasure, but don't salute on the battlefield. You'll single out officers for snipers or enemy surveillance. You act like we're all foot soldiers, you follow my orders, and we'll get out alive. Fall in and keep silent. Your voice'll carry in these tunnels." Her tone was clipped and professional, the usual for a strict officer.

The firesquad rushed along the edge of the mineshaft behind the GEARs, letting them take the brunt of the enemy fire. Esailia raised a fist once they were just outside the cavern to stop her squad, and awaited the order she knew was coming..."Esailia," Blade called over the comm system. "We'll keep you covered! Locate the hostages, and call in if you need fire support from us! Nawlin-" She stopped listening at that moment, dashing into the cavern under cover fire and quickly assessing where to go. Her Augmented Reality on her helmet quickly overlaying possible exits and enemy locations. It didn't take her five seconds to run for a smaller tunnelway, with Naida and Edward on her tail, Aidan behind them, and Nathanial bringing up the rear.

Once out of the GEAR firefight, the firesquad made their way down the tunnel, not knowing if enemy bullets or a cave-in might prevent their advance...
I'm still around. I'll post after Machine gets his up.
*Dances for joy* I blew my compass tests out of the water!!! 94/99 for my reading and 99/99 for my writing~!
As a second note (Since my post got repeated >.<), if Aidan said "Screw the GEAR", does that mean the Captain should make a note of your arrival in my next post?
