I guess I didn't get linked it? Or if I did I just didn't subscribe. Oh well, I feel dumb but at least now I can post.
Wait, am I missing something? You said the first post was made, but I don't see it. Am I going insane?
Since I could only be considered an expert [loosely] on things generally pertaining to /k/, I figure regardless of which group we end up being I am going to be the metalworker/gunsmith/survivalist/mechanic.

In an Elite group, I'd probably plan an engineer or a soldier

In a Failure group [god forbid], I'd probably stick close to home and play a degenerate channer who has been preparing for apocalypse scenarios even before he got selected for this thing out of paranoia.
Henwen, I'll get a post up soon, but I'd like to leave some time for our friends @Xenoniaand @Malkin to tell us if they're still interested in this, and post if they want to.

Also, on the off chance that they're losers who don't want to play this anymore, can I give you the rest of the pertinent data and kick you out on the street? I want to get you doing foolhardy, dangerous tasks ASAP.
My recommendation would be to start at the beginning of Operation Michael if you're set on the late war period, or maybe 1916 if you want that real grim dark trench life. Just a suggestion obviously, I don't mean to be rude.
Let's do it
@EschatologistSorry for the late reply, but the time is set right at the arrival of the very first US troops. My plan was for everyone to choose their nation their character hails from, because my true goal for this RP is to simulate the life of trench warfare, an RP that shows the day-to-day struggle of a soldier on the Western Front.

But by the time U.S. troops arrived warfare was almost unrecognizable from the usual trench depiction, and tactics had become much more modern. Wouldn't setting the game earlier, before fire and move or tanks became prolific, be better for that gritty trench drama?
Voting for the elites.
I'm down for this. I have some character ideas too, I hope this generates some hype.
Is this taking place when the US is actually deploying troops, once the Ludendorff offensive is essentially over, or right at the beginning of Operation Michael, or at some other time altogether?

Also, are we all making characters from the same nation, or do we all chose individually? The latter seems problematic to me, but if you think it could work I'd be happy to change my mind.
