The problem is keeping the story grounded without somebody to provide that "human" perspective (who isn't, y'know, a mad scientist).
Oh, no, that wasn't directed at you specifically - just a general comment.
Would be nice if we had some actual humans... aliens are better when there's something to compare them to, IMO.
If you maintain links from the main page, I don't think a depository is necessary.
