Ah! Why hello there friend, it seems you've stumbled across my humble interest check. Um, pay no mind to the mess my brain tends to ooze from time to time, but in any event I should thank you for stopping by my insignificant little corner of this great wide internet. It's not everyday I get visitors after all. Hm? Oh, yes of course the roleplaying. Be patient please, there is a certain etiquette to these things you know, certain protocols to observe and an atmosphere to set the mood of-
Alrighty I'm done screwing around. Its not always easy to engage a reader in one paragraph, but if you've made this far my diabolical plan worked and I at least have you're attention for the time being. I am the Far Traveller, and you can call my anything you like, Far, Traveller, F.T., Fuck This, makes little difference to me. Now that the fluff you probably skimmed over is out of the way, lets get to the important stuff.
For those who wish to know I am a 25 year old man, and have been rping as well as writing for the better part of the last decade. The level of my writing I consider to be in the advanced category, and although it has been a while since I exercised my writing muscles at the moment, I intend to present well constructed wording and concepts whenever I can. I'm a nerd, I know that word doesn't mean much nowadays especially on a site like this, but I am the guy that takes simple concepts and sees how they fit in a more complex scheme, sometimes to the point of “over-thinking it”. That's how my mind works.
I like taking ideas and putting a different spin on it, thinking outside of the box. Whereas some would say my head is in the clouds, I would say that its long since broken the stratosphere and is currently at warp speed trying to reach the other side of the galaxy, that's a much more interesting metaphor wouldn't you say? That sort of thinking extends to my roleplaying quite often, and why I gravitate to genre's and ideas that are outside of said box.
You can easily put me down for something of the Science Fiction, Fantasy and the like, in that I am most interested in complex worlds and scenarios. That is these are the worlds our characters should inhabit as we tell their stories, a rich environment from which we can pull many elements from. As you might have guessed I am a world builder, that said I'm not above using worlds others have made in media (fandoms). I will say outright that I'm abhorrent to slice of life roleplays and the like. They have no appeal to me whatsoever.
The main characters that I play are almost always male, with that said I do play multiple characters of either gender without much problem.
As an adult I am only comfortable roleplaying with other adults.
I don't want to roleplay off-site, forum, PMs are fine, but skype, email or anything that isn't here is out of the question.
Of the things I've written romance has to be the scarcest skill I have in my writing chops, mind you that isn't to say I am incapable of it, rather that is is unpracticed. I do understand the dynamics that make romances work in a narrative, that said I'm not fond of the idea of romance being the main focus. As stated earlier I like many elements to be at play that affect the characters, and a romantic sub-plot is fine for character development however on the whole should be one cog in a complex machine. My male characters also tend to not be the “chaser” or “aggressor” in relationships, not that they are doormats, but rather aren't the “pursuers” in a romantic situation. My characters are also always heterosexual by the by.
As an adult I enjoy media for adults, so I'm not adverse to violence or swearing really. On sexuality I have to say I'm even less versed in writing that than I am romance. Of course that isn't to say that I can't, rather its not something I've really experimented with, in which case if you were expecting me to reciprocate “saucy” scenes I don't know how well I'll fair. Not against it, but if you'd rather fade to black I'd be more than happy to.
Generally speaking I'm attracted to fandoms that take place in large universes. Obviously if you have a specific fandom in mind I can't guarantee that I'm familiar with it. If its a cop show, a cult film, or anime that would fall into the category of least likely. When playing fandoms I don't play canon characters, as I want to explore possibilities and unique stories with our own characters.
Specific fandoms I can name, and can think of doing an rp in would be,
Star Trek
Dragon Age
Mass Effect
Fallout (Haven't finished Fallout 4)
Star Wars
Elder Scrolls (Skyrim preferably)
Dungeons & Dragons (not any particular setting or cannon)
Medieval Fantasy
Galactic Sifi
Urban Fantasy
Supernatural/Paranormal
Galactic SciFantasy (I really want to find a way to pull this off)
