Current Laptop has suspiciously decided to have hard-drive failure two weeks after the warranty expired, so no RPing for me!

Hopefully I'll get a post up tomorrow. Did have a post mostly writen, but decided it was crap and binned it haha.

Interested. Might be fun to play as some monsters for people to take contracts on. hmm.

What's the word on player controlled monster characters? I know some species don't lend themselves easily to the role (fiends, necrophages, gryphons etc jump to mind), but what about the likes of Dopplers or Higher Vampires. They have the sentience required to be considered a viable character, and there is precedent of their like rubbing shoulders with a Witcher.

The OP says we could do playable creatures, there's actually quite a few monsters who are sentient. A Higher Vampire might be too OP but even a Bruxa or Alp is sentient. There's even been precedent for a sentient ghoul.

Like MrDidact says, there's plenty of sentient monsters around for people to play as. If you want to go for a total villain and suicide on the other players, I also don't mind if you end up cycling through a few different monster CS throughout the RP. I'm not going to try set any ground rules for this at the moment, and instead just look at each CS as they come.

Tentatively slides interest across the table.*

Deal me in boss.

On a different note though, I remember those profile pics. Those crazy fuckin' unicorn profile pics.

I don't understand why I'm like the only person to keep mine. Think Mahz should just unicorn everyone again.

@Fat Boy Kyle Suffice to say I think we have enough interest to move forward. If nobody else wants to, I might be able to GM but I can't make any promises as I am running two games right now.

I'll probably wait to see what CS sheets and writing styles are like before I decide on co-gms. Just on the off chance that I say to someone "Yeah sure, you can GM!" and they then make a Naruto clone and dribble all over the IC.

As for Witcher limit, I'd be inclined to agree that two max would be a good place to start, with the potential of more being introduced later. That said, if there's already two witchers and you have an absolutely fantastic CS that you've been working on, then don't just throw it away.
@Fat Boy Kyle but it also makes it hard to keep track of if you've got a lot of players running all about doing whatever they want.

<Snipped quote by Fat Boy Kyle>

I think last time people had a hard time coordinating a big fight scene where we all were so close together. That sort of thing is easier when table top mechanics are involved. Without them it can get messy.

Both good points, which is why change is needed. I won't be doing this anytime soon, but it's nice to gage whether there'd be any interest for a reboot.
Tbf, I would change it a fair bit. Felt like I forced it into stagnation before. Maybe avoid forcing everyone together, as it makes it harder to keep a flow sometimes.

@BlackSam3091@MrDidact
Well well well...we meet again, mass effect peeps.

and Dragon Age peeps *cough* *cough*
Two down, three to go! Go indoctrinate your friends!
GET OVER HERE!

Wolves asleep amidst the trees, Bats all a-swaying in the breeze,
But one soul lies anxious wide awake, Fearing all manner of ghouls, hags and wraiths.

Birds are silent for the night, Cows turned in as daylight dies, But one soul lies anxious wide awake.
For the witcher, brave and bold, Paid in coin of gold, He’ll chop and slice you, Cut and dice you.
Eat. You. Up. Whole. Eat. You. Whole.

The Setting (Messy WIP):

Set roughly fifty years before the events of the Witcher Game Series, and across the Great Sea on the non-canonical continent of Aridia. This RP sees players dropped into the Free City of Telchar, a large medieval metropolis ruled by an authoritarian religion and which is infested with all manner of monsters. One in particular has left a string of bodies in its wake and is causing the public to panic.

Will your character be one of the few Witchers on the Continent hunting monsters? A Warrior of the Church hellbent on chasing another players Witch? An assassin of Lords? Or maybe just a simple guard trying to fight battles way out their league?

This RP will be a mature one, containing strong themes like violence, sex and drugs. It also has a horror element to it. Please be warned.

Rules/Things to consider:

Background Lore

For this RP, you will definitely benefit from having read the books, played the games, or at least taking a look at the wiki. Though I should note as someone who's not read the books, this RP is going to borrow much more from the game series. For those that aren’t too familiar with the series or those that are maybe just a bit rusty, here are some important bits of background lore of the Witcher World mixed with the new lore for this new location.

I did try to do this exact same RP before, but unfortunately with literally 0 interest. I'll be looking to get at least 5 interested individuals before making an OOC. Any questions, queries or concerns, don't hesitate to ask!
