Current Been a while, but I'm back. Just moved and no social life in the new place yet so I'll probably be around a lot.

My cat has been found guilty of laptopicide, using my very own jar of ice water as a murder weapon. I'll be back as soon as I can. At most, I'm looking at about a month with no personal computer.

I saw Dresden, so I at least have to take a look. Not enough of that going around these days.

There, happy? :P

Anyway, I left it open for someone to get Morgan drunk if they felt like it. More fun than him just overdoing it on his own.

Lyla Warren

To distract herself from the commotion in the center of the room, Lyla focused on the hyena in front of her and the path that would lead them all away from the frightening dragons. Besides, her head was already starting to ache. Hopefully the tunnel would be relatively dark and offer her eyes some rest for a few moments. Ahead of her, Laurel addressed Güzel and someone evidently named Felix. She did not stop, however, and moments later she heard the relatively heavy footfalls of the other person heading in the opposite direction.

At the edge of the trapdoor leading down into the tunnel and escape, Lyla shifted nervously. By then, things had quieted down considerably and she could hear well enough to remember that she wasn't just a normal girl. She started to hum a melody, listening close for the qualities of sound that would denote an echo rather than her original voice. In this way she was able to find the ladder easily and move down it without any issue. As soon as her head was below floor level, her song made it so that she was able to 'see' nearly the entire length of the tunnel, including the door that had been left open at the other end.

Despite the stressful situation they had just left behind Lyla smiled over at Laurel, who was now much easier for her to locate. Ending her humming for the moment, she spoke up. "Glad we got out of there. I hope nobody was really hurt. Let's go see what happened to the others. This was supposed to be fun, and we should try to salvage it if we can. No way I'm sleeping tonight after all that anyway."

Morgan Selwyn

Morgan followed Niall into the elevator, and spent his time staring into space and wondering if he should have stayed behind. The staff had likely intervened by now, but since he was here and not there he would not know until later how bad things had truly gotten. Thinking on this only made him dread returning to him room later even more, and he was glad to have the opportunity to hide out among the others for the next while.

Hands in his pockets, Morgan stayed a little behind the others as Niall led them to his room. Joar had split off from the group after the elevator ride, already shifting back in preparation to dress himself and rejoin them. Everyone else continued on to the well appointed room that belonged to the Lycan and his roommate. Overall, it was a much more comfortable space for the Warlock than the ballroom had been.

At the mention of getting drinks, Morgan retrieved a cup for himself from the described cabinet. For at least a solid minute, he looked at the various bottles. Having only had alcohol previously in the form of the occasional glass of ceremonial wine, he didn't really know what he was looking at. In the end, he decided to go for a simple glass of water. It was the easiest option available, and wouldn't give him a headache in the morning.
Sorry, I've been working a lot this week and have been working on characters for other things besides. I also hadn't come up with anything that sounded good enough in my head yet. Still around though.

Luca Warren - Raven Queen's Attendant

Location: Actium

Maintaining his focus on the dragon above and his chanting, Luca was near oblivious to the soldiers moving in to surround the scene. He barely even saw the elf from before in his wild charge and insane attempt to help Pyria. Nor did he notice the hail of arrows, nor the steadily growing rain. The roar of another dragon caught his attention, but could not disrupt him when he was this deep in the flow of the Raven Queen's magic. The return of Pyria's manacle to her went unnoticed as well, though it's effect did not. It was only when a clear voice rose above the storm that he missed a beat. It was not enough to disrupt the magic he was preparing, but it demanded attention.

Sarai's song brought to mind Luca's patron deity, albeit a darker aspect of her than he typically saw. Through his eyes, the world shifted subtly. No longer was he simply warding off the tantrum of an angry dragon, he was fighting for his life. One of them would likely pass from this world before the fight was through. Death did not frighten Luca, for he knew it was the true fate of all things. If it was time for him to meet the Raven Queen, then so be it. But he would not simply lay down and die. As his chanting grew stronger once more, at seemed to flow with the melody of Sarai's singing.

Finally, Pyria began to make her move. She started to ascend high into the air, and Luca recognized the preparation for a dive from watching birds of prey during his time in the temple. The high towers had been the perfect place to watch owls late at night. The priest would not lose focus of his opponent. Eyes on the air, he waited for her to reappear from the clouds. When finally she streaked toward the ground, his chanting ended and a voice cut through the air.

"I am done with thee, dragonling! This soul belongs to the Raven Queen and none other. May the bite of the Winter wind drive this truth into your mind!" Even as the words left Luca's lips, a harsh cold wind began to gather. As flames washed the cobblestones, he was ready with his rebuke. Unleashing the strength of his Queen's wrath, he directed the icy blast toward Pyria. Rain froze as blizzard winds blew through the square, pelting everyone present with tiny pellets of ice. The fire directed at him would be blown to either side, and hopefully extinguished before it could do any real harm.

Though the strong wind was powerful and extremely cold, it was nothing worse than a harsh northern storm could bring. Nobody would be unduly injured by the spell, unless they were unfortunate enough to be blown from their feet and dashed against the hard ground. Even Pyria had a good chance of avoiding being hurt, if she could fly above the wind before it caused her to lose control of her flight.

Liliana Stormshadow - The Fallen Star

Location: Campus Magnus

Liliana stood as one stunned while Gripus delivered his parting words to the other women. By the way he spoke, his intentions were clear. The Mage was done with the lot of them. Disbelief kept her silent until he finally turned to face her. The way he looked at her confirmed that he would be abandoning her as well, perhaps for good. The thought of that made her sad at first, and disappointment filled her. Then anger swelled in her chest. Her people and her faith had left her behind, and now she would be standing in the Bane of Morven's dust as he went away to die. She did not want his warnings or farewell.

"You think you can just-" Even as she reached out to grab Gripus, he vanished from Liliana's sight. "Leave...?" She stared in confusion at the space he had vacated until Tsabal spoke up, drawing her attention. Turning to the Drow, she crossed her arms over her chest. Once again, the Crone spoke reason. The three remaining would be a formidable force even without the Mage.

"I see no reason why we should not make our own attempt, especially if Gripus expects to fail. Having some knowledge of his abilities, is unfortunate that he left. That human was a powerful Arcanist unlike others of his kind. Perhaps he shall clear part of the way for us in his madness and eagerness to die." If Gripus was done with her, then she was with him. Liliana would do as she had before, and move on to seek her true purpose. If that meant traveling with the other two elves, then she would do so. Perhaps it would be better than dealing with the old man after all.
I am still around, I promise. It just seems that most of the things going on are not center-stage and don't involve Thomas.
Apologies for my apparent absence from my own thread, had to work last night. I am now around again to respond to things promptly for the next few hours.
@Capra I'm finished with my character for now, let me know if I've more work to do.

[Move to CS tab]
@Skallagrim Here's the character I've been working with so far. I mostly just took him straight off a D&D character sheet I've been wanting to use for something here anyway. Let me know what you think.
