Current Been a while, but I'm back. Just moved and no social life in the new place yet so I'll probably be around a lot.

My cat has been found guilty of laptopicide, using my very own jar of ice water as a murder weapon. I'll be back as soon as I can. At most, I'm looking at about a month with no personal computer.

@Blue Demon Alright, I've got a second draft for you. The history still feels slim to me, but I'll fill it out and try to expand on the details more later. Let me know what you think.

@Blue Demon Just mentioning that I'm still around and do intend to finish up my CS. Had to work the last couple nights, and it's been hard to focus on writing with my wisdom teeth being all painful and such. Thankfully, that part ends Monday.

Oh boy. Between Kiara and Suley, looks like Morgan is going to have an interesting evening. Can't wait to see what you've got.

Meh, my post feels short but it's there. It's a little hard for me to focus on writing right now.

Morgan Selwyn

Morgan sat huddled in the corner of a couch, mostly just watching the others have a good time. It seemed like everyone else knew each other a little, or at least were comfortable enough to have a good time. He couldn't quite say the same for himself, and was squandering the chance to remedy that. Some of them seemed to be going a little overboard already. Even the warlock had laughed and winced along with the others as the addled human had the misfortune of being the first to lose the contents of his stomach.

When Laurel was pointed out, Morgan watched her from across the room. She had a natural grace about her, even in the midst of something so simple as grabbing a drink. Without looking away from her, he reached toward his water to take a drink. When the liquid finally his his throat and he swallowed, he immediately started to sputter and cough, slamming the cup back onto the table. He had grabbed the wrong cup, and the strong amber colored liqueur burned his throat. Mostly concerned with that, he didn't even consider finding out who the drink belonged to or apologizing to them. Snatching up the proper glass this time, he gulped down cool water in an attempt to soothe his throat.

Lyla Warren

When Lyla heard the pounding footsteps of someone else running it stood out to her so much in comparison to Laurel that it drew her curiosity and her ears perked toward the noise. Whoever it was, they were getting closer, and fast. By the time the Splice figured out that the other person was headed directly for her, she already heard the muffled impact of them colliding with Laurel. Lyla couldn't help it as Kiara made her introductions; she smiled and laughed. Even though she couldn't see it, something about the scene in front of her struck her as funny. Other people were laughing too, even as Laurel introduced her in turn.

"Hi, Kiara and Persy," she said, still giggling a little as Laurel moved on to join the others. Lyla felt a flutter of nervous energy as the only person she had really met so far abandoned her to the company of a relative stranger. At least she wasn't on her own again, and Kiara at least sounded like a nice person. They were all there to learn and meet new people after all, so there was no point in shying away.

"Did you want to go join the others? Sounds like they found a place to have some fun even after what happened, and I certainly can't sleep right now." She didn't mention that it would be difficult for her to figure out which number belonged to which room. Hopefully she would be able to follow Kiara, but if not she was sure she would be able to figure it out.

Aust frowned down at the polished blade of his dagger, considering its edge. Of course the young human king disliked the raids they performed. While the elf didn't agree with the methods, he had come to believe them necessary. The important people never listened to a lone human or elf with warnings of impending disaster. They were tied down to one place, and would not leave it until they were forced to. Sadly, some would never leave the homes they chose to protect. Though every one of them had been made in the course of protecting his own life or that of one of his companions, Aust regretted every wound he had left and every killing blow he had struck.

"You both know I will not hurt anyone unless I must. I wish as much as you do that we did not have to do this at all. We do what we must to make ourselves heard, and nothing more." Aust was sure Lothren was keeping something from the others, but there was nothing for it. His old friend would come around in time, or the truth would otherwise make itself clear. The Ytharien would not be on the path they had chosen if they did not have trust in their leader, and something of import must be on the horizon to guide them to such drastic action.

"I'm sorry, Alan, but I can't promise you that. I can only account for my own actions. When and where I am able I will do all that I can to ensure that this goes without injury. That goes for every living being that will be in that conflict tonight. If it is possible, I will see it ended without blood. That, I can promise," he said, finally looking up from his blade to the others around him. As he slid the dagger into its sheath, hoping he wouldn't have cause to draw it forth later, he studied their expressions and reactions. Alan was young and naive, but he had potential. He didn't truly belong among them, but Lothren allowed him to continue his charade. Anara was more difficult for the elf to read. She possessed some quality that interested him beyond her physical features, but he could not yet name it.

Glancing over his shoulder, Aust took in Lothren and Juna as they parted company. The Ytharien's leader was very much the same as Aust had known him before, but also very different. It was understandable, with his brother in the hands of humans. There was something else weighing on him though, something the other elf couldn't quite see. Juna he was less familiar with and had not spoken to as much as the others since he had come. The she-elf was certainly alluring, and he admired her skill with her voice and a harp. She was a skilled warrior as well. Still, she seemed to hold herself a little apart from the others, or perhaps they from her.

I'm still here. I'll post later. Had to work and I'm tired.
@Blue Demon I'm mostly done, though I might expand on his history more later. Having a hard time coming up with details I like.
Alexander Valerian - Diver's Paradise (Southern Gate)

@tex@Hatman1801@Jensoman@Sessamaru

Alex scowled at Alvios' arrival, rolling his eyes as the speeches continued. Rather than listen, he kicked at the dirt, scratched at his beard, and messed around with the knife he carried. Since it looked like he wasn't going to get to fight any time soon, he was bored. In most cases, this was the sort of thing he would have paid attention to. Then again, the old man had reinforced his demands for attention with a sturdy stick. There was something about being hit on the wrists and ankles over and over that made you sit up and listen close. All in all it meant he missed the specifics of the 'rules' as they were laid out, and any additional intelligence on the Junkers they were after. It didn't really bother him, he would just go with the flow like he always had.

Before joining the others in moving on, Alex made a stop at the pile of supplies. His pack was currently flat and if the supplies were meant for them he figured it at least meant he wouldn't have to hunt or forage along the way. He filled the leather bag with simple food, strapping his blanket and a large canteen of water to the sides. The weight didn't bother him all that much, though it would probably tire him throughout the day. Still, he had dealt with worse. Ready to go, he made his way back the group that was heading out.

As he caught up, he heard someone ask what they were in for. Maybe there wasn't as much info as I thought. Whatever, might as well listen this time. Nothing better to do. Alex fell in behind Jake and the black-haired guy, arms crossed while he walked.
Probably going to take me a minute, but I'm getting started.
