And yes Connor should probably be in an institution of some sort, and not one of learning lol
Connor arrived at the bay, his fools motley flopping about him in the breeze, in a tizzy of confusion. There were loud bangs and lots of color coming from the area ahead. Was the festival still going on inside the docking bay, he pondered to himself? But that didn't really quite make sense, while the notion may have seemed rather odd, much cargo was flammable as was some fuels used to run airships and he doubted anyone would be celebrating with such dangerous ordinance in an area like this, where a mishap with fire could mean something exploding, even he wasn't that crazy. He chuckled slightly as he realized, no, he was exactly that crazy.

It was mid chuckle then that he rounded the corner only to witness the set of three outlaws from behind. Those in front of him appeared to have some type of heavy ordnance launchers, most probably grenades, while the one in the middle had on some type of mechanical suit with large front facing hand cannons, no real rear armament, and little to no ease of maneuverability. They seemed to be working in conjecture with a larger body of outlaws that was further to the side, in front of and firing on a man in front of a large stack of supplies, that he appeared to be protecting and fighting over.

Connor watched as the man they were focusing on, presumably the TAC officer he was meant to be reporting to, enacted a relatively powerful barrier around himself, using his mechanical arm to stabilize the mana so as to not have to put in as much concentration or effort on maintaining the spell. Connor had to give it to the man for creativity on that. "Well Chi." Connor said with a wide grin, "Looks like it is time to earn our keep around here."

Connor drew his pistol from inside his pants in his left hand and simultaneously spun his staff from his back. Then with a steady sure hand he took sights with the pistol and shot the men with the grenade launchers twice each, in the backs of their legs. Now had the gun been an ordinary gun, firing ordinary bullets, they would have bounced off, most of the lethal force defected, probably only causing minor pain and slight surprise, but this was not an ordinary gun, and Connor never, ever shot ordinary bullets. These rounds were each individually packed with spikes of fire magic, and the gun itself amplified and directed whatever magic passed through it, and so when the bullets made contact with the shielding of the individuals legs, instead of bouncing off relatively harmlessly, a blaze launched through the shielding the outlaws had cast around them, blowing out the unsuspecting mens knees.

Temporarily ignoring the battle Connor called out to the man in the barrier, "Dmitry Kovalev I'm guessing? I hope I'm not spoiling your fun, but I think I will take care of these three hooligans, so perhaps you can focus on the others outlaws on hand?" Connor laughed a little maniacally, and with his staff in his right hand made a sweeping gesture, engulfing the mechanically clad outlaw in flames, before realizing to his chagrin that while the suit might be heat protected the hand cannons ammunition probably was not as we-- interrupting that thought was a relatively large blast, caused by all of the cannoneers ammunition igniting simultaneously launching the outlaws on either side of the blast, who would now be feeling much more then just the gunshot wounds to the legs, away, as well as sending the man who had been wearing the mechanical suit pinwheeling out of control. Connor winced as the man hit the ground face first with a sickening thud.

"I do hope I didn't kill any of those poor saps, Chi. If I did I might have to fill out paperwork, and you know how much I detest paperwork." Connor shook his head then jogged to join his leader under the protective spell. "Connor De'Finn reporting for duty your officerlyness, so got any orders for me mr. boss man?"
The starter IC is up now. I promise within the week I will have some rough sketches up of what the layout of the base looks like.
A new bus of kids was just arriving at the front security checkpoint when Connor arrived through the opening elevator. He had spent a long time learning how to sort the new comers to the institute into groups based on the varying level of help that they would need getting acclimated to the way things worked at the academy and now he was one of the first people the academy sent to deal with the fresh 'recruits' as the military bureaucracy that technically ran the school loved to call them. Connor saw them as kids, but more then that he saw them as people, some of them were rural, and were shocked by the mechanics of the bus, let alone the advanced technology that the guards were using to scan them, and tag them, recording their genetic signatures, fingerprints, voiceprints, irises, and posture/body movements, some of the kids on the other hand seemed accustomed to the technology, wealthier kids then. At least it didn't look like any pigheaded GPC were in this group. There had been some trouble with the last few groups. Kids who had been raised proud members of the GPC all of a sudden being told they were in their own minds 'unpure' things could sure get awkward real fast.

After a five minuet wait, and a quick walk around the security check they were each issued an ID with their picture and a QR code on it. The ID card would give them access to all of the common areas, as well as the authorized private areas for the new students. It would let them into their barracks, which were realistically more dorm halls, barracks just sounded more military. It would also give them access to their rooms, which they would share with roommates for their remainder here at the academy.

The ID cards would also serve as locators, since to get almost anywhere, you had to scan on your ID card, that coupled with a couple well placed security cameras and in theory a few guards in a control room could know where absolutely everyone was in the base at any given moment. THe thought had never really bothered Connor before, if anything it had made him feel safer, knowing someone was always on watch, always protecting them, but now with the twins gone and the new director in charge sent from the military higher ups that were the only thing Connor didn't love about this place Connor was unsure of how he felt about all that.

He shook it off, greeting the new kids with a smile, there were a a dozen fourteen year olds, which was the pretty standard age for new recruits with the whole genetic drafting act, but there were also a few younger ones. Most of them seemed anxious to be meeting a new group, and Connor knew, from quite a bit of experience, that food in the stomach, especially the delicious assortment you could find in the third basement floor dining hall, would help to settle them.

"Hey everybody, my name is Connor, I have been assigned as your guys interim prefect until you are assigned a new one, so if you would just follow me I know it is a long drive up the mountain, and you are probably all starving." With that he lead them all to the massive elevator bank on the far side of the wall, ushering them into one of the larger elevators that could in theory move a semi to any of the standard basement floors, and pressed the three.
The sun wasn't quite up yet, the sky was just barely beginning to lighten on the eastern horizon, giving the vaguest hints of pink to the far side of the sky over the mountains. Connor had taken his map and set out six different possible routes to take from here to the Crescent City hospital in case any had been blocked by road traffic or by nature taking back it's hold. He was planning on leaving on foot for the initial journey, as there was a small reserve of gasoline left over, and that was all in reserve for the trailers and the escape cars, in the event of a WCS (Worst Case Scenario), so taking a vehicle to begin with was absolutely out of the question, but if the path in appeared to be clear, and they could find then, they could bring back any vehicles they found to both add to their fleet of escape vehicles, and to bolster their defenses. They could use the cars as extra barricades, or as inner supports to the wooden wall they had surrounding the camp.

He shook himself from those thoughts as he saw DM and Sir walking towards him, the first of the individuals he had called to come with him. He quickly checked his weapons, first touching the knife and checking its slide out of its sheath to make sure it moved fluidly, then testing the hatchet and crow bar. Finally he shifted his weight slightly, feeling the hidden revolver safely stored where he hid it, and then drew and checked the load on his glock, one full clip in the gun, and three full clips in his belt. Finally he swung the shot gun around on its strap checking the eight shells that were already loaded in the magazine, he then checked the chamber shell. The initial loads were all Foster slugs, heavier at the from with hollow backs to highly improve accuracy, along with sixteen buck shot rounds, a bakers dozen of home packed fletchette rounds for lethal purposes. On the non-leathal end of the spectrum he had a hand full of flare rounds, two gas rounds, a couple breaching rounds, two bird bombs, four screechers, a bolo round and another handful of dragons breath round, all neatly ordered and safely secured in his pack. After checking his weapons and ammunition he quickly went through his pack ensuring that all of his gear was were it needed to be.

As DM and Sir saw their CO going through a check of his equipment they did the same. Dwayne quickly checked his weapons quickly, a Heckler and Koch MP5 9mm sub hanging from his left hip served as his small armament and an HK416 served as his main weapon, both of which were lifted from a Swat member who had clocked out early on during the outbreak. Serena was armed with an almost comedic contrast of weapons. Her side arm was a Smith and Wesson J-frame snubbie, which while still firing a .38 special, was one of the smallest handguns Connor had ever seen, but her primary rifle was a Barrett M82 rifle, with the rifle Serena liked to say she could take out an enemy from so far out they would never get to hear the shot that killed them. In addition to their weapons they also checked their packs, each containing items of a similar assortment as Connor's own pack.
College is killing me, I miss high school when I had so much more time to rp
Okay it all looks good. My character is going to judge your character for smoking lol
READ ME FIRST

So I am posting this first in the interest checks, though it is more over designed to be an OOC starter post, anyways, I am planning for this to be a higher level casual RP, that being said, you don't have to do all the reading before joining the RP, though if you are interested it may be advised you do at least a skim through before we start. Before joining the RP there are three things you have to do!

1) Read the 'GENERAL INFORMATION' Posted below
2) Read the 'RULES' posted below!
3) Message me your character sheet to be approved

I will be available to help with character design and clarification of all the rules and regulations regarding the characters. Please don't be scared off by the character sheets I know they seem a little intense but its not nearly as difficult as it seems. I really hope you join, I think this RP will be fun and interesting!

GENERAL INFORMATION
The year is 2132, you are a student at a government sanctioned, privately run Academy based in the Mt. Cheyenne bunker. The Academy is for Biologically Evolved individuals, the Academy's euphemism for mutation. All information of the Biologically evolved is in the section titled 'GENETIC VARIATIONS'. The Academy has been a safe haven for Biologically Evolved individuals for decades, but now the old Directors of the facility have seemingly disappeared, only to be replaced by a man hell bent on destroying the school.

The technology is advanced, though some areas have regressed to near preindustrial society, so while super advanced technology is available some students will know how to use it and some will never have seen it before.

RULES

1) Please don't control or kill other characters without express permission from the characters owner, or a GM
2) Be sure to send your character sheet to me for approval before posting
3) Please be prepared to be active in the RP
4) RP posts will not be turn based
4) Please add at the end of your character sheet that I had two rule number four's to insure you read the rules
5) If you are inactive in the rp for more then two days without checking into the OOC it may be decided by a GM that your character needs to be controlled or killed
6) Upon your third infraction of rule 5 your character will be killed off, probably in some ludicrous way
7) Please misspell four as for at the end of your bio to prove you honestly read all the rules
8) Please be polite and kind to other players, don't be rude, crude, or vulgar in the OOC, in IC characters may be rude crude and vulgar all they want so long as it is not purposefully an attempt to offend the person behind the character
9) As much as I hate to say it keep the sexin' to a minimum, this isn't an RP for smut. Relationships are okay, and are in fact encouraged, these are people after all, relationships are a driving force in all humans lives, even the evolved ones, but anything past PG-13 please take it into the Private messages.
10) I and any other GMs have the power to add any additional rules as we see fit
11) HAVE FUN
