Holidays and exams have been keeping me really busy, I'm so sorry :c I can't see myself getting anything up tonight but, I'll shoot for tomorrow or Sunday.
I'll try and post something tonight as well, though I'll wait a little while longer so everyone can get a chance to get their own intros in and such c:
:< oh, I'm sorry. The verbal diarrhea is strong in this one.
Man don't even worry. It's hecka long but you also made it entertaining to read so, I honestly think it's fine, lol.
I totally didn't realize adding sounds and songs to a post was a thing, btw. Might add a song clip or something to my old post if I can find something that fits.
The sound of Tomoyo's alarm clock was not what had woken her up that morning. Rather, it was the slight chill of her dorm room that had disturbed her. She'd been awake for roughly an hour now, two bed sheets and a fluffy navy comforter wrapped around her, a muffled groan escaping her as her alarm gently rang out. She reluctantly removed an arm from her cocoon, quickly reaching for the alarm and switching it off. From there, she threw the pile of blankets off of her and pushed herself up, shuddering at the temperature of her room. It may have only been a few degrees below room temperature, but to Tomoyo, that was all she needed to make her feel uncomfortable. On the end of her bed lay a heap of clothes, consisting of her school uniform, a black wool overcoat, socks, gloves, and a long, knitted white scarf. Tomoyo shuffled towards the pile with ease, beginning the process of undressing and redressing herself.
The girl's room might've looked almost barren, if it were properly organized. Her bed, twin sized and wrapped in gray sheets, was pushed up against the plain white walls of her room, an unframed print of an autumn forest hung with tape on the wall above the headboard. Beside the bed and up against the curtained window was where her desk should've been seen, were it not buried by mounds of loose papers, empty soda cans, and stacks of books of every variety, each one opened and lying flat with the cover side up. The dresser across from the desk was no better, carrying more books than it did clothes (most of which had been piled into the hamper beside it). At the far end of the room was a corkboard cluttered with memos and pictures, mostly consisting of herself and her family.
After slipping into her uniform, jacket, and socks, Tomoyo made her way over to the side of the bed, where her wheelchair had been left. After some quick maneuvering, she plopped down into the chair, covering her hands with her black leather gloves and wrapping the scarf around her neck. Next to her wheelchair was her book bag, which she carefully reached down for and placed on her lap. Then, with an audible "clack", she unlocked the brakes of her wheelchair and rolled towards the door. A square shaped mirror was hung on the back of it, leveled to Tomoyo's height for ease of use. As per usual with her early morning routine, she didn't bother to comb out her hair, instead running a hand through it to work out any kinks and knots. When she was done, she gave the mirror a satisfied smile, before moving back, opening the door, and shutting it behind her.
Before long she was outside of the school dormitories, teeth chattering in the frigid February morning air. By now it was almost 7:00. And with the growling of her stomach signaling her need for food, Tomoyo promptly made her way towards the main building, leaving a trail in the thin layer of snow beneath her.
Disabilities (if any): Tomoyo was born without her lower legs. Rather than use prosthetics as a substitute, she prefers to use her wheelchair to get around.
Job/occupation (if any): Part-time chef at the Shanghai
Appearance:
(I am completely aware that this is not a female. )
Tomoyo is thinly built, her only noticeable muscle mass being in her arms. Her dark brown hair is usually kept short and unstyled, giving her a more tomboy-ish look, and her eyes are a dull blue-gray. She has a strong disdain for the cold, and because of this, she tends to wear heavier clothes outside of school, such as sweaters and pants. Even in warm weather, she likes to bring a light jacket or shawl with her, in the event that the temperature is too low for her (which it usually is).
Personality: Tomoyo is definitely the outdoorsy type, even in less than stellar weather. She spends a lot of her free time out and about, always on the lookout for new places to see. She is also wildly fascinated with the occult, though this is more of a side interest, and not something she brings up or talks about often. Her absolute favorite thing to do, however, is to cook, which is something she's become quite skilled at over the years. Culinary is one of the few things she's truly dedicated and passionate about, so much so that she's made it her goal to open her own restaurant one day.
In general, Tomoyo is a very relaxed and fun-loving person. She goes about her life with a very calm attitude, no matter how hectic things may be. Very rarely does she ever become frustrated or stressed, and has proven to be very patient and understanding of others. On the downside, her carefree lifestyle often leads to her slacking off and procrastinating, which can cause problems when it comes to her studies. She also has a habit of zoning out and daydreaming at random, though this more commonly happens when she's by herself or if she's simply bored enough.
Tomoyo is always trying to do things on her own, not bothering with asking others for help unless she feels it's truly necessary. This, combined with her procrastinating ways, often means plans and projects of hers are left unfinished for long periods of time. She is not one to give up easily though. Instead of giving up entirely, she simply goes and does other things, then comes back to whatever she was doing later on. It may take her a lot longer, but she always manages to finish the things she's started, regardless of the setbacks.
Despite her reluctance to ask her peers for help, Tomoyo is not one to shy away from conversation. You might need to speak to her first, but once you do, she's more than happy to keep a conversation going, so long as the topic is entertaining enough to her. And it usually is, unless the subject is something truly boring. Although she's fine with talking to people, Tomoyo is more of a listener, and prefers to sit back and let other people do the talking.
Backstory: Shortly after Tomoyo was born, her parents broke up after just three years of marriage. While this never had a very negative effect on her growing up, she did end up being a lot closer to her father than her mother, as her mother was often away on business trips, and as a result was unable to spend very much time with her daughter. Instead, she spent the majority of her adolescence living with her father, one floor above the fishing shop he owned and still owns to this day. Whenever he came home from his monthly trips to the lake one town over, Tomoyo was always eager to help him cook whatever he'd caught, which is where her interest in cooking first began.
For a long while, Tomoyo was highly unmotivated and bored with her life. She was barely passing in school, and had very few friends that she actually spent time with outside of class. The only thing that she seemed to enjoy was cooking, though she originally didn't feel like it would take her anywhere. That all changed when her father enrolled her in Yamaku Academy, hoping that she might do better with her studies in an environment geared more towards her. Although the change didn't help her necessarily, taking on a part time job at the Shanghai seemed to be the kick she needed to re-motivate herself. She still tends to slack off in school, but she's more determined to do better now that she feels she has a purpose.
Notes: An easy way to get your things broken is to hand it to Tomoyo. Unless she knows how to use it, she will try to figure it out on her own. And she will more than likely break it.
She may slack off a lot in school, but Tomoyo does try to keep her grades at least at a C average.
