Weeell, it's not day before yesterday, or yesterday....but this counts right, right? <_< >_>

The chevaliers are about to get stomped, me strongly suspects. Li is not in her happy place :-(

(I have a mortgage, I can't ignore it. And a delivery I got yesterday offered me £50 off some cases of wine...if I spend £100. WHY MUST YOU TORMENT ME SO!?!)
“Oh Light…”
A cold knot of dread had wound its way around her heart like a snake. Liaena took a step back, only to find the cold wall of the cavern pressing against her back. In reality, the girl had now flattened herself against the back wall of Sharon’s study.

“Y…you’re dead” she informed the Reaper, hating how weak and scared her voice had become. Unsurprisingly, the monster had no comeback for this, instead choosing to drift closer in a manner that very pointedly illustrated the invalidity of her statement.

How could this have happened!? How long had she been unconscious? Was Sharon still out there somewhere, fighting Sherpa, or….Liaena did not want to consider that other option. The sensation of dread constricted further at the thought.

The thing she was facing had not conducted any aggressive actions other than to drift closer inexorably. She needed a weapon, anything to help her. But her hands were empty, and it was unlikely a potion would assist her with the thing she was facing anyway.

She had to move. The fear in the command sent to her frozen legs jolted them into life, as she bolted in a desperate attempt to circumferent the Reaper and reach the mouth of the cave they were in. The lunge was almost immediately aborted as her legs exploded in pain – in reality, crashing straight into Sharon’s heavy mahogany desk – and falling to the ground.

Gasping, Liaena flailed around as she tried to clamber to her feet, but her limbs did not work in the way she attempted to force them – being hopelessly tangled in the chairs set in front of aforementioned desk. She had little to no time to try and pull herself together and try and think her way out, as freezingly cold skeletal hands coiled around her neck and midriff – an awakened and somewhat annoyed Malizia hoisting the girl out of the mess of broken wood by the scruff of the neck.

Flailing and writhing in the creatures arms, Liaena lost all sense or pretence at composure to scream with abandon as icy cold mist enveloped her, tendrils invading her eyes, nose and mouth. An echoing voice spoke into the panic that was her brain, appearing to freeze even that and drop it to sub-zero temperature.

“Welcome home, priestess”
Ehhh....at my parents house (with no laptop)...then at my sister in laws house (with no laptop, internet or bed). I'm back now. I may have something out this evening - I am somewhat tired, see lack of bed for clues as to why - no promises. If it's not tonight, then it'll be tomorrow.

Also, happy - cough commercial cough - Christmas! May your houses be full, and your bank accounts empty.
“Sure” Liaena said carefully as she walked through the corridor, coming to a set of stairs to begin climbing them towards the upper floors. “Serphia was acting really oddly. Is Falere giving her trouble?”

“Hm?”

“…You know. The one standing behind her” Liaena elaborated. Valion gave her an odd look, before chuckling lightly.
“Oh no. She is pushy sometimes, but I’d imagine the Captain has it all in hand”

“Fair enough”

The girl said dubiously as she walked, hoping the elf riding on her shoulder wouldn’t be able to detect how quickly her heart was beating. Reaching the door to Sharon’s office, she opened the door to step inside.

The room was just as opulent as ever, somehow mysteriously untouched by the Night Elves - although the lack of alcohol in the room might always have been a factor. Liaena stepped over to remove “Sharon” from her shoulder and place him on his desk. “Here….just a second”

Rummaging inside the bag she was carrying, Liaena eventually withdrew a small vial that she held out to the high elf. The label on it was as indecipherable as ever in her classic chicken scratch. To somebody who was familiar with Liaena’s concoctions however, this lacked the vibrate green colour that characterised her antidote for the shrinking potion. Instead, it had the classic bluish-white tint of her strongest sleeping drugs.

Looking down at Valion, she raised an eyebrow quizzically along with a smile. “…did you need me to find you a saucer, or are you good?”
“Uh….right. Sure” Liaena muttered in response to “Sharon” aka Valion. Wiping a hand across her eyes, the girl placed one hand on the back of the chair to steady herself.

“It’s been a long day….or two. I should get some rest”

Shrugging away the sensation, Liaena gave the tiny High Elf a smile as she lowered a hand to pick him up and place him on her shoulder. “Sure, that sounds good. Just give me a second…”

Reaching down to Malizia, Liaena produced a small vial to uncork it and trickle a measure into the Draenei’s mouth. In a moment, the ‘chevalier’ was as small as Valion, Liaena picking her up as she glanced at Serphia quickly to gauge her reaction. “You’ll find your prisoner easier to contain like this. Did you want Rithrynn to take her, or…”

“….”

“…Or maybe I could? Ok, sure? I can do that” Liaena concluded, after her analysis of Serphia indicated the Sentinel was paying no attention to her whatsoever. The girl turned to waggle her eyebrows at Rithrynn as she gestured with her eyes towards the Captain. “Is she drunk?”

Serphia had to have drunk all the communion wine in the Cathedral based on her current behaviour, and Rithrynn was studiously avoiding her gaze. The depths of whatever stupidity had occurred on their journey between Cathedral and Mansion she had clearly only just begun to plumb, Liaena concluded as she turned away with an eyeroll. “Fine then. Sharon and I will catch up….Rithrynn, why don’t you see if Naliyah’s free?”

“Hmm? Oh yeah, sounds good!”

“…………………….”

Liaena paused, as what felt like a shiver ran down her spine. The girl turned, to glance between Rithrynn, Serphia and all the other Night Elves in the room as she kept the slight smirk she had been wearing planted firmly on her face. “Great. See you later then.”

“Bye!”

Turning to walk casually out of the room, Liaena slid the hand on the opposite side of her body from where Valion was riding, into the bag she was carrying. The girl turned her head as she walked, to give the High Elf a soft smile. “So…did you want that antidote now, or later? Better to get back to normal size sooner, before one of those idiots sits on you”
“Huh. I suppose it’s less fun for her when they’re too drunk to fight back” Liaena commented sardonically from where she walked beside “Rithrynn”.

The girl glanced up with a slight smirk to gauge the Night Elf’s reaction at this, who if anything appeared to be slightly confused “….uh…right”

As the group approached the curtain still hanging over the door, Delilah darted ahead to pull it aside and usher her captain through. The group entered into the atrium, which appeared much the same as it had as they left, except with more empty plates and bottles scattered around. One elf was lying on some cushions scattered across the floor, who looked as though she was in the throes of a particularly evil hangover as she raised an arm to wave it at the group. “Haaaaai….Mistress. Urrrghh…”

“Rithrynn, where’s Sharon?” Liaena muttered to the Night Elf she was walking next to as she also stepped through the doorway. The girl was scanning the group for any sign of the little High Elf – but no, no sign of him – not to mention that he would have made himself known to her anyway. “Don’t tell me you lost him again?”

“Not to mention the Public Relations disaster….again”

The girl thought to herself as she studied the bound Malizia where Serphia was leading her, right ahead of them, before turning to hiss at Rithrynn once more. “And why did you let them parade a white hand mercenary through the city in broad daylight!? The whole POINT was that you lot – hadn’t – been – seen – fighting – them! Think about what the papers are going to make of this! Jeez…”

“Um, is there a problem?”

“…..”

Liaena couldn’t help but stare as Serphia loomed over her, having addressed her in a tone she had previously believed the Night Elven Captain wasn’t even capable of. “…Yeeees. I was wondering why you have that Draenei?”

“I demand you release me at once! I demand – urk!”

As Malizia had opened her mouth to start yelling again, Liaena had withdrawn her dart gun, stepped forward and shot the large draenei in the butt at point blank range. The “White Hand” toppled forward with a surprised look on her face, only for her fall to be arrested as she began to levitate in mid-air and started snoring loudly. Liaena meanwhile turned back to “Serphia” with a carefully sculpted submissive expression on her face. “I thought she might be disturbing your warriors rest, Captain”

“No shouty, mrwhhh…..”

“Exactly” Liaena bobbed her head at the unhappy Night Elf in the corner, who glowered at her before lowering her face back to the floor to continue groaning to herself. “So….how did you capture this White Hand? Was there a fight between here and the Cathedral?”

The girl glanced around at the group, of which the Night Elves looked conspicuously unhurt. “You clearly got the best of it, if you did”
“…Maybe” Kathlin said, after a hesitant pause. The girl gave the large Captain a long shrug, that served to demonstrate the futility of ever hoping to predict Liaena’s movements. “She might just have called a cab, and gone back to Mr. Dal’diebs house. We did spend a while down in the sewer, after all”

The girl glanced around the canal path they had found themselves on, to observe they were garnering quite considerable amounts of attention – particularly towards those Elves that had been unfortunate enough to find themselves in the sewer water, Aleena and Rithrynn. “…you are getting stared at, so you might just want to go home. I got the impression you wanted a low profile”

Not so far away, one of the cities hackney carriages clanked to a halt in the slush right outside Sharon’s mansion, right next to where the group of ‘Night Elves’ were trying their best to stop the actual Night Elf defending ‘Serphias’ honour. A petite girl with black hair was clambering out of it before it had even had time to stop properly, tossing a coin to the driver as she landed in the slush.
Tossing her head to look over at the group of Night Elves, Liaena spared ‘Serphia’ a single glance as she stepped towards the gate. “I’ve got the antidote. Did you….”

“….”

Pausing, the little human did a double take as she turned back around to stare at Malizia. “Who in the Light is that? Are you kidnapping citizens now? If they’ve kidnapped you…” (this was to Malizia) “…I’m sure whatever happened, the elves started it”

Having stopped to survey Malizia, Liaena cast her eyes over the rest of the elves. ‘Serphia’ was still preoccupied with trying to hold Delilah back, alternating apologies and weak orders. “….where’s Rithrynn? And Sharon? Did you leave them back at the Cathedral or something?”
“….Shall we go?” Kathlin enquired meekly into the deafening silence, Rithrynn looking strongly tempted to bull-rush Ashira into the river of sludge, Sharon and all. Without waiting for an answer, the girl turned to wander down the tunnel after the now very far ahead Serphia.

The Night Elves finally reorganising themselves after a lot of snarling to follow the girl, the sewer was noticeably widening as multiple small pipes dotted along the wall leaked into it. The murky water looked considerably deeper and there was a noticeably black oily tinge to the water.

“Agggh! Something grabbed my foot”

The scream from Aleena came as the other sentinels whirled around, that Night Elf having drawn her sword and now pointing it at random locations around them in the gloom. The dark water in the sewer below ‘glooped’ innocently.

“Oh….that’ll be the squid I mentioned. You probably had something nice tasting stuck to your ankle” Kathlin said consolingly to Aleena, who was quite obviously not at all consoled by this. “Don’t worry, he’s quite friendly”

This comment was punctuated by two large tentacles whirling out of the dark water, wrapping them around the unfortunate Aleena and dragging her bodily into the water. A scream of rage was ended by a loud ‘BLUB’.

“Now that’s mean. Bad Marvin! Naughty!” Kathlin said sharply. Flapping a hand at Rithrynn (all the sentinels now had their bows out, arrows nocked and pointed at the water), the girl made a ‘just bear with me’ sort of face as she stepped out to levitate above the murk. “Drop it. Go on, drop it!”

With a loud ‘SPLAT’, Aleena’s sword rocketed out, sans owner, to clatter onto the ledge. “Drop the elf. Who wants a treat, now?”

The murky water seemed to tremble noticeably at this, as what looked like a small whirlpool started to develop right under Kathlin just as the girl produced a small package out of one pocket. Unwrapping this to reveal a chunk of raw meat, the girl waved it enticing above the water.

“WAAAAGGGHHHH – URK!”

In a shower of gunk that splashed everybody in the area, Aleena soared out of the water to land with a similar crash right beside her sword. “What a good boy! Well done!”

As the girl dropped the meat into the water, it was sucked down without a trace. Kathlin turned to walk back across the air to the others, before dropping down as she reached the ledge. Irrespective of the gunk, Aleena got a consoling pat on the shoulder as she turned to walk on. “He can be a bit difficult with strangers…but he’s lovely when you get to know him”
“Nope” Kathlin uttered quietly, following Rithrynn’s line of gaze to stare at the extremely empty shoulder epaulet. “Maybe he fell in the sewer? If he was separated from us when you fell earlier, my levitate spell wouldn’t have included him…it requires touch range”

“Dammit! Shaww! SHAWWW!”

“Then again, he does have his teleport spells, doesn’t he?”
Kathlin added consolingly as Rithrynn turned around to start heading down the tunnel again back the way they had come. Cries of anger from the Night Elves that had been following them, showed very clearly their displeasure with Rithrynn attempting to push past them on the narrow ledge. “What are you doing!? Get back in line!”

One of them, Aleena, still dripping with sludge from her impromptu bath in the sewer, gave Rithrynn a good hard shove as the latter attempted to bulldoze past her. Feet sliding on the slimy stone cobbles, the Night Elf slipped with a scream into the sewer – only to start floating once more in mid-air as a levitate spell arrested her fall.

Meanwhile, down at the tail end of the queue of Night Elves, one of the elves apparently got fed up waiting for whatever was taking place up at the top and started to push forcefully at the girls in front of her. Feeling the effects of this up at the top, Aleena squealed as the elf right behind slammed into her and both started to fall towards the sewer!

“Ah…mind yourself , please”

Kathlin gasped as she grabbed onto Aleena’s shoulder, just as the elf fell past her on the way to a beautiful belly-flop. Both elves, both Aleena and the other she was tangled up with immediately stopped in mid-air, to also bob along above the sewer water. Kathlin gently disentangled herself from Rithrynn to step onto the ledge and safety, the strain of holding up three large Night Elves plus armour clearly showing on her face as she dragged the others after her. “Would you mind just holding still? Else…”

“This is your fault, stupid! Your monkies brought us into this cess pit!” Aleena cursed as she lashed out, clobbering Rithrynn across the chest with a sodden stinking fist. As the blow struck, the levitate spell dissolved around them and all three elves plummeted downwards, to land with an almighty great SPLASH.

“….you might, er, disrupt the spell”

Kathlin finished pensively as she glanced around the sewer. Humming a tune under her breath, she raised a hand that began to glow with a golden light. In the light cast by it, her eyes settled on a tiny elf that carefully ventured out of a corner now that the chaos on the ledge had abated somewhat. “Oh, hello Mr. Dal’dieb. Rithrynn will be glad that you’re safe”
OMG, a Li postie!

also, Naliyah is with us? I thought we left her in the mansion(where she is probably having all kinds of "funs" with the remaining sentinels)! :O

Either way, I'll have a postie up later this even ^_^

glad to see you back, li!

We probably did. I've got a bit confused over all of the Night Elf names as it's been so long - I was trying to refer to the one that thought that the rune blade was the best trophy EVAR. I'll have a post up tomorrow :) (yay Friday, guilt-free late nights)
