Vera sat down opposite him and met his gaze seriously. "I don't care if you eat, so long as you listen." Her gaze had a glint of ferocity, demanding an ounce of his respect. "I know that if there's one thing you hate, it's weakness. So I think it's a mistake to leave the Broms without a second-in-command."

Fabine finishes skinning his squirrel and then sticks it on a stick, placing it over the fire to cook. He meets her gaze and nods. "I agree. Weakness is something that I hate." He then tilts his head. "So what you're saying is that I'm making a mistake. As leader." He raises an eyebrow. "You're not off to a very good start here."
"You're going to learn." Jayden says simply, shifting and standing up. He stretches momentarily and then turns his attention back to her. "You know basics, right? Destin always showed you little tips and stuff. You can start from that."

A fellow scientist was waiting for Brianna in the room with the cage. His expression was guarded, but he was excited about the next round of expieriments. It wasn't necessarily torture per se, but some might see it as cruel. He eyed Ambrose silently and smirked to himself. "Ready for today?"

Elauna scoffs slightly. "Yeah. Pretty much taught me how to wrap wounds and apply medicine. But nothing as elaborate as he does." She glares at him a bit. "What. Are you going to be my supervisor now or some shit?" She scoffs and walks past him, heading towards camp. "You got me into this fucking mess."

Ambrose jumps a bit at the voice and looks towards it. He quickly masks his fear. "Oh look! New creepy scientist guy!" He grins cheekily. "I'm Ambrose. I am so ready for today! Do inform me of the itinerary so I may plan my day accordingly!" He pulls at the handcuffs and pouts at the man. "Can you, you know, let me down? This hurts my wrists."
After Ambrose had been knocked out, Brianna had the guards place him in a thick steel cage where they kept most of the shifters who survived the first day and chain up his hands into handcuffs. That night as she lay in bed she fantasised about all the experiments they would perform on it. It was unusual of her to get so riled up about a subject, particularly one that she had to call by name. Not to mention she had to keep him alive. All she had originally wanted was a few short experiments out of the girl - the one who had vanished with no explanation - followed by a dissection. Now she had to deal with this character. She still felt violated by the touching of their lips. He was a wretch of disrespect.
Early in the morning The Boss had called her. Perhaps he had sensed her rage, for he had ensured her that she may do anything she like as long as he be kept alive for certain. His words were soft and dripping with some other plan that she couldn't explain. After his call she slipped her labcoat on and took the short walk from her apartment to the scientific facility. She tried to hurry as she knew that at the boy's cage a lab partner would be waiting for her.

Ambrose wakes up disoriented and confused. He looks around and pales, realizing he was in a cage. He growls and tugs on the handcuffs, trying to pull free. His heart began racing in panic. "No..." He whispers and kicks his legs, trying to get out. He scowls as he was unable to. "Hello? Mister boss man? Mean bitch lady?? Anyone!"

Vera approached Fabine and looked him in the eye politely. "Fabine, I want to talk to you about something," she began calmly, masking her nervousness well. She tried her best to skip the small talk, knowing it would only bore him. She watched him carefuly, trying to interpret his reaction.

Fabine rolls his eyes. "It's always something with you people." He says, walking past her. "I'm eating, if you have a problem with that, it will have to wait." He says firmly, heading over to the pile of food and rummaging through it. He finds a squirrel and sits at a fire to skin it. He glances at her with a raised eyebrow. "Well?"
Vera blinked awake and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. She leapt out of bed and quickly got ready for the morning. She tried to ignore the anxiety that was nagging her, but pushed it away. Nothing to do but make my case, she thought firmly, lacing up her laces. She threw her bow over her shoulder and jogged out of her tent, hoping to intercept Fabine on his way out to patrol.

Fabine walks out of his tent, his usual scowl on his face. He glances around the camp, snorting. "Nothing exciting going on." He says to himself, before heading over to one of the fires in the middle of camp to get something to eat. He doesn't notice Vera heading out of her tent as he walks past her tent on his way.

Elauna slowly sits up and scowls. She rubs her arm where he'd pinned it down. "Ass." She gets to her feet and brushes herself off There was a small pain in her heart, when she thought of how much he had cared for her. Shaking her head she begins gathering her arrows, ignoring the Rabins. Let them fend for themselves, she wanted to be done with this whole thing.

Elauna watches as the Rabins and Destin leave. she scowls. "So what. Am I just supposed to take over as Healer without having any experience?" She demands, crossing her arms at Jayden.

Misha shook her head. "No, um.." She scratched her head. "Nah, I don't believe you at all." She let out a bitter laugh, her eyes cold when she glanced back up at Mona. "You know what they did to me in, like, an hour? Can you imagine any longer?"

Mona pales. "They didn't want Ambrose because of his chromosomes....they won't test on him now. I really don't think they will. He'll be fine!"

Dione smiled softly. "Thank you, Sacha, but I'll be fine." She focused on steadying herself as they padded back through the woods. "So.." she started at they edged again from the Broms. "No Ambrose. No rude Brom girl." She shrugged, then corrected herself. "Well, we certainly found one of those, but not the right one."

Sacha nods. "I'm sorry Dione. We came out hee for Ambrose, your boyfriend, and you got hurt in the process, and we don't even have him to show for it..."
Misha frowned. "Uh.. yeah, there was someone with me, I guess." She gave a vague shrug. "I just.. not really clear." She was silent for a few moments, staring at the desert dunes and sparse flora passing by outside the window. Then, after a long pause, she sat up straighter and narrowed her eyes. Her voice was shrill. "Wait. You left another shifter in the hell factory? What the fuck, ya huge asses?"

"We had to...he sacrificed himself so we could get you out..I'm sure he'll be fine!" Even though Mona didn't believe that, she really didn't need Misha freaking out on her. She bites her lip. "Don't worry, we'll get him out...sometime."
Liwei took a deep breath. He look at the door for a long moment, considering the dust floating past the thick metal as he slid his foot down onto the gas pedal and sped away before the others at the compound noticed anything conspicuous. He looked at Mona and nodded. He slid one hand over to cover hers in an offer of comfort. Guilt bit at the edge of his thoughts as the van ate up road and they left the boy behind.

Misha glanced back at the compound. "My... my friend?" She shook her head, face scrunching in an effort to remember the person they were talking about. "Like I said," she mumbled as she pulled a seatbelt over her waist. "Don't really remember any of this. It's all so spotty."

Mona bites her lip and sets her other hand on top of his, whimpering softly. She then looks at Misha. "The boy you were with?" She asks softly, before shaking her head. "I'm sure it'll come back to you."
