The Two Sides

Nadia moves her body through the water. She hadn't been in her animal form in awhile and it was nice to stretch her flippers, so to say. Her eyes glanced at the fish that swam away from her, and she dove to go after a few. The current wasn't too strong at this part of the river. She had no idea Marik was above, watching.

Hunter just holds the pliers up and waits for Ptelea to open her mouth wide enough. As she wailed he went to remove an inscisor.

Jayden takes her hand and shakes it firmly. He smiles warmly at her before turning to head to the healer's tent. He had a bad feeling but decided checking in on Elauna was a better idea. He didn't know she was out in the forest.

Eglantine heads to one of the fires to make herself something to eat. She takes a look around, taking note of who was in camp.

Marik watches Nadia slip away with surprise. Of course, he'd had no idea to what she shifted into but it was unusual to see a creature that wasn't land-based for once. The creature had looked cumbersome for the moment it had been on the land but the moment she slipped into the water it became incredibly agile. He'd never seen anything quite like it. He crept to the edge of the river and looked to see if he could spot her beneath the water's surface.

Brianna looks away from the scene. She didn't think she was strong enough to watch a little girl have teeth ripped from her mouth. Ptelea was beginning to look more and more like her niece. She hoped that the rescue squad would come for her soon and end this. She bit her lip, knowing at the same time that those teeth were important for her goal.

The Boss knew that the scientists would definitely need some of those teeth. He texts the rescue team. Enter in ten minutes unless instructed otherwise.

Ptelea looks at Brianna fearfully. She could sense her discomfort. "Please don't let him hurt me!" She sobs, looking at Ambrose. "ROSEY!!!"

Ambrose finches and looks away, shivering. "Just do as they say Ptelly. I can't help you..." he says softly but loud enough for Ptelea to hear.

Pteleas eyes widen. "But Rosey..." she whimpers, squirming in Hunter's arms.

"Oh, okay," Jayden blinks. He continues walking with her until about halfway into the clearing. "Well, I'll leave you to it then? Was nice talking to you, Eglantine." He breathes, turning to face her.

Jayden looks at her and laughs. "Yeah, you got that right. It's draining." He noticed they were just about at camp and nodded to himself.

ÉGLANTINE smiles a bit and looks around as they walk into the camp. She exhales softly, shaking her head.

Marik felt a cold chill at the mere sight of Nadia putting her hand in the water and wonders what she is doing. She didn't seem to be going to drink it. He walks just a little closer to watch her.

Brianna leans on the bars of the cage, the dim light reflecting off her glasses in a manner that hid her eyes. "Oh, Rosey didn't just tell us where you were. We know everything little parrot. We know about daddy and mummy and all the little problems which cast you out into the world." She grabs some pliers from their collection of equipment and holds it through the bars for Hunter to take. "Let's begin collecting some more of those dear stem cells."

"Indeed, we'll get her out as soon as possible." The Boss looks at his phone. "We have a few possible locations already." he tells Ambrose. "We just need to wait for my men to search each of them."

Ptelea begins crying. "No, Rosey wouldn't tell you anything about us! " she struggles, looking at her brother painfully. "I want Rosey!!" She wails.

Ambrose just nods weakly at the Boss. "Ptelea, it's okay, love. Be strong. Don't let them see you cry." He looks at his sister softly. "I love you so much, we're going to get you out of there..."

Jayden pays close attention and blinks. "I'm doing all right. Things have been... going?" He replies, glancing back to the trail. "Just a bit of old drama resurfacing." I don't think I should tell her about my involvement with Destin and Eluana. Fabine doesn't even know yet, he thinks to himself as they walk.

Églantine nods. "Drama is never fun." She signs, also mouthing the words.

Jayden watches her hands but wasn't sure what she asked. "Hmm... can you mouth the words too by any chance? So I can try to understand."

Jayden was lost in his thoughts until he felt her look at him. He glances at her as well and smiles softly.

Eglantine hesitates before smiling back. She tilts her head and decides to try something. How are you? She signs.

Jayden's gaze follows the trees as they continued closer to camp. He thinks about everything with Elauna, Destin, and Aya... he hopes the two got home safely. He makes an inward note to be wary of Fabine.
