Eris chuckled as she led Kane to an empty wall a ways away from the kitchen area. Handing him a set of safety glasses, she popped a pair on her own face and loaded the nine round magazine with paintballs from her pocket. Sliding the magazine into the chamber, she fired a few test rounds at the far wall, each one bursting within a few inches. "Alright, for now we'll work on grip and aim," she said, offering him the gun as she held out by the barrel.

Eris smiled. "Thanks, shorty," she teased. "Wanna start?"

Eris craned her neck, looking up at Kane. The guy was almost a full foot taller, a novelty to petite Eris. "Not with your S&W," she said. "With this." She pulled a paintball pistol from her waistband and pretended to shoot him in the head. "Not much kick, but it shoots, which is good enough for now. It's 'spose to be a modified Walther P99. I had a real one back at the shop," she added regretfully.

Eris tensed when she heard Marcus kill one of the stiffs, gripping her Glock. When he walked away, she relaxed, then it hit her - how she could show Kane some gun safety and usage basics. They were in an Amazon warehouse, after all. After strolling through several aisles of sporting gear stacked to the ceiling, loaded Glock held in her left, dominant hand, she found what she was looking for and tore off the packaging. After making her way to Kane's 'kitchen,' she said, "Still wanna learn to shoot?"

So right now, while we introduce our characters, they're just killing time, but some should probably have some sort of chore to do to contribute to the well-being of the gang. As I said in the interest check, this is the first RP I've posted here, so please, feel free to correct me or suggest a better opener or whatever else.

One last thing before I crash for a few hours: how do you guys want the zombie contagion to pass? A scratch/bite kind of thing?

Eris was perched on her mattress, balanced on a forklift, ten feet in the air, thinking. She'd pitched the idea of a raid for the umpteenth time - she needed to check the shooting range again to see what she could scavenge - but instead of letting the guys shut her down immediately, she'd insisted they think on it before retreating to her bed, surrounded by copies of her favorite books, spare clothes, and several bags, containing the few weapons and bricks of ammo she could carry with her as she left the shop. She absently picked up her Glock - her favorite firearm, requiring little maintenance. It was a little snappier than her 19, but she enjoyed the extra kick. She checked the magazine lying near it and considered some target practice, maybe even teaching Kane to shoot, but after a moment set the gun back down, deeming the activity a waste of ammunition.
