Bio

Call me Flo if fluorescent's too much! (I've also been called Flur, which is cool, too!) If it's Bioware-related, space-related, or hella gay, I probably love it. I'm also basically an Elementary fanatic at this point, and for some reason I have a thing for basketball.

I'm pansexual and agender; feel free to ask me about it, as I'm open to discussing my gender identity and sexual orientation, but don't be a dick. I'm here to enjoy myself, not to field rude questions. Anyways, that means I would like it if you referred to me with they/them pronouns. If that bothers or upsets you, don't refer to me at all.

But at the end of the day, I'm just here to have a good time! I love writing and it's something I've been doing on the side for the last six or seven years, and I've even taken a couple classes focused on writing in college. So let's get to it, then!

I'm far too tired to finish it tonight, but I WILL get a post up tomorrow. If not, you guys can like... shoot Shira and Corrina repeatedly or something until I finish it.
@reiko Go for it!
Got my third character done!

I'm about to fall asleep working on a third character I just had the inspiration to write a few hours ago, but here's a fun little hint (as well as the source of the inspiration, which I think tells a lot about what kind of character she'll be now that I'm mentioning that)

It occurs to me after dropping that post that those emojis in Cassandra's texts might not show up for everyone. So if you're seeing those squares that pop up when the font is missing or something after Cassandra's texts, just know that all you're missing is some mildly obnoxious emoji usage!

Cassandra's pop opera - heh, popera - was disrupted by the buzz of her phone on the kitchen counter. She wrapped up washing the plate in her hands before drying off and walking around the counter to check the notification. It was a text from two minutes ago, and the buzz she had heard was the second alert that she had a text. Huh. Maybe she really did sing too loud.

She picked up the phone, taking a moment to consider how she would respond to Doris. It wasn't a long moment at all; as soon as Cassandra paused to think, she heard the horror that was Doris' workout video.

To; Doris
right back at ya, richard simmons. 😘

Cassandra went to place her phone back down onto the counter, but stopped herself. That demanded a follow up text.

To; Doris
pls do not tell me that it is actually richard simmons on that tv screen, or i am hella judging u. 👀

As she set her phone down back onto the counter, Cassandra heard applause coming from her doorway. "Thank you, thank you! I'll be here for the rest of the goddamn year until my lease is up!" Cassandra shouted at her mysterious fan before moving to sit down at her desk. She opened her laptop, heading straight to her blog to check the comments on her last blog post.

The post was pretty bland, if Cass was being honest. She had shared an article she read regarding the future of movies; in particular, how there were more movies releasing in the next couple years than the industry would be able to handle, and how it was likely set to implode upon itself. She had spent a couple paragraphs lamenting the tragic loss of relentless superhero movies before shifting gears towards what kind of implications this could have on other popular media industries, particularly her own niche of being an internet-based entertainer.

The comments, however, were always interesting. She had caught a glimpse of them while her mother was around; a lot of them were actual constructive discussion about the article she shared, but more than a handful were something close to, "omg no pics this time wtf do u think we go to ur blog for u slut." Cass loved those; it made organizing a potential blacklist on her comments section so much easier.

Her phone buzzed again. Cassandra slid the office chair across the room to the counter, checking the phone. She was expecting a response back from Doris, so when she found an email notification from her bank regarding a deposit titled "A Present from Mom, for that camera you've wanted," Cassandra was understandably excited. She grinned as she checked her balance; her mom always pulled through when Cassandra really didn't need her to. She switched over to her messaging app:

To; Mom
DID YOU KNOW YOU'RE THE BEST? BECAUSE YOU'RE THE BEST AND I LOVE YOU.

Then,

To; Rucks
ok, dude, so like. i know ur a photographer, and not a filmmaker, but u def know more about cameras than i do. so if i wanted to get a camera that's hella good for taking videos and shit, do u think u could send me some amazon links or something? thnx babe 💋

Cassandra pocketed her phone, grabbing her pack of cigarettes and lighter from the desk and skipping her way outside. She made her way to the garden - no, not the garden, because Abby might behead her. Cassandra skipped straight past the garden, past Alex and Max, and stopped a good distance from the two boys. She lit her cigarette, breathing in deeply as the smoke filled the air.

Out of the corner of her eye, Cassandra looked over Alex. Not for any reasons of her own - it was definitely one of those days where she was 100% not interested in the guy. But she couldn't get past the idea that her mom liked the kid and wanted her to get with him. Or that her mom might be interested in him for herself. Hopefully Mama Reynolds didn't try anything with the guy. That'd be fucking awkward. She'd have to ask him about it once he wrapped up his plans with Max.

She'd also have to stop fucking staring at him, but it's not like she knew she was staring.
@Thane Just make sure to delete that slash so the dividers work!
@alexfangtalon So I went to school in a 7 class per day environment in California, with 6 classes being required to take and the 7th class being an optional slot if you're a tryhard like me. A typical freshman class list looked something like this: English, Math, Science, History, and Phys Ed were full year requirements. Most kids had to take a language course, as well, which was another full year, so that left one (or two) slots open in your schedule for any elective you wanted, like cooking, computer science, etc. Essentially, up until your senior year, your classes were largely picked for you, because you had to meet credit requirements on time. My state also basically never does homeroom classes, so that entire concept is completely foreign to me.

It's different throughout the whole country, and the whole system is kinda unnecessarily complex. I have no idea how it works in other countries, though, so I'm also kinda talking out my ass.

@MissCapnCrunch I think the best way to break down class schedules would be to give a baseline for everyone and let everyone pick their character's classes from there. Like, if we're doing an 8 class day, everyone has to do the following classes their freshman year:

English
Math
Science
Social Science
Phys Ed (or sport, for the athletes)
and then three electives (or two + homeroom, if that's how we're doing that, but again I have no clue wtf homeroom is.)

Then from there, we'd have a list of classes available for each subject (English only really has English 1 available for freshmen, math is open anywhere from Algebra 1 to Calculus, depending on the student, etc etc) that everyone gets to pick from for their characters, and then a list of electives to fill out the schedule.
