Location: Her Apartment//Work//Morning
Interacting with: Mentions of Jaime @Lovely Complex

The date shone back at Dani's tired face from her phone, informing her that it was the first of March. With a scowl and a groan, the waking woman tossed the device to the side and rubbed her face. It was technically March now so why was it still so damn cold? The fact that Boston was going to continue to get snow in random bouts irked her since all she wanted to do was go back to sleep in warmer temperatures rather than getting ready while it was still dark out to brace the cold.

Dani gave herself a few more minutes of staying within her sufficient enough cocoon of blankets before peeling them away with much reluctance. However, after the obligatory shock of static that had something to do with the science of the blanket's material and the heater that she didn't understand, she officially gave up and got out of bed. As soon as her bare feet hit the ground, she cursed her stupidity for picking the apartment she had like she'd been doing for the last couple of months.

Her apartment was a 1B1B unit with sufficient living space located in East Boston. (Although she had been living there for a while, she still wasn't accustomed to calling it Eastie despite referring to the area she was from Southie. Huh.) While some people from other areas of the city might have figured the neighborhood was the reason for her regret, she didn't think there was anything wrong with it. The price of the rent was reasonable and affordable, it was close to the Blue Line, which allowed her to get into work in a mere fifteen minutes.

She had taken all of this into account when signing the lease – after all it was only logical to – and thought there was nothing wrong. Unfortunately, she had a small oversight in that the floor was fucking tile. And now she had to deal with the consequences of jolting and getting frostbite on her feet every morning for the past few months as she wobbled with haste to her bathroom to stand on her fuzzy, purple bath rug.

After taking a hot shower to wake and warm herself up, Dani checked the notifications on her phone. There were a few emails in regards to business and her responsibilities that she decided to address once in the office. The rest were social media alerts that she gave herself a few minutes to browse through. Seeing that one of her closest friends, Jaime, had posted a vlog a few hours prior, Dani decided to watch it while getting ready.

Apparently this morning's topic was going to be about positivity and self belief. While it might not have been a subject Dani thought she needed advice on for herself or cared much for if she were being honest, it was nice to have Jaime's cheery presence around since the two only saw each other so often with how busy their professional careers were despite being so close. Plus, she knew Jaime would ask her if she watched it soon enough, and she might as well have done it when she could.

"Rah rah fight the powah!" Dani snorted with an affectionate roll of her eyes at Jaime's adorableness as she was coming to the end of the video. Sometimes it was crazy to think how the two women were entwined by a green string when the differences between them were so vast. Pausing the video, Dani commented: ur a k(lu)t(z) Switching her phone to play music into the headphones she plugged in, she pocketed it and put on some thin gloves, heading out to the transit station.

The weather wasn't snowing today and thankfully it wasn't too windy either so the ten minute walk was bearable. Once boarded on the line, Dani took a look outside of the window as it passed the Inner Harbor. She considered visiting her parents in Southie soon before her thoughts trailed off to how strange the names and division of the city was. For a moment, she was reminded of the irksome Great Gatsby with its East Egg, West Egg nonsense. In addition to that annoyance, it had a terrible plot and the dumbest characters, making it an all round shitty book in Dani's opinion.

When she was obligated to read it in her junior year, her class had a discussion on whether Gatsby and Daisy were entwined soulmates and that's why he was going so far to be with her despite her potential fraying of their string. Even back then, Dani had shook her head at the ridiculousness, both at the fictional characters and the readers who became so passionate about the romanticism of it all. She honestly couldn't imagine being so taken with someone that'd she go through even half of the trouble others did. That's why soulmates were stupid.

As if a desperate attempt to convince her otherwise, Dani's eyes shifted as the transit entered into Downtown. Taking a brief look around, she noticed the fanfare of the Spring Festival sponsored by SPECTRUM a little ways further. It was honestly just a matter of time before they held their huge event in Boston, and Dani knew that. She only figured that she would have the free will to not attend when it did. However, her last meeting with Jaime effectively had her caving in to the other girl and agreeing to attend if only to make her good friend happy and sate her curiosity on the man who was tied to said friend.

The next day she had submitted a request to be on the committee that would attend the festival to do data collection. Although the higher ups had been surprised by the choice coming from her, she had pointed out that she would be the most objective to the job since she didn't care to be distracted by finding her soulmate. Since employees who took on additional projects got compensated with extra pay, Dani figured she might as well get something concrete out of having to attend the dumb circus.

Now though, looking at the evidence that this was actually going to happen and she would be attending just the next day, the young professional scowled in disdain. As she got off at her stop, she contemplated the pros and cons of terrible weather rolling in tomorrow. Sure, she'd have to brace it but maybe less people would come. As soon as that idea had come to her, she dismissed it. All the irrational romantics coming to the festival would stop at nothing short of death to meet their Fated, their True Love, the One, and whatever other cheesy names they were given.

Having arrived at the office, Dani pushed away the distracting thoughts she shouldn't concern herself with. It was time to work; doing something that was productive and would provide actual substance.

Nar Shaddaa - Refugee Sector
The Refuge Cantina

The cantina was packed with glass jars of assorted shapes and sizes. Some were tall and others were wide or with various projections jutting out of their main form. However, this wasn't an unusual sight for the venue or the lone Zeltron lingering to the side of its entrance. What intimidated the woman was the colorful vapors that swirled inside each clear container. The different pigments mixed while keeping within their respective boundaries, yet the whole place was too packed with a variety of diverse hues and shades that it strained on Faryn. Her eyes were well adjusted, but her internal framework had enough pressure to make her uneasy.

Long, dark eyelashes lightly breathed against her skin before she opened her eyes and saw the scene most everyone else was: a regular cantina booming with patrons that had come from all crevices of the galaxy. The uniform bond, no matter how general, granted her the brief reassurance to enter. Tugging her shrouding brown cloak closer to her form, Faryn took ample measures to not get too close to anyone as she made her way to the stools that rested at the round bar.

Some of the clear glasses were pressed tightly against each other or stacked on top of without either managing to crack. However, the indigo-haired female knew that her getting too close would result in the shattering of the protective barrier that prevented her from becoming overwhelmed. If she were lucky, she would only encounter vials filled with warm oranges and fuzzy yellows. But she had seen a significant amount of vessels with harsh reds and sickly greens when taking in the area before immersing herself into it. She didn't like her odds and couldn't risk it. Especially since she was at this specific setting of a multitude of passions for an entity that threatened her.

Despite not being the table she was designated to, Faryn took a seat once at the bar. Ending up next to a Human male whose focus was on chatting up a beautiful Twi'lek was not her ideal choice but there was limited availability and the Zeltron could appreciate the lack of attention. She needed to focus on her surroundings, specifically in the area of table 17.

Still, she wished she could have a drink to calm her nerves. It probably wasn't the best idea since it would take more than a few to get the desired affect, and she would eventually have to succumb to interacting with whomever the Exchange had gathered for her to work alongside. And she knew nothing about them. Diverting her attention to the location as a means of distraction, Faryn wondered why the organization had decided for everyone to meet here. It certainly had a level of danger and risk both to those gathered and the exposure of whatever task they would be given. Perhaps they weren't even being given a mission; perhaps they were the mission. It was easier to capture or kill certain individuals without tipping off the others if they all were gathered and taken care of at the same time, right? What if the Exchange were watching them this instant? They probably were. And that was why she decided to distance herself from the target area.

Finally deciding to take a look at where she was supposed to be, Faryn slowly turned to see a Nautolan and Human at the table with another figure approaching them. Although she did not see anyone affiliated with the Exchange, or that she knew of, the newcomer carried themselves as if they were. She didn't need to use her empathy to tell that all three of them were on edge and most likely suspicious of each other. Knowing that postponing heading over was making matters worse, the woman still couldn't convince herself of the benefits to going. Sure she knew the risks of doing the opposite but with the atmosphere that surrounded the table, she would surely be affected and merely contribute to the cycle of distrust and lack of unity.

Hearing the voice of the man next to hear speak to the bartender, Faryn listened as she heard him instruct the other to continue serving the Twi'lek he had been conversing with earlier once she came back from getting some fresh air. Inside he burned a vibrant crimson; cocky and unburdened from any doubt. She could really use some of that confidence. Exhaling, the girl brought a gentle hand to pull off the hood of her cloak, consequently releasing her sweet smelling pheromones in the man's direction. Immediately, he shifted his attention to the other for the first time and took in the woman. Rudely snapping for the bartender's attention without taking his eyes off Faryn, he spoke once the man came back to assist them.

"Actually, have my tab placed on this lovely lady."

A soft, playful giggle emitted from Faryn as she felt the jar cracking and wisps of red seeped out toward her. But things were moving too slow. Placing her hands on the man's face, the Zeltron pulled him closer and engaged in a passionate kiss with the stranger with no sense of shame despite feeling the looks of others. Some were intrigued while others were abashed. But those didn't matter because the glass was shattered now and she was engulfed in a burning sensation that brought her back to her assured self. It was nice.

Once she felt the man's grip on her upper arm, she knew she would have to slow down the passion felt for it would evolve to something different than she initially desire. Thankfully, some shouting could be heard and it was enough to distract the two. Pulling away and looking in the direction of the commotion, Faryn felt the curiosity of those surrounding her which only served to amplify her own interest. She must have affected the Human she had just engaged with too for he left his seat to join the growing crowd surrounding the commotion. Unable to see past the gathering, the woman turned to the bartender.

"I'd like a tray of your best assortment for a whole table, please. Thank you."

As she waited, she concentrated on blocking out whatever was occurring that held the attention of many others. Another vial had broken but this time it was anger that was spreading.

Just as the bartender handed her a tray filled with many different colored drinks, Faryn caught the words of someone that had been directly involved in the situation she was currently trying to avoid. The attention wasn't good for them, and she was sure the Exchange probably wanted to keep their matters as private as possible. Grabbing a random drink off the tray, the Zeltron downed the whole thing in one go, placing it back despite it being empty. As expected, it did nothing and she pulled her cloak back up before taking the tray and heading to the side of the crowd.

Quickly so she wasn't swept into the volatile flurry of emotions, she dropped the empty glass, effectively shattering it and causing everyone's attention to be diverted to it. A nearby worker came over with equipment to clean the mess as Faryn continued toward the path to table 17 and the crowd began dispersing, having been settled from the mundane accident that had just occurred. Smiling to herself that her diversion worked and the environment had become less hostile, the woman's walk fell back in step to her usual confident stride.

As she came closer, she noticed a newcomer she hadn't been made aware of earlier. Another Human male. All but the Nautolan were standing.

Shifting the tray to one hand, she took her hood off once more, looking like any other server as she made room for herself into the group. Carefully setting the tray down in the middle of the table, she commented, "Drinks. On me," in a friendly tone as she stood back up. Now with free hands, Faryn took off her cloak completely and lightly tousled her hair before draping the article on the seat next to the Nautolan and sitting beside him, giving off the impression that she was making herself at home.

Presenting a genuine smile to the rest of those gathered, she introduced herself.

"Faryn Nonome. Pleased to meet all of you. Take a seat, relax, have a drink. I'm sure we could all use one."

To prove her statement, she grabbed a glass and took a sip.

Location: The Campgrounds → King of Clubs Cabin
Interacting with: Each other

It had been a long time since Jimena had watched Kiran walk away out of sight. Longer still when Jimena finally decided that if she left it up to the counselors, she’d be standing there a while more.

All the better for it, she thought. Jimena didn’t feel like following a guide, listening to their chattering about the campgrounds and how much fun she’ll have if she only gives it a chance. She’d come to terms with the fact that she’d have to ease up if she hoped to last the ten weeks, but she wasn’t up to having it thrown in her face again. She wanted as much alone time as possible, since she expected there wouldn’t be much of that once camp activities kick off. Besides, she didn’t need a guide. She’d just spotted a nearby map board. In no time she’d already taken a picture and grabbed one of the foldable maps from the little shelf at the bottom of the board. After locating herself in the map, she found her destination, the Clubs cabin.

With a determined tug of her baseball cap, “Okay,” Jimena followed the route she had devised.

Dani saw Jimena leave the group. Does this mean they had to find their own way to the cabins without being told to, or waiting to be given instructions? The shy sixteen year old shrugged, went to the map board, quickly found where they were, and where the King of Clubs cabin was. It was a straightforward route, and Dani’s love of fantasy novels had given her good map-reading skills. She soon realised that the route was taking her the same way as the girl who’d left earlier, so she followed behind. After a while she became very self- conscious of how stalker-y she looked, so thought about saying something to break the ice, but couldn’t think of anything to say.

It wasn’t long before Dani was spotted. In a moment of doubt, Jimena looked around her in an attempt to reestablish her location in the map. It was then she noticed the black-haired girl trailing behind her. Judging by the way the girl’s eyes went wide with panic when she stopped to face her, Jimena guessed she had been following her for a while. The deer-in-headlights look in the girl’s face was amusing, almost endearing to Jimena, who found a smile tugging at the edge of her mouth. She decided to give in, reminding herself of what happened the last time she decided to not be a total asshole. She’d met Kiran.

“Hey.” Her voice came out a little more strained than Jimena intended.

“Uh, hey!” Dani replied in a startled tone, her facial expression not really having changed from having been seen following her. ‘Guess it’s straight into the deep end,’ she thought to herself.

“You, uhm... you looking for something?”

“I’m heading to the King of Clubs cabin. I figured you were heading to the Clubs cabins yourself...”

“Yep. I'm King of Clubs, too,” Jimena was relieved to hear that. It was likely she'd have a roommate she could stand. “I'm Jimena.”

“I’m Dani,” the shy girl replied, starting to offer her hand, before hesitating and wondering if this was normal, but she’d already started to make the gesture, so she couldn’t change her mind now. She fully extended her hand for a handshake.

Jimena gladly took her hand. “It's not far now,” she assured with a smile. She turned around slowly, so as to not turn her back on Dani, and continued down the path she'd designed. Hell yeah, she thought to herself, amazed at how well the interaction shed just had went. Under her standards, of course, which weren't very high.

Dani followed behind, also smiling despite herself. That was fairly painless in her opinion. She’d talked to a stranger. It was a start. The first step to become the person she wanted to be. As she followed, she became very conscious of the silence that had emerged, all the more unbearable for them having actually broken the ice now. Dani would actually be perfectly content to walk in silence, but she felt she had to say something though no words would come to her head, so she followed on in silence once again.

Trekking down another path, that would soon connect with the trail that Jimena and Dani were on, the ditzy counselor known as Kylie scrolled in her phone without service looking through her gallery. Grumbling to herself, she dramatically sighed, “This place is a dead zone. It’s a sad time for my instagram. I’m going to take all the pictures and write down the hashtags I think of. ‘Livin’ in the sunshine. Camping with friends. #California #Naturetones.’”

Glancing up from her phone, she continued to act like a phenomenal tour guide, even if she got distracted far too much than the average human, “To your left leads you to Hiker’s Peak, which you can go the path that is scenic and less work, or be a total badass and rock climb. My baby taught me how to rock climb.”

Turning her head toward her companion, Kylie gave a gleaming smile, obviously full of love when she talked about her fiance. This action helped her catch sight of two campers walking down a separate path, but heading in the same direction as them. Unlike the other counselors, Kylie was not wearing her Heart shirt (yet… she forgot), so from the distance she looked like just another camper. Calling out, with her pleasantly smooth, yet loud valley girl voice, Kylie waved at the two strangers with the hand that held her phone, “Helloooooo there! ARE YOU LOST?!” Picking up her pace, she beckoned Alex, her newfound friend (regardless if it was mutual or not), to follow.

The shout scared the bejeezus out of Jimena, who nearly jumped into the air. She spun her head to see the girl waving and running towards Dani and her. “Nope!” she called out and held out her map, “No, we're good.” Dani, however, winced when she heard the shouting, and retreated into herself, making her body a little smaller. On one hand, she felt like she should make more of an effort, on the other hand, she didn’t know if she could right now. Baby steps. She’d already made progress today. The shy girl muttered something inaudible in reply to Kylie.

In a matter of seconds, Kylie met with the other girls where the paths converged. With a carefree disposition, the model-esque, redheaded counselor tapped her pointer finger on her chin in thought, “You know what’s better than a map? A tour guide! Hi, I’m Kylie. I was just showing Alex here where she would be staying. She’s a Clubs girl!” The morning sky was brilliantly blue and through the wood, the cascading light peered down, into and out of the leaves. The counselor’s left hand, whose pointer finger was still tapping on her chin, was adorned with a pink sapphire diamond ring (heart shaped) that gleamed when the white shaft touched it, ever so gently.

“Where you headin’? I can totally help you. I have all the time in the world!” No truer words were ever spoken, especially for someone like Kylie, who spent most of her time back in LA playing video games, keeping the house in top shape for when Troy came home, making dinner, and socializing with her girls. He was the bread maker, she was his constant. His never wavering, always there, beloved woman that preferred putting her efforts in her loved ones and helping him at his gym occasionally, than getting a job that would make her hate herself. Her life was good. It wasn’t for everyone, but it was for her. She was happy.

“The Clubs Cabin,” Jimena said, pointing her thumb behind her, where her path had been. “But, seriously, we’re fine. We don’t need help.” She began to turn, and as she did so she looked at Dani and quickly nodded her head to the direction where she knew the cabin was at. With her eyes, she tried to beg her, Please follow me. Dani nodded back in agreement. Hopefully they could just sneak away.

Green eyes rolled upward while brown tendrils fell toward the ground as a certain pretty girl lifted her head in the direction of the sky and let out a hostile, low groan from the back of her throat.

"Oh my god, what the fuck?!"

From where Kylie had just left, Alex let out her exasperation loud enough for the other three girls to hear the irritation before storming her way over. This was absolutely ridiculous. All she was trying to do was get out of the hot sun and to her cabin so she could drop off these heavy bags digging into her shoulders and the box that was straining her arms. But, no. She just had to be paired with someone who would not take the hint that she wasn't interested in making conversation and wouldn't shut. up.

To make things even worse, she felt the need to pick up two lost campers and continue piling on the inconveniences. How hard was it to simply walk to a goddamn cabin? Plus, wasn't the counselor supposed to be assisting her and not every person they so happened to encounter? She probably would have had a better chance of getting to her cabin quicker blindly roaming the woods and stopping to fight off a bear than following Kylie at this point. Alex should have just stalked off and found a map or someone else to help her but there was a hair out of place and falling in her face and she didn't have any free hands to fix it and she was pissed.

Blowing the loose strands out of her face, the annoyed brunette stopped just short of where the others had gathered. "No, you don't," Alex corrected Kylie's comment on how available she was. Despite having caught the sour-looking girl's responses, the mean girl continued on as if the other two campers weren't present. "Look, they obviously don't want our help so let's just leave them and get to the cabin. Who cares if they get lost?"

Under normal circumstances, Jimena would’ve at the very least curled her lip at the girl who just walked up. But whoever she was, her outburst drew the would-be-guide’s attention. Jimena seized her chance, continuing her way to the cabin at a brisk pace, though not without first locking eyes with Dani, silently pleading once more for her company. Dani followed behind, but first tried to catch the new girl’s eye. Maybe she’d follow them too. They currently shared the same misgivings about a tour guide who’d show them to the Cabin they already knew how to get to, but slower and with forced conversation. Noticing the meeker of the two additions attempt to make eye contact with her, Alex hostily narrowed her own gaze at her in a nonverbal challenge. Naturally, Dani looked away and the older snorted in reluctant satisfaction, keeping her stare on the less confident girl for another moment to observe and set the general tone of their interactions.

This didn’t make sense to Kylie at all… every single one of them were heading in the same direction. Why couldn’t they all… go together? Even if they knew where they were going, Kylie assumed company on the walk would have been more worth the excursion. Shrugging at the situation, the counselor followed behind the other two girls, though they were picking up distance fast, but not fast enough to where she couldn’t see them. “I mean, I care if they get lost because that’s another headache for Ash and another headache for Ash means headaches all around! But, they don’t look directionally challenged so I’m sure they’ll be fine. Plus, once they are in the area, my baby will know.”

Meanwhile, in the King’s Cabin, in the room designated as her’s and Troy’s bedroom for the next ten weeks, Jude glanced down at her wristwatch and with her soft-spoken voice, she yawned (still sleepy), “Jayce and Rem should be here soon. Assuming these kids we’re responsible for... were patient enough to wait and aren’t already roaming the grounds.” Jude could honestly believe that there were plenty of unaccompanied campers right now. They were teenagers. Teens who thought they had everything under control until they didn’t.

Troy had allowed himself to believe. To believe that maybe, just maybe he’d get a cabin full of people who were open to guidance to being the best person that they could be — or at least people that needed it, like he had years and years ago. The fact of the matter, though, was simple: he was more likely to get a cabin full of jack offs and assholes, and have to force himself to not knock their teeth down their throat. An act that would take a lot of self-control, even for the well-disciplined man.

Hey, at least he was sharing a room with Jude, right? There were far worse possibilities to be counseling with; number one the list of ‘shittiest options’ was certainly Melody. Troy had originally been slated to stay with her, but Ty (glorious, glorious Ty) had been willing to switch with him, and now he had Jude. Troy was currently though, mostly ignoring her.

Heavy bags deserved their namesake. Troy had brought the punching bag just in case he got really mad, which was almost inevitable. Now he was hanging it from a chain that he’d attached to the rafters. Lifting up the 120 lb bag up above his head, Troy hooked the loop on the steel hook that was dangling from in front of him, before he turned his attention to Jude. “They probably aren’t. You sure you’re fine with this thing dangling in the middle of the room? I can probably find a tree to hang it from.”

“No, it’s fine! It’s like falling asleep in your gym. I really don’t mind.” Standing up from her bed, Jude made her way to their shared closet, where she had a thin full body mirror hanging and wigs galore… she probably took up most of the closet. Ever since she transitioned, her mom and aunts have been spoiling her with whatever she wanted. Today, she wanted to have brown hair (it was fun playing around with different looks). Troy picked out her outfit for today, which really was just her black hat, her Clubs shirt, her light pink collar with a cute bow on it, her light pink skort (skirt and shorts), nylon black knee highs, and her white converse to match with the white tee. Giving herself one final look, with far more confidence than she ever had in highschool, Jude patted her brown waves down, cascading it over her shoulder, and listened to the sounds around her.

Along with Troy’s breathing, she could hear walking from outside… but there wasn’t enough chatter for it to be Jayce and Remy, who were in charge of bringing the lot of them to the base. With a swift turn on her heel, she glided toward the window and peeped through the cute blue lace curtain she had Troy hang up for her (she was short), since the windows were kind of big and people could easily see inside of the cabins, “We have company.”

Dani arrived at the door to the King of Clubs cabin, and knocked, before stepping back. She didn’t know what to say, and part of her hoped that Jimena could do the talking, or the other two had caught up by now, but deep down she knew that this was her first test; to address one of the counselors herself, without her parents, siblings or friends to share (completely take over) the burden of social interaction. She had to do this herself. It shouldn’t even be a big deal; just talking to someone and explaining things to them. But Dani was getting stage fright as she stood there waiting for the door to be opened. Jimena watched her carefully, the way her shoulders tensed. She felt almost pity for her, but mostly she found it endearing.

Behind the door, Jude ran her fingers through her hair one last time, mentally preparing herself to make a good first impression. If she were in high school, known for being her youthful (like by a lot) looks, that made heterosexual jocks and bullies question their sexual preference (because at the time she was a he) and her high excellence, especially in subjects like science and math (NERD), she wouldn’t have the courage to do this. Be a counselor. Talk to strangers and try to be a role model for them. It felt like only yesterday when she raced down the halls, just to avoid talking to anyone and lock herself in the robotics lab with people like Kelsey, who also wasn’t the most sociable of teenagers. Jude came a long way. A lot of soul searching and building her self esteem up. Believe it or not, it was all thanks to the friends she made - thanks to Connor that faithful day he asked her to tutor Ender. Her first, and only, boyfriend to this day.

Standing at 5’2”, having grown a few more inches over the years (leaving poor Isabel in the dust - rip shorty), Jude reached for the knob and opened it slowly, making sure she didn’t hit anyone on the other side. Her attention was rewarded with a dark haired beauty. Jude, by far, was the least intimidating counselor that walked Aces High. Kelsey, Remy, and… probably Aaron followed next. Or Ty, but his accent (and well, words) definitely made people think he was an ass. He was the most loving, once you got past the whole ‘first impression’ stage.

The rest though? They were either intimidating by their scary attractive looks, their scary personalities (Melody would cut a bitch if they took her Connor away from her, Belle got shit done and took care of her’s, even Shy and Lu had questionable… quirks), or you were… Troy. Who was PROBABLY the scariest out of them all, though he’s softened now that he was a grown man (to a degree). He’s still not someone you want to fuck with and he LOOKS like someone you wouldn’t want to fuck with, but he was better… trust.

Ain’t that funny how that worked out? The scariest and the most considerate. Together as head counselors for the Clubs’ team. Those assigned to the King of their suit, led the charge of the entire suit, even if it was a collaborative and team effort. Having leaders was really Ash’s way of giving tasks and important information to specific individuals, while it was their job to distribute it accordingly.

Luckily for Dani, only Jude was in view. Poking her head out, Jude softly smiled at her, “Hi.” Okay, Jude was not brilliant with words, but she’d ease in it, slowly but surely. This wasn’t a business pitch or whatever. She wasn’t in a lecture giving a presentation. This was camp. Opening the door and gracefully gesturing for the young girl to enter, Jude warmly encouraged, “Make yourself, um, home. Yeah, you were assigned to the King of Clubs, right?”

”Hi,” was Dani’s timid response, as well as nodding in affirmative answer to her question. She was indeed assigned to King of Clubs. At least, as first impressions go, she had received a good one, and had given an...accurate one, to sum it up in the most positive way.

“Yeah, hi,” Jimena smiled, taking a step forward, a tight grip on her bag. “I'm Jimena-” When she saw the second person who was waiting for them in the cabin, she froze.

From behind Jude came the form of the ever intimidating Troy Blake. While he wasn’t the tallest of the counselors, Troy had a certain way that he carried himself that let people know that he was the real deal. Whatever it meant when you thought of ‘the real deal,’ it didn’t matter anymore because… you’re lookin’ at the real deal. And… the real deal wasn’t very interested in the two campers in front of them, instead stepping around them and toward Kylie. What? She had a ring on her finger. They didn’t.

“TROYYYYYYY!!! JUDEYYYYY!!!” Yepp, that’s how you knew Kylie caught up with the other two as fast as they left them. Leaving Alex’s side, because technically they were here, the nice form that was Kylie darted down the open area, no longer paying attention to anyone else but her love. “I missedddddd youu!” With plenty of momentum, she jumped into his arms, wrapping her legs around her fiance’s waist lovingly, possessively. Leaning into his ear, she nipped at it and whispered, to where no one else could hear, “Daddy.” YEAH, she liked calling him DADDY. They were together for awhile. It was their thing. Jude rolled her eyes at PDA she was use to - especially since Kylie was her childhood best friend and Jude was stuck with her… all her life.

Jimena immediately looked away. She didn't seem like she was going to say anything more for a while. Alex, on the other hand, did little to no effort in hiding her disgust at the display the two counselors were putting on. Groaning in revulsion, the camper continued onward toward her cabin, finally able to detach herself from the pest she had to put up with the whole trip over. She simply needed to drop her bags off, hide her box, and find where Casper was staying. Having took in the surrounding area, the girl figured it was most likely one of the two rooms next to hers. There was no way she was going to request assistance again. She was better off relying on herself; what else was new? Honestly, it was a basic plan.

Still, two cows were preventing her from entering the cabin by blocking the entrance just standing about. Fed up with all the idiots she had to interact with in the half an hour since she had arrived at camp, Alex set her box down and hitched both straps on her shoulders closer to her body. Pressing her now free arms toward her middle as well, she squeezed in between Dani and Jimena. Spreading out her forearms, she shoved her roommates aside, punctuating the action with a curt, "Move."

Retrieving the box into her hands once more, Alex rolled her eyes and headed toward one of the bunks. Dani took this as a cue to come in and set up shop. She chose the bunk in the far corner, and avoided Troy and Kylie like the plague. She didn’t mind public shows of affection. They made her incredibly uncomfortable, but she didn’t begrudge the couple themselves any happiness. It’s not dissimilar to ignoring the people in high streets with the clipboards who just want ‘a moment of your time’. I understand that you have a job to do and good luck to you, but stay the hell away from me. To her surprise, Jimena took the bunk nearest hers. She did so quietly, acknowledging Dani with a slight smile. Then she turned away, placed her suitcase beside the bunk and started rummaging through her bag. Jimena wasn’t really looking for anything. But it made her look busy while she waited for the next thing to happen. She did look up once, though just to shoot daggers at Alex with her eyes and muttering, “Bitch.”

Luckily for Jimena, and quite frankly the entire cabin, the aforementioned bitch hadn't picked up on the comment, having been too busy taking in the room. Allowing her two roommates to take the pair of beds clustered together didn’t bother Alex in the least. On the other side of the cabin there was a lone bunk that the high maintenance teenager dropped her possessions on before storing her parcel underneath. After rummaging around in one of her bags, the vain girl took out a compact mirror to fix any physical imperfections she found. Fortunately her makeup had stayed in order and she merely had to straighten some flyaway hairs. However, that still didn’t prevent her from continuously staring at her reflection for just a bit longer than necessary.

Once satisfied with her appearance, Alex checked to make sure she had her phone (sure there might not have been signal but it was a constant presence and she needed something to take selfies with) and another rectangular shaped item in her possession before turning to head out of the cabin without a second glance at anyone else. They had wasted enough of her time, and she needed to meet somebody.

Luckily for Alex, the only counselor who would have stopped her was very, very busy with the task at hand… which was sucking Kylie’s face off with his own face. Did Troy care if anyone heard what she’d whispered in his ear? Of course not, Troy didn’t give a fuck. He had his hands all over her and he was in his own world, which had nothing to do with Aces High.

Clearing her throat, Jude debated her next course of actions. She knew Troy and Kylie would be at that for… a long time if no one intervened. That being said, one of their campers was on a warpath to get the fuck out of this cabin and head somewhere. “Um…” before Alex could get anywhere, Jude stopped her in her tracks. Tiny, little Jude blocking the doorway. She wasn’t going to take too much of her time. Alex lightly started as one of the counselors (she couldn’t remember what their name was or cared to), quite literally, stood in her way to the door. What the hell exactly was everyone’s problem? Weren’t summer camps usually supposed to promote going outside? Essentially fed up to the point she was about to forcefully shove the smaller brunette to the side and leave no matter what the consequences for physically assaulting a counselor was, wild green eyes stared down at the other with a threatening rage. Honestly, Jude was probably the least annoying person Alex had to deal with and it was unfair for the camper to take out her irritation with everyone else on her but the girl was at her boiling point.

So instead, Jude quickly handed the intimidating brunette a name tag with emergency numbers and central places to go to on the back of it, having remembered the picture of this girl’s face when Ash handed her a manila folder with all the Club campers information in it. Having her anger curbed for a moment through the distraction of an object being thrust in her direction, Alex looked down at the name tag with furrowed brows and a scowl as she listened to Jude. “We’re all going to the Pit at 8PM, I hope you’ll meet us there, and please check in with any Club counselor throughout the day so we know you’re okay. The mess hall will be open all day. Sorry your morning isn’t going as well as you would like it to... My name is Jude and if you ever need help, I’ll gladly offer a hand. For anything.” After she felt satisfied with the information she gave the girl, she stepped out the way so the woman could continue to explore the campgrounds.

Goddamn it; she was nice. Usually Alex wouldn’t have cared for what the counselors had informed her on for orientation but this was a little different. The counselor, who she now knew by Jude, had addressed how she was feeling and upset she was. Generally the girl didn’t need any support of the emotional variety from anyone besides one specific person (and even then it was rare for her to burden them with her momentary insecurities) but the gesture didn’t go unappreciated despite it making little difference to the younger girl. Was it wrong that at one point Alex would have merely retorted with a sharp, sarcastic comment, effectively throwing someone’s kindness back in their face? Instead, she merely rolled her eyes at herself as if to remind herself to play nice with others (although she didn’t really think of how it looked to the other person) and took the name tag. Despite mild resistance, thin lips opened to give a small thanks before Alex was gone.

Jude did catch sight of the gesture and simply kept her smile on. If there was one thing Jude would like to think she has gotten a good handle on, it was taking care of stubborn people, who took a lot of their frustrations out on the world. One being her boyfriend, Ender, and the other… well, he was sucking a hot redhead’s face right now. Hurriedly, Jude went to the two people that she considered her best friends, aside from Kelsey, Belle, and Ty, all counselors here, as well as Jericho, who was too busy to attend camp, and grabbed the edges of their shirts, timidly tugging at it, “Troy… Kylie… I can assure you there will be more chances to love each other and um, Kylie, you have somewhere to be.” Kylie, however, was far too distracted to respond.

Troy finally pulled away from Kylie, reluctantly. Looking over at Jude, he stared down at the much smaller woman, shaking his head. “Jude. Don’t interrupt, dammit. This is like, the one thing I have that makes me happy, don’t stop it.” He said sternly, before turning his attention back to Kylie, who was giving her Jude puppy dog eyes and pouting. She didn’t want to leaveeeeee.

“I understand, but we also have responsibilities.” Jude gently smiled at Kylie, who was sending internal messages through her stare, “I’m sure Belle will keep you busy, Ky, and as for you, Troy.” Jude paused, letting her words settle in the air.

“You have me.”

Kylie heavily sighed. There was no arguing that. They both had loved ones they were rooming with and most definitely could bare the distance. They could’ve been paired with anyone in particular but Belle demanded to be with Kylie and Troy refused to be with Melody, so in the end, it all worked out, and all her girlfriends told her this would make her more excited to be his bride. By the end of these ten weeks, she’ll be more in love with him than she already was and her wedding would be ten times better. Emotions would be flowing.

Alright, fine. Whatever. Jude had a point. Troy reluctantly sat Kylie down on her feet and gave the two girls a nod, “okay, fine. But I’m mad at you and you will be getting an earful later,” with that, Troy turned around and ducked into the cabin, walking quickly to the counselor’s room before grabbing a small suitcase, which he handed to Kylie after returning. “There’s a walkie-talkie set that’s just for us in there, some… juice for Belle and you, and one big ass package of Reese’s Fast Breaks. Don’t eat them all at once, because you only get these. Now, run along my love. Be free.”

“Okay, Mr. Punisher. I wuv you.” And with that, Kylie kissed her baby one more time, poked Jude’s nose, and then pranced off with her treats! Belle will be so happy Troy got them ‘juice’. As she walked off, she grabbed the walkie talkie strapped to her hip that all the counselors had. This would most likely come out of everyone’s walkie-talkies, since Kylie wasn’t the brightest, “BELLIEEEE! I’m comingggg! Do we have babes in our cabin? We probably do.”

Jude rubbed her forehead as Kylie’s voice still resonated in the cabin, this time via walkie talkie. Temporarily, she silenced her walkie talkie and made her way to the other campers, offering them their name tags, “Sorry about that, I’ll be better at monitoring her. Kylie isn’t all that bad, she’s actually one of the most lovable people you could ever know. She’s just… extremely expressive.”

Jude beamed at Dani and Jimena, “As I told Alex, the back of these tags have emergency information on it. Service isn’t the best here, so my suggestion is find the nearest counselor, regardless of their suit, or go to the main office, if the situation is dire, since we will be giving our campers plenty of free time to enjoy their summer. We’re a bit of an outlandish camp, since it’s fairly new, and we all believe you are old enough to not need a babysitter at all times. Ash wants you to make the most of your experience here, and hopefully in years to come, this will be a well established camp that many kids would beg their parents to attend. By the director’s door, there is a suggestion box where you can tell us your ideas to make this camp more yours than our’s. We want you to enjoy being here so whatever it takes, whether it’s building a small library for people that like to read or investing in, I don’t know, a bmx dirt track, we want this place to grow. For now, it’s at it’s bare bones and we’re focusing on you appreciating the little things. From the friends you make to watching the sunset by the lake. The little things.”

Jude’s stormy gray eyes was not clouded by lies or ill intentions. Oddly enough, she looked at them like a mother would stare at one of her children. Pure love and genuinity. Repeating her name and Troy’s, she sent them off with one final piece of advice, “I’m Jude, that’s Troy, and we’ll be your cabin counselors. Please, don’t hesitate to come to us if you need someone to talk to. It took me seventeen years to really open up to anyone, so I know how it can be, to be scared. Avoiding people like the plague. And I want you both to know.” Intentionally, Jude locked her eyes with Dani, having a feeling they were similar to a degree, “This is a safe place and we will do our damndest to help you enjoy your time here.”

Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad, maybe they wouldn’t all be twats and life would be easy and they’d have a nice summer and everything would be cool. Or, more likely, Troy would kill them all and himself in a triple murder suicide by the end of the summer. Most likely. “Yeah, class dismissed. Go have fun and play or whatever the fuck you’re looking at doing. There’s a lot of space, little supervision, and no real rules other than don’t kill each other and don’t get pregnant. Have fun. Jude, I have more juice in the cabin for us, but I need to… radio Ty about flowers.” He said waving at the two kids before he disappeared into the cabin walls.

Location: ACV Airport → Aces High Campgrounds → Front Office → Clubs Cabin
Interacting with: Kylie (@Lovely Complex)

The pamphlet had said that the best course of action was to fly into SMF, take the bus that the camp would be providing, and sit with total strangers for at least five hours. Alex had said fuck that noise.

While there was only one good reason to ride in a cramped bus for an exceedingly long time, the feisty girl had her own agenda to attend to, and unfortunately, that conflicted with the aforementioned incentive. A slight yawn escaped the brunette as she shuffled forward in the line to board her plane. The coffee she had just finished and thrown away should have been kicking in relatively soon, leaving her to take on the adventures the day had planned for her introduction to a new summer camp.

As she leaned upward to place her carry on in the compartment above her seat, the olive green cropped tank she was wearing over a peach, floral patterned bralette rose up her midriff even higher. Most people wouldn't have found it wise to be wearing such exposing clothing when they knew they would be spending at least three hours in heavily air conditioned areas with minimal movement availability.

Feeling the cool air lightly chill her skin, Alex swiftly took a thin blanket out of her bag before closing it up again and taking her seat. The frayed, white shorts she was currently wearing barely covered the minimum, much less kept her warm. Placing headphones into both ears, the girl hoped that a talker wouldn't be seated next to her and that she would be allowed to watch the sunrise in peace.

Although there was a recommended game plan to help her arrive to camp, Alex had forewent it and arrived at the ACV airport instead. Sure not every airport had the luxury of having selected airline carriers that could provide the trip to a peculiar hub, but that was just another benefit from living in Seattle.

Less than an hour after she had gotten off the plane, Alex had arrived at the Aces High Campgrounds. Stepping out of the nicely air conditioned cab she had taken, the girl immediately felt the rise of temperature hit her. Yep; definitely summer camp.

After paying the driver and tipping generously, the dark haired camper heard the crunching of gravel behind her as the car drove off. It was official now: ten weeks of camp without any interaction outside of these surroundings. Sharp chirping could be heard overhead, sunlight was peeking through the thick forest. There was a brief inhale of fresh air with the faintest undertones of moss, and then the girl was trekking her way around the grounds in search for the front office, a Nike duffel bag on each shoulder. She had arrived just slightly earlier than the time when the bus would and introductions would take place. According to the information she had been given, in these cases the camp wanted the kids to check in at the front office and receive their assigned cabin. In addition, the girl needed to pick up a package.

With an instinctual sense of direction and knack for exploring, it didn't take Alex long to find her desired location. (Okay, so maybe the various signs spread throughout helped a little.) Despite the short trip over, green eyes took in all that was offered on display. Aces High was significantly vaster than her previous summer camp, and a sense of excitement sparked within the involved camper from the amount of possible activities she could engage in.

Shortly after seeking her destination, a lightly flushed brunette entered into the front office. Rather than drop her bags for a momentary break, Alex hitched the straps higher up her shoulders to reposition them. She didn't intend to stay here long.

A bright head of red hair caught her attention quite quickly and with no one else in the cabin, the girl had no choice but to address the older female. The sound of faint thumping came from pale knuckles knocking against the wood front door.

"Hi. I'm a camper here. I arrived early and was wondering if you could help me."

When the door opened, the woman that warmly greeted the camper was none other than Kylie Warren, one of the hotter counselors at this camp, who was engaged to be married to Troy Blake when she returned home after these thrilling ten weeks of outdoor fun. Exciting. It’s been a long wait ever since he had given her a promise ring when they were juniors in highschool, but the wait would end next month and she could finally say he was her’s officially. Daddy always told her there was no need to rush, but whatever made her happy, he would support. Troy was a man who knew what he wanted and how he liked things, so before he invested money in the wedding of Kylie’s dreams, he wanted to focus on making sure when they did marry everything was ready for their family life together. His gym was completely renovated and thriving with business, they had a house waiting for them in the suburbs, and soon enough, they would fill that house with happiness and love. And children!

Her wild, red curls were tied up in a bun, her fly aways were kept down by a blue bandana, and she wore even less clothes than the camper standing in front of her. To be exact, a black bikini top and denim shorts. One that kept her perky breasts snug and covered, the other wrapped around her apple bottom tightly. There was a brief moment of silence while the counselor examined the brunette with a childish grin on. She came off as someone that could only be read once she opened her mouth, but aside from that? She simply looked like a carefree girl with a constant, mischievous smile on. Perhaps also a tad bit sexually misleading. It truly depends on how much you’re examining her and how she holds herself. But if there was one thing that held true with this girl... There was no shame. AT ALL.

“You’re sooooo gorgeous! Like, your skin looks soft… soft… like a baby’s butt! I want to touch it.” Her voice was smooth, as if you were drinking fine, red wine, or a nice glass of Bourbon. Definitely tantalizing, regardless if she meant to come off that way or not. Not one to think before she talked, she continued onward, “I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Kylie. I’ll be one of the many counselors here. If there’s a girl that can help you, that’s me!” Closing the door behind her, she confidently sauntered to her future friend, “Did you forget your bathing suit? I got you if you did. I know girls of all shapes and sizes. Plus, they gotta’ keep their men happy if you know what I mean.” Nudge. Nudge. Kylie wasn’t the brightest but she was… adorable. Dorky. Full of... life, to say the least.

Alex's first impression of the counselor was that she was a bit much for the mood she was currently in. The arrival simply wanted to get to her cabin to drop off her possessions and look for someone. At that moment, she remembered that she didn't have a way to contact the person she was intending to meet up with and would most likely have to wander around until she encountered him by chance. There wasn't enough time to get to her cabin and make it to introductions without prior knowledge of the area. If only she knew where he was going to be staying.

Green eyes sized up the redhead standing across from her once more since she had taken in Kylie's outfit. Rather than criticize and judge how revealing it was or assume the implications it said about the other girl like people would expect from her, Alex merely appreciated that it was a cute ensemble. Not as cute as hers of course, but the brunette already made sure of that the moment she entered the office. What could she say? Old habits died hard.

Seeing Kylie as an potential option to get the information she wanted, the camper decided to forgo her desire to be direct and entertain the hyperactive girl briefly. Despite having come to this decision just a moment ago, Alex still couldn't fully suppress the slight grimace that she expressed at the redhead's 'compliment.' Rather than respond verbally, a forced chuckle and a subtle inching away would have to manage to suffice. However, it didn't seem like it mattered with the way Kylie was rapidly talking. The other girl probably wouldn't have been able to get a word in.

Once the counselor brought the conversation to the topics of swimwear and boys, Alex couldn't help quirking a fine brow in amusement. She supposed she understood that sentiment.

Finally having a chance to reply, Alex said, "Thanks for the offer, but I'm good. I'll keep what you said in mind though. It's nice to meet you, I'm Alex. I was hoping if you could help me find my cabin and a package. I sent it earlier so I wouldn't have to bring it with me today. It should have arrived by now."

“Packages would be in Ash’s office, I think! Also... I’m pretty sure Ash has your assignment too… she isn’t in her office, though. I think she went by the drop off area to meet your fellow campers. Have no fear! My bestie taught me how to pick locks, so come, come. We must go into the off-limits to get you what you need.”

Turning on her heel, Kylie pranced back inside the main building and then like a motherfuckin’ spy, she hummed the pink panther theme song and tiptoed into the area where the big boss would reside in for the entire summer, along with the nurse, “Welcome to the main lobby.” she carefully whispered.

Well if there was a counselor that the camper would rely on for leniency if she got into trouble, Kylie was her bet. (The girl didn't plan on it but a sense deep down in her found it to be inevitable.) That didn't stop the zealous redhead from being regarded as a weirdo in Alex's mind, unfortunately.

Knitting her brows together, the younger rolled her eyes in response to the other's antics before crossing the short distance across the room. Without the whole sneaking act. Yeah, Alex wasn't particularly fun with certain people.

"Thanks," the brunette merely replied with, voice impassive as if she didn't care to carry on the conversation any further. However, this didn't seem to deter Kylie.

“To your left is the infirmary. I don’t know where Nurse Ivy went, but if she sees us going into Ash’s things, she’ll have a conniption and to our right is one, Ash’s office, two, a kitchenette, and three, stairs. Stairs to the Great Beyond. Or, well, probably where their beds are. Fun fact, this is the only two story building here!” By the end of her spiel, she realized her voice had rose. Instinctively, she covered her mouth, her eyes widening. Scanning her surroundings, the lobby was silent as ever, as if no one was there but them.

"Neat," was another clipped response provided by Alex. And although her tone wasn’t the most pleasant and hinted that she was not in the mood for Kylie’s games, the redhead did not seem to be fazed in the slightest or was simply way too into her own world to notice that her first impression wasn’t the most ideal.

Without verbally requesting entrance, the girl simply nodded her head toward the door with a raised eyebrow. Honestly, it was more of a courtesy than anything. After a beat, Alex stepped into the main lobby and turned to her right where Kylie had informed her where she would be able to pick up her parcel. Opening the door to the office belonging to this 'Ash,' after Kylie had opened it with a pick, Alex sought out the mail and care packages while taking note of anything that stood out. Although the warning of getting into trouble if the nurse caught her should have deterred her, the spoiled girl had merely disregarded that information.

Why should she be reprimanded for? She was getting her own package for fucks sake. The whole roundabout with verification was beyond idiotic. Sure she was a nosy person, but she didn't care enough to go through other people's mail.

Spotting a pile of boxes of different shapes and sizes in a corner, Alex inferred that was where she should start looking and determinedly made her way over, dropping her bags on the floor unceremoniously as she got close. The brunette began to sort through the various packages in search for her own. Although not in the gentlest manner, dainty hands sliding boxes away from her was a lot nicer than what she would have used to done in toppling them over by pushing them out of her way if she found that the name attached was not hers.

It didn't take too long for Alex to find her mail, and as soon as she found it, she pulled it closer to her. Inspecting to make sure it hadn't been opened either accidentally or by someone else, the camper fluidly stood in one swift motion. She took a moment to walk over to the head's desk and rifle through it for something to cut through the packaging tape. Pale fingers quickly grabbed a letter opener and the girl made her way back to her box.

Without hesitation, Alex pierced the thin barrier with her impromptu weapon and dragged the opener down the whole side of tape, effectively splitting it open. Tossing the tool to her side with little care, the brunette opened up her package. Immediately, dust and powder lifted from the box and settled on the girl's fingers, allowing her to feel the fine, coarse grains. Turning her head away for a moment to let the grime disperse, Alex checked the contents inside and was satisfied with what she saw.

Reaching in, the delicate hands rummaged around lightly, only rubbing the skin rawer. A heavy exhale left the girl as her thoughts trailed to the purpose of the package. She could remember the phone call that occurred a few weeks ago and how she had to upset the one person she wanted to the least.

A particular blond was noticeably excited about the prospect of seeing her again when they had called to see when her flight was coming in. They were probably even more thrilled at the idea of sitting next to her for five hours on a cramped bus. She was too; she really was. However, she had to disappoint the other and inform them that she wouldn't be riding with them and that she would see them at camp instead. They had taken it well enough, always being more understanding than she believed she was allowed.

All for this stupid package.

This is for him.

Despite the weak attempt to console herself, Alex still felt tremendously guilty for leaving her friend on the bus all by themselves. She would have to apologize when she saw them. You seem to do that a lot.

Shaking her head lightly at herself, the girl reminded herself that it was only another month. And then everything would be fine.

With her usual resolve back, Alex quickly closed the box again, picked up her two bags, and got up to start figuring out cabins.

Luckily for her, Kylie was already on top of it. Rummaging through a file cabinet in Aisling’s closet, she focused in on finding what her new friend wanted. The assignment list. It was in this moment that Kylie realized how… old fashioned Connor’s cousin was. Ash probably had the documents saved on her laptop but jeez, hard copies was what old people did, right? The bottom two cabinets were important documents of the campers in alphabetical order, like contact information and medical forms, the top two were other documents like Ash’s mail, bills, and personal papers for the camp.

In time, Kylie pulled out THE LIST. “I got it! Okay, let me see… the only other Alex I see here is my cousin… which is odd, since Alex is kinda a common name, I think. Looks like you’ll be a Clubs at… OH THIS IS SO EXCITING.” Kylie urgently pushed the cabinet closed and rushed to the other girl’s side, “You’ll be with my boyfriend and my bestie since like babyhood! I’m so happy for you.”

Without waiting and not giving much warning, Kylie was already rushing out the door with the hard copy list, having forgotten about the counselors meeting at the front entrance area and assuming she could potentially see her love at his cabin! Surprise him with her beautiful self. As she paced herself, she curiously asked, “Do you have any friends here? I have a ton! We’re all counselors actually.”

As the energetic redhead dashed around within a few seconds, Alex merely watched her as she ran from one end of the cabin to the other. The only response the camper gave was leaning away when Kylie rushed at her and a hard roll of her eyes as the front door swung open. If she weren't carrying a box in her hands, she would had her arms crossed in irritation.

Not being bothered with the name comment, the female Alex concentrated on the information she was given on where she would be staying. Well, half information. Although Kylie was ecstatic about it, the mean girl didn't care for the counselor's boyfriend or best friend. She hoped that they weren't too similar to the annoyance she was enduring with now.

Seeing no other option than to continue following the girl around, Alex merely walked out of the offices, not even bothering to close the doors to conceal the fact they had been in places they shouldn't. Once she caught up to Kylie, she caught the question directed at her and figured now was the most opportune time to get the information she wanted the most.

"That's awesome," the younger prefaced her response with. "I have a friend here too. Do you think you can find out where he's staying? His name's Casper."

If Kylie were paying close enough attention, she would have picked up on Alex's slight hesitation when giving her the identity. It felt weird to refer to her closest confidant by his proper name in such a casual manner. Thankfully, that unnerving feeling of formality passed quickly at the thought of seeing the aforementioned boy soon. Although it didn't show outwardly, the girl's excitement and anticipation had her heart beating just a tad quicker.

The airhead did not notice the slight hesitation. Instead, she jokingly squealed, “Casper the friendly ghost?!” After letting out a giggle, she shook her head, “Kidding. Yeah, I see him. And you’re in luck! He’s the same suit as you, boo. Sooooooooooooooooooo…. onward we go!” And with that, the oddity of a counselor led the way to the wood area, where she would drop Alex off at her cabins.

Oh, and Kylie was doing fairly well on first impressions. Well, as well as those went with the ever critical Alex. Rolling her eyes in distaste at how the other girl referenced to her friend, the camper had to hold her tongue back. Just because she knew that he hated being called that didn't mean everyone else did. Still, the brunette held the fact that she had never addressed the boy by that idiotic nickname like an accomplishment.

Exhaling heavily at the pet name Kylie had decided for her, Alex shifted so the items she were carrying didn't strain on her as much. She only had to endure the nuisance for just a short while more. As they treaded back into the dense area of trees, the green-eyed girl pondered on whether her and her friend would be staying in the same cabin. They always had in the past and that was from pure fate. Casting a glance at the blue bracelet pressed against her right wrist, Alex figured it didn't matter anyways. She would make it happen. Because she always got whatever she wanted.
