Why did the Tyranid cross the road? Because it consumed the chicken's biomass and assimilated its actions into the hive mind...

No worries. Now I finally know how you always feel :P
"You watch too much movies, Williams. No, I can't just pull a map from any old panel. I can however pull it from these guys PDA's." He points to the pile of corpses Williams made with his grenade. "If any of them still function after that blast that is." After approaching one of the bodies, he kneels down besides it and checks it's wrist. On it: A functioning personal computer. Flynn detaches a cable from his own and plugs it in. A stream of data begins appearing on Flynn's wrist. "This guy was a low ranking officer in charge of the supplies. I guess he was the one who got this team together and distributed some of these better rebreathers. Anyway, I found a layout of the ship. I'm guessing our friend is on the bridge." Flynn get's up once more and checks each hallway. At the third one, going right from the airlock, he stops. "This is the way."

Then, the hallway is suddenly bathed in a deep red and a loud noise. Alarms. Flynn looks around in a panic as he spots big hefty bulkheads lowering from the ceiling. He turns to Williams with a worried look. "We better run fast if we don't want the next 3 hours cutting away at a bulkhead. Also... I don't want to get shocked again." With that said he starts to run, following the directions on the computer, leading them straight to the bridge.
@Ronin Lotus
I know Virani is still active, cause she messaged me personally asking if I was going to post soon. So she should still be lurking around here somewhere.
Of course, now that I'm better, I'm also with this 100%. It's not that bad to continue with a small group, and like @Girlie1Bomba said, since we're not yet on board, bumping the interest check might be worth a shot.
Exams are a bitch. Will post tomorrow.
A short but at least forward moving post. Apologies that it took a week longer then I promised.
The colour of the light being emitted through ORBs eye turns darker as Tinker mentions working on him. His voice turns deeper and appears more robotic. Negative. Maintenance and engineering can only be performed by authorized personnel. Unauthorized personnel will be repelled. Then the usual light blue hue returns to the eye and the 'normal' voice returns. "I've seemed to have blanked out there for a moment. Apologies."

His eye shoots between Octavia, Tinker and eventually Jeff as he wakes up. It was fascinating to see these humans in action. He had learned that most humans would be hostile to each other, and that friendliness was far too find in this world nowadays. But these humans seemed to not care about that. Octavia had helped the wounded man without so much as a thought. And Octavia spoke of how Tinker fixed something for her. All this seemed to contradict what he had learned... Maybe there were good people left in this world. He wondered on what spectrum his creator had been.

Suddenly ORB is overcome by an unknown feeling, or rather a sudden awareness of things happening. It didn't take long for a woman bursting in and confirming the feeling. He had felt the explosion going off, the sudden surge in energy in the area. It probably was another one of his other functions. He really needed to take the time and catalogue them in the near future. But there was something else. A familiar signal coming from the location of the energy surge. There was something there trying to get his attention.

ORB looks up in surprise as Octavia asks him a question. "Yes! I mean... I would like to take a look at the explosion. I have noticed energy surges in the area and would like to see the cause. I wish to understand. But I understand if you think it is too dangerous, Octavia. Then something suddenly dawned to him. Maybe it wasn't a fair thing to say, but it probably would achieve his goals. "But I do think there will be wounded people on the location of the explosion who could use the help of an expert doctor like yourself." A new feeling arose for ORB. One he couldn't place. But it didn't feel good.
I'm back in the land of the living and will try to continue with Orb somewhere this weekend. So good news for @Virani! Woo!
A short and lighthearted post to celebrate my comeback to the land of the living!
Flynn runs his hands among the bulky airlock and frowns. "This would've been a lot easier if the control panel of this thing had been on this day. Alas." He turns to the wall and takes a plasma torch from his belt, placing it on the cold metal. The heated tip immediately reacts with the metal as it begins to cut away. With a quick few slices a small square piece of metal falls to the floor and reveals the wiring behind it. "Uuuh... one of these should do the trick." With a single finger he scratches the side of his head before starting to rummage in the many wires that control the airlock. "This should be iizzizzzzzziiz-..." A shock runs through Flynns body and he let's out a yelp before jumping back. The airlock slides open with a hiss. Flynn, still a bit in shock (badum tsssh), runs his hands through his hair, trying to make it stay down, without success.

The shaft opens up into a hallway with paths going off into each direction. What also lay in each direction, was a group of pirates with blasters, waiting for the two mercs to step out so they could blast them to pieces. The two were going to need to be clever.
Hey people. Apologies for my absence. I've been down with a bad case of the flu. Will try to post as soon as I'm better.
