Oh come now, Fetzen! There is plenty of room to grow. Just think of each little atrocity as a landmark along your road to damnation- real or otherwise! There is no shame in imagining your success.

Up your standards. Don't kidnap princesses, go after Queens! Don't burn villages, burn cities! Be the violence you want to see in the world!

It has been four years since this changed! WOW.

Anyway, I am a very chill person that gets their kicks DMing in the world of 5e dungeons and dragons. I had to leave this place of fantasy due to school and then work, but I have returned for the foreseeable future. I have divulged into the realm of Sci-fi since I was last on this site and must say that I am a big fan of all the wonderful settings available! From War hammer age of sigmar (Or 40k) to pokemon I have quite the pallet for roleplay. If you have an idea please don't be afraid to let me know! I match the post length of my partner. If you type six paragraphs, I will type six, if you one line me, I will one line you. Thats about everything you need to know. Don't be shy!

Brief background information

To whomever it may concern,
Crator island is an island in the middle of a sulfur filled sea to the west of the largest continent in this strange world. This world, to save myself and the player time, functions similarly to a generic DnD world. The major differences involve history, magic and the fact we will not be rolling dice and calling out skills. The continent of Titan is massive, earning it the name it has been given. Stretching over ten thousand miles from one coast to the other, it is one of largest continents. The main beliefs of Titan are centered around a deity known as “The Mother.” Humans are from the center and western coast of Titan. Humans are tolerant of elves and favor relations with dwarves and islanders. Their advantages lay with strategy and magical elements. Their weaknesses reside in their strengths, making them well rounded in both offensive and defensive tactics. The capital city, Camis, is the seat of the pope and great king of the Holy Empire. This King’s great great great grandfather was the man to unite the continent and go about enslaving the orcs and draconians as well as driving dragons to extinction. This took over two generations to do, leaving the church and the state at even levels of power over both the people and their own branches of the military. King Samuel Gussmen and Pope Edmond Font have positive relations and currently seek to bring the Mother’s holy light to the mountains in the north and deserts in the south.

Many different cities exist over the continent of Titan, the notable capitals of the old nations are Elswin and Qear. These two cities are of elven origin and study magic strongly. Elves find their peace in reading or learning about the many great secrets Titan has to offer. Nature and magic are things they are very comfortable with, as they enjoy longer lives than humans. This, in turn, allows them more time to master their craft. Archers and mages from the elven cities are renowned in the tournaments and games held in the monthly games. Dwarven cities, or mounds, are located within three miles of one another and are connected by rails. Dwarven trains and steam technology is legendary among the northeastern mountains, however their skepticism of magic leaves them at odds with the elven mages. The competition, however, is a friendly one. Each race attempts to out do the other as to claim that they have contributed more to the collective, creating a world absent of war. Where the mysteries of magic are left open to explore as the blessings of the divine mother encourages prosperity. Land and resources are plentiful as weather is more than stable… All of the land is at a well lasted peace.

The only places left to go are east and west.

With the invention of the airship as a joint project between elven magic, human warship, and dwarven machine, exploration was widened to far greater horizons. The oceans, previously perceived as the edge of the known world, had been crossed to the east. The new continent of Avalon had been discovered, where a new people and group of kingdoms have been discovered. This discovery has led to trade and the introduction to a people known as Avalonians. While war is present of Avalon, The holy order of paladins and the Royal sky navy have been tasked with making sure it does not travel to the lands of titan.

As the world to the east opens wide for both knowledge and trade, curiosity strikes the dwarven dune of Kolitsgraad. During the second line heir, or Samuel’s great grandfather's rule, the legend of Crator island was formed. Several large airship fleets flew west to comb the western sea. This ocean proved to be far larger than the one to their east. Not only that, but leviathans swam beneath its waves, beast well known for dragging ships beneath the surface. In this monster filled sea a legend had formed of an island survivors would find themselves upon. This island resembled a crater, however only three accounts of the island have ever been recorded. The most famous account originates from the dwarven admiral, Fulkan Wraithbeard. His seven ships had been to sky for three months, he either needed to find land to rest the engines or turn back to head for home. It was at this time he discovered what is known as the black sea. Instead of turning back and risking losing this prized chance, he pressed forward as any stubborn dwarf would.

These logs are in public view in nearly every major city library on Titan. Attached to the notes are many speculations surrounding this strange island. The journal itself was found on the sole surviving airship that crashed on the western coast of Titan. The crew had ran out of rations and starved, however the ship managed to maintain its path until a storm caused a natural depression that brought the warship down. The admiral was not among the bodies found. It is assumed that mutiny occurred after rations ran dry, however only three bodies were recovered. It is theorized that cannibalism or a quick leave of this island left the crew to be short quite a few hands.

“As far as I can see. Smoke. Smoke every where. It comes from the black waters, from the black mountains, Hell. I half think more of it forms in the damned sky! Doesn't matter, I can see land beyond the plumes.”

“This island has the strangest plants I've eer’ seen! Elf we brought along with the Auric engines says they're safe to eat. I still have more than enough rations, Ain’t putting my trust in a plant surrounded by a ring of fire.”

“Do not land on Crator Ilsands. Heeits daningerouz. *Several lines are illegible, as though the Admiral was attempting to write far quicker than his hand would allow. The only legible words among the mess are part of the mystery. “all dead” “purple diamonds” and “beach ---- safe”*

This island has sought the attention of many treasure hunters and bandits alike. Some people claim that the mother’s original church is on this island, others claim that a great secret kingdom wishes to be left in peace. Some go as far as to say that dragons roam it’s skies. Despite all speculations, only two things are certain. This dwarves sloppy handwriting earned this island it’s name, and the Purple diamond his ship returned with is capable of holding more magical energy than any gem before. If more could be recovered? They would be worth Millions to either church, state or institute.

The research that could be done,
The secrets that could be uncovered,
The adventures that could be had,
The riches that could be made,
And the fools who will surely die upon the shores of Crator Island.

Information on how this RP will function

To the player,
This Roleplay is much more open to you than you may believe. Currently I am looking to fill 4-6 slots upon the start of the RP. However, I am also looking for people who are willing to play drop in NPC’s and monsters. I would like to see as many people involved as possible, however I am aware of the dangers of an RP that grows to large. I will control most if not all of the major events on the island including the environment and weather. All of the basic GM stuff. This RP will not grow larger than 8 people including drop in characters. However, if a character dies a slot will open up. It is up the to person who died whether or not they wish to remain in the RP by creating a new character. Seeing as this is my first RP hosting on this website, I will probably try to avoid killing people. I do need to get the hang of this, after all! And it is not respectful for you to spend time making a character for me to simply throw it off of a cliff. I can promise you that no player will die without proper reason.
The start of the RP will leave everyone on the beach of this island. It is the players choice on where they come from. This world is not completely fleshed out aside from this one island. So I will be allowing the use of custom backstories should the user require one. Bandits and disasters do happen on Titan, the only thing this world really lacks is war. Avalon, however, is very familiar with war. Avalon, however, is further back in the dark era as they lack the magic and mechanics Titan has to offer. Seeing that most people do not know my world, I will use what information you detail in your character sheets to determine the way I detail. For instance, if you are an elven mage and you come across red runes that are floating above a stone in a clearing. In this stone there is a powerful looking sword, however this rune holds it in place. A player might assume that this is a trap and cast a skill or ask the DM. (that last one is really useful by the way!) I will attempt to detail to the best of my ability what your character sees different about this sword than the dwarven artificer who may assume that rune to simply be a trap.
Your view on something will be different from others in the party unless you are both familiar with the object, which means that the player should do well to communicate IRP and form developed characters. Backing up, let's assume there is a dwarven artificer and a human paladin here as well. The dwarf can see that this blade is made out of blue steel, which means that this blade is enchanted. (For the record, I am making all of this up.) The mage detects a very strong amount of magic coming from this rune, but is not skilled enough to know that most of it is in fact coming from the sword. The paladin informs both of them that the stone it is stuck through is not a white stone, but in fact a very large and very buried dragon skull.

What does the party do?

If ANY questions are to be had, PM me. I am happy to help with character creation and as per most RP you will have to approve your sheet with myself. I expect each character sheet to be no shorter than two paragraphs. Inventories are limited to what can fit on a person, depending on how you enter.

Entering.

Did your ship crash? Was your ship caught in a storm and washed through the black sea? Did your airship stall out and plummet to the waves? Did a magical experiment go awry and teleport you to this cursed beach? Where you seeking it out or did misfortune befall you?
How did your character get to the island with a lone beach. This part I am leaving to the freedom of the player to be as creative as he or she likes.

Playable races:
Drow (very rare, disliked by dwarves and will dislike dwarves. They were mainly wiped out aside the orcs and dragon like races.)
Dwarf
Human
Elf (Most subtypes, please ask.)
Orc (most people dislike this race.)*
Gnome
Dragonborn (most people dislike this race.)*

*people from Titan.

Please post here to reserve a spot, the RP will begin as soon as I finish accepting character sheets and players.

Only one spot has been taken.

Alright, It seems I have enough people! This will be the final update here, I will be making the RP sometime within the next few days as soon as I have made enough information for character creation.
See ya then, guys!
Update!
Oh yea... I forgot about that.
Just do what I do.
