So how are we going to arrange the teams now with 7 genin and another one being made by wolverbells? Two teams of four once wolv finishes with their character? Or will there be a separate squad? In that case I'd be willing to make the jonin for that squad if you and Kurisa don't want to make another jonin.

Shikkaru wondered if the architects of this building were rolling in their graves because of how many people were being cramped into the Hokage's office. He wondered if they all jumped in unison if it would be enough to bring the whole place down. Now, that would be one hell of an inauguration! Having introduced himself, he stood at attention as the other genin took their turns doing the same thing. He had to suppress a chuckle as Kanzaki stumbled over her words and almost said her name backwards. To be honest, any of them could have done that, he was sure they were all equally nervous, except for maybe Tsukai and that really quiet kid in his class, Keizo.

Shikka watched as Keizo ignored all formality as he talked to the Hokage, and felt a slight itch of irritation rise up within himself. He wanted to give the boy the benefit of doubt, mostly because he never showed much enthusiasm anyways. But seriously, if Keizo wasn't excited to be a shinobi, why was he even there? Shikkaru forced himself to let it go, it wasn't his place to judge other genin, that privilege was reserved for those of a higher rank.

Speaking of a higher rank, when the Hokage finally addressed them, Shikkaru was surprised by the man's informality. Normally it was disrespectful to address someone of such a high rank by their real name. Tesshin's bluntness also stood out to Shikka, which he kind of appreciated. Everyone in the room knew that their lives were about to become a lot more brutal. In times like this, it was either kill or be killed. In the end, what mattered was that he was willing to do anything for his village. After all, he knew exactly what he was signing up for.

Holding his forehead protector in his hands was a surreal moment for Shikkaru. And the full weight of this day finally settled down upon his shoulders, and for the first time, he realized he wasn't scared. He wouldn't allow himself to fear the future and what it may hold. Instead, he felt excitement and ambition rise up within him. He also felt surprise bubble up too, when it was announced that the Hokage himself was going to be training one of the teams of genin. Right as he was tying his headband around his left bicep, Tesshin declared that Shikkaru, Kanzaki, and Keizo were to be in his squad.

Shikka looked over at his two newly appointed squadmates and smiled. He wasn't sure how to feel about his assignment yet, mostly because he didn't know much about his new teammates. Sure, he had been cordial towards them in the academy, but hadn't really found the time to get to know either of them. And if he were to be honest, he was slightly bummed that he and Tsukai weren't assigned to the same team. But he also got fired up when he realized that they would have more opportunities to settle their friendly rivalry this way. Kanzaki seemed nice enough, if a bit anxious. And Keizo, well hopefully they would be able to warm up to each other, because Shikka had yet to see much emotion from the boy.

Regardless, he waved them both over, after hearing they were going to go on their first mission after this briefing. Everything was happening so fast! Maybe that was the point of all this, to keep them on their toes.

"Well this should be fun, eh? I know we all haven't talked much but I hope to get to know both of you better!"

He then turned the Hokage.

"Tesshin-sensei, since we're waiting, I'll take you up on that offer for tea." Calling the Hokage by his new title felt foreign, but he could get used to it in some time.

So this was it, the time had finally come. Shikkaru would be lying if he said he wasn't nervous about today, even though today was something he had been looking forward to for years. He was finally a full-fledged shinobi! Granted, he was a genin, the lowest rank, but his plans were finally coming to fruition. Standing in the waiting room, Shikka was choking on adrenaline, practically bouncing on the balls of his feet. The whole room was filled with energy, as the newly appointed genin sat there waiting for further orders. Realizing it might take a while for the adults to sort everyone out, Shikkaru took a moment to calm himself. Taking in a deep breath, he held the tension in his body, then let it go on the exhale.

Looking around for familiar faces, Shikka was able to pick a few of his acquaintances out of the crowd of kids in the room. It was nice being taller than most kids his age, made it easier to see the important stuff. Right as he spotted Tsukai, one of his academy friends, and moved to call out to him, a jonin entered the room and ordered everyone to file in to the Hokage's office. Noticing Tsukai was taking the lead, Shikkaru grunted and started pushing his way after him, no way was he going to let him take all of the spotlight!

Shikka managed to file in right behind Tsukai and made sure to give him a light punch on the shoulder.

"What's up squirt?" He whispered to Tsukai's back.

Normally, when he made fun of Tsukai's height, it lead to a friendly wrestling match or a light smack on the head, which he probably deserved. But in the presence of the Hokage, Tsukai wouldn't have that luxury, so Shikkaru made sure to send him a sly grin before bowing in acknowledgement of the Hokage. Since his friend introduced himself, Shikka figured he might as well too.

"It's an honor to be here sir, my name is Nara Shikkaru."

_{Physical Description}

Standing at 167cm and weighing around 52kg, Shikkaru's physique has the potential to turn into a solid figure as he grows. At the moment, he boasts more lean muscle and gangly limbs than anything else. With his runner's frame, Shikkaru is built for speed and stamina more than brute strength. Shikkaru's appearance fails to conform to the Nara stereotype, something he's quite content with. Instead of the classic spiky black hair pulled into a tail, Shikkaru keeps his hair short and untamed, as well as dyed blond in splotches. The hairstyle led to his siblings jokingly calling him Sukanku (Skunk) Instead of only piercing his earlobes, he pierced the cartillage in his left ear as well. Shikkaru's softer facial features contrast his sharp jaw and flat chin. His long eyelashes frame large, expressive amber eyes, and his petite nose creates a youthful look. Shikkaru's sense of fashion is nothing exquisite, and tends to be geared towards simplicity and comfortability. Depending on the weather, Shikkaru will wear anything from long sleeved shirts, to tank tops, to hoodies; and his preferred pant styles are joggers. His tool pouches are all positioned in an unorthodox manner, allowing him to use his Shadow Imitation Technique to its fullest potential.

_{Characterization and Prestige}

Shikkaru is the anomaly of the Nara clan. Being the antithesis of the Nara stereotype, Shikkaru deviates from the stoic, analytical persona that people expect him to embody. Shikkaru is a social, passionate, and ambitious youth who's sharp intellect is developed beyond most kids his age. People are normally caught off guard by Shikka's keenness because at first glance he comes off as a normal, energetic teenager. Shikkaru's smarts are more dynamic, flowing, and creative than average. He's a quick thinker who follows his gut, preferring to adhere to his instincts more than any rigid plan. While this led to academic success, it sometimes causes conflict when working in teams. He isn't arrogant or over confident (at least that's what he thinks), he just has a hard time taking things slow when they could be done quicker.

In social situations, Shikkaru tends to thrive. He can be quite the conversationalist due to his budding wit and odd sense of humor. Being the amicable guy that he is, Shikkaru does his best to be kind to everyone he meets. He's quite open-minded when it comes to meeting new people or encountering new situations. Curiosity is one of Shikkaru's defining traits. It's like an itch he can't scratch, he's always getting into things or asking questions. This makes him a great listener but can lead to trouble, especially in a group that's built upon discipline. Shikkaru has a love for academia as well, in fact, after he does his time as a shinobi, Shikka has plans to teach at the academy, or maybe even teach genin. But that's far, far into the future. For now, Shikkaru just wants to do his best at becoming a shinobi and learn as many new things as possible.

_{Personal History}

Nara Shikkaru was born and raised in Kohonagakure under two loving parents. Being the youngest of three siblings, Shikkaru has plenty of role-models to look up to. His father, Shusako, works with Kohona's Intelligence Division, and his mother, Ichika, works at a restaurant in town. His older brother, Kishi, is an Anbu Black Ops and is currently not in Kohona, while his older sister, Akira, is a teacher. Shikka loves his family, but if he were to pick favorites it would be his sister. She's the one who turned him into the energetic little book worm that he is. Shikkaru still vividly remembers Akira introducing him to Shogi, and recommending books for him to read. He still thinks of her almost like a second mother, though his mom is pretty cool too.

Shusako was the one to introduce him to the world of shinobi. Immediately, Shikka's curiosity grabbed hold and he was hooked right from the start. And so, his life became a mixture of studying and sparring. Training to fight with his father was an amazing bonding experience, and the occasional impromptu "take your son to work day" showed Shikkaru a whole separate world that he ached to be a part of. His ambition was stoked like a hot fire and he began to study in earnest.

Ichika showcased to him the civilian lifestyle of Kohonagakure, in all its glory. His mother is the owner of Saiko No Kareraisu, a popular restaurant in the village. One that boasts the best curry rice and shabu-shabu in all the Land of Fire. Now whether or not that's true is up to those who eat there, but Shikkaru has yet to find a better cook than his mother (biased much?). Ichika likes to remind Shikka that not everything has to revolve around being a ninja, and that there are other options for his future if he so chooses. Nothing is more refreshing after a hard day of training or studying than getting to cook with his mother at the restaurant, he absolutely loves the atmosphere of the place.

During his days at the academy, Shikkaru began to realize he was actually quite intelligent, at least according to his academic records. He did his best to be kind to everyone and make as many friends as possible. He figured that he'd be working with most of them in the future, might as well get acquainted as soon as possible. Even if he didn't particularly like someone, he was mature about it, and chose to not let his irritation or frustration get the best of him. Obviously, he wasn't perfect at that, but it's the thought that counts right? Like any teenager, Shikkaru is prone to acting upon his emotions, which can sometimes lead to rash decisions. Pride is also something that Shikka struggles with, especially when it comes to academics. He enjoys being good at something he puts his mind to, and sometimes inadvertently brags or even gets frustrated if he fails at it. At the end of the day, he only has one life to live. He plans on living it to the fullest.

Keen Intellect: Shikkaru is wildly bright for his age, despite how he may appear to those who don't pay attention. He's quick thinking and fast acting. Though his methods of displaying his intelligence outside of scholarly pursuits may be unorthodox, Shikkaru will surprise those who underestimate him.

Tanto User: Shikkaru's tantos are sheathed horizontally on his lower back, and they are his preferred weapon of choice. He'll normally use them and forgo kunai in close quarters situations. They're placed the way they are so that he can draw them after successfully completing his Shadow Paralysis Jutsu. He's become quite the tanto combatant, preferring to strike with blades than engage in taijutsu fights. He excels at this fighting style because he's quicker than he is strong.

Chakra Control: Shikka has above average chakra control, meaning he wastes less chakra while performing jutsu, though his chakra pool is only average, meaning he can't continuously pump out jutsu like a machine. He'll continue practicing his control in an attempt to increase the duration of his paralysis jutsu, which get weaker after continuous use.

Academics: Shikkaru finds most things he studies to be easy to follow and simple to memorize. He has outstanding test scores and he gets even more enthralled if he's studying something he's interested in.

Shadow Barrier Technique
After performing the necessary hand seals, Shikkaru's shadow becomes solid and rises up from the ground, resembling a wall around Shikkaru's height. This barrier is an opaque black color, and can deflect projectiles or one D rank or lower ninjutsu technique before shattering. Once the barrier is erected, it becomes stationary, if Shikkaru wished to reposition the barrier, he would have to disperse the technique and perform the hand seals again.

Well, speaking of Anbu. Shikka's brother is Anbu, maybe at some point I'll write up a sheet for him. I created Shikka a few months ago so I'm lucky enough to have his whole family drawn out, so I can totally bring them in the RP as NPCs if necessary too.

Edit: Since all the characters are genin, I'm gonna assume they all went to the academy together. Maybe they all didn't talk but it'd be weird if they all didn't really know each other, so if anyone wants to discuss friendships or rivalries, feel free to @mention or PM me.
