Alphys blinked her eyes behind her glasses as light flooded the room. "Sure thing, Undyne," she said. She gathered up her courage and stepped outside. The street was lined with nice-looking human houses of the sort she used to only see in Snowdin and anime; Alphys liked living here much better than in the solitary Hotland lab. They walked over to New Snowdin, where they were met with a strange sight: a tall human girl with mismatching eyes swinging an ax at Papyrus and Sans. The two were sending a barrage of bones at her while she bounced them off her ax and occasionally hurled her weapon at Papyrus. Alphys winced in sympathy as it hit him with the handle. She remembered watching Undyne spar with Papyrus, but who was that ax-wielding child? "W- what are you doing?" she asked. Then she looked over at Undyne, wondering how she would react to the former sentries sparring with a human girl.
Sounds great. Also, I started listening to "Undertale" the song while writing, and realized that it'd fit well while reading too. There's now a link to the song at the point when I imagine it should start playing. Good/bad?
Chara looked up at the large monster, defensive and uncertain. Why were these people going to so much trouble for the likes of them? Reluctantly, they let go of Asriel and took his dad's hand. Asgore beamed at them encouragingly, and led them through a hallway in the opposite direction that Toriel had gone, to a small room with two beds. They sat down on one of them. It was warm and soft; they felt that they could lay down there and never get up.

"How are you feeling? What's your name?" Asriel's dad asked gently.

Chara turned their face away from him, uncomfortable with his soft gaze. "Fine," they said sullenly. "I'm Chara."

Asriel's mom bustled in, carrying a plate of pie. "You are not fine, small one. Who did this to you? You will get an apology." She then gave the pie to Chara. "Please, eat this. It will help you."

Chara looked hesitantly at the pie. They weren't supposed to take food from strangers - it could be drugged or poisoned. Nonetheless, they felt curiously inclined to do just as Asriel had said, and trust this odd family of monsters. Hesitantly, they took a bite of the pie. Warm butterscotch and sweet cinnamon exploded on their tongue - it was the best pie they'd ever tasted. Chara wolfed the slice down, then looked up guiltily, expecting to be reprimanded, but saw nothing except smiles on everyone's faces. They could feel all their injuries healing as they regained full health.

They broke. "I can't understand. Why are you being so nice to me?" they cried. Chara buried their face in the sleeves of their striped shirt, small sobbing noises starting to come from their throat involuntarily. Asgore shifted over to hug them, and Toriel knelt beside the bed to do the same.

"There, there, my child. You are safe now," Toriel said soothingly, rubbing their back.

Asgore added, "Everything is going to be alright."
Yeah, an appearance from Toriel or Asgore would probably help. In hindsight, we probably should've figured out NPCs earlier. Do you want us to share control of NPCs as needed for the story, or do you want to be responsible for half the NPCs, and I get the other half?
"Coming," Brooke responds. She rises from her seat and heads out of the gym, following the other children through the door. Brooke looks around at her fellow residents, many of whom would be better termed teenagers than children. Were they all going to learn the same subjects together?

Megalotrousle is the coolest thing ever. It's almost as cool as Papyrus. Have a like. Have all the likes.

Cool, thanks! I've never used Titanpad before (I feel like a newbie at everything) but I'd be open to that if you prefer it. Or you could PM me with Niel's response and we can go from there.
