Oldfucks are not a thing, so can we not?

Also, you Rainbow pony. I'm honestly confused. Why can't we joke about cancer when you can make offhanded jokey comments about rape, ear or otherwise. Usually, when people are so sensitive to something as benign (puns are how I live, I can't help it) as cancer, a disease that affects people indiscriminately and has become a commonplace occurrence, they usually can't even abide the r-a-p-e word, as it, y'know, is a violent crime that gets people's panties in a twist (completely understandably because of the longterm effects and social stigma, but I just have to keep making tasteless puns).
Nobody said it.

So I will be the one to take up the responsibility

I feel like this was slowly sinking towards the bottom of the list, so I'll just bump it up a bit.

Our first story arc was going to be about the slowly-being-corrupted yokai, yes?
How'd you find it?

With GPS.

"The Delinquent"

Name: Ogata Yunosuke
Age: 18
Rank: C

Bio: Originally a country boy, Yunosuke moved across Japan as he grew up, living in several small rural towns before settling in Tokyo, where the bright lights and urban temptations proved to be a huge distraction for the highschool aged boy. Back in the sticks, he was known for being a hothead punk who was much too scrawny to finish any of the fights his mouth managed to get him into. He emulated the gunslingers and noir heroes of his favorite films but failed to deliver on both the charisma and skill. Where they got witty one-liners, he had a mouthful of marbles and a vocabulary that was 80% obscenities and empty threats. Always the instigator, he would pick fights just to keep himself amused.

He mellowed out some in Tokyo, if only because that shit can get you killed in the city, but he retains all the most endearing qualities of a delinquent. Despite a bad attitude and some misplaced aggressions, Yunosuke does have some redeeming qualities, such as a code of honor that makes sense to nobody but him (though it keeps him out of doing anything truly idiotic) and a charitable nature.

As a human with a strange ability, he was recruited to fight alongside a yokai in the constant struggle against berserks.

Powers/Abilities: Able to manipulate smokes and gasses, Yunosuke found that he can also turn himself into a gaseous state, though that ability is still vastly untested and unstable. He can transform individual body parts with no issue, but finds full-body conversion quite difficult. He carries a few mixtures with him to be used in combat situations.

"The Natural"

Name: Tsuga Teijo
Age: 19
Rank: B

Bio: A yokai with impeccable manners and expensive taste, Teijo didn't seem like he would be the type to excel in combat, and for the most part that stands true. His talent for creating beasts by transforming his shadow, however, has its fair share of uses and he has thus managed to prove of worth to the Hunters.

If he doesn't have to use brute force, he won't, as he prefers creating smaller creatures such as birds because of their myriad uses. He is masterful when it comes to diplomacy, and could be well suited to tackle a job outside of bloodying up berserks, but this is the job he's chosen for himself.

Teijo often gives off an air of entitlement, as the Tsuga clan is an old and notable family, although they are hardly popular. Centuries back, Tsugas helped protect their fellow yokai from berserks and were rewarded handsomely for their efforts. Their descendants rarely showed such courage and most coasted by on their family name and inherited estates. Teijo wants to prove his clan can be heroic, but he can't shake a certain sense of provincal behavior that comes along with an upbringing in higher society.

Powers/Abilities: Able to transform his own shadow into any manner of animal, but the size of his shadow limits the size of the beast at the moment.

"The Bouncer"

Name: Akechi Shige
Age: 21
Rank: B

Bio: Shige was born into a family that embraces tradition and works hard to preserve it. Her mother and father inherited a kendo dojo that has been in their family for generations, and her parents and brother busied themselves with the ancient art and maintaining the years of history held within its halls. She, however, had no talent or patience for the form. Any match she won was thanks to her intimidating build and a desire to beat her opponent into submission, rather than relying on finesse. Eventually, Shige found herself mixed up with some of the gangs around the poorer areas of the city and became part of the muscle for the small-time G-Gang, frequently wielding a baseball bat or similar object in order to keep the group's enemies in line. In truth, she didn't care for this type of violence, which she considered aimless.

She wanted to feel like she was working towards something, and it was then that the idea of joining with a yokai to pummel a harmful creature seemed like a good idea.

Powers/Abilities: She hits things. Hard. Melee and blunt weapons champ.
I expect to have an OOC for this shortly. I was out of town for a bit, but I'm back and ready to work now.
There's a lot of lore and world info already established for this idea, but I'll present it fairly barebones just for the interest check's purpose. Long story short, there's gonna be space pirates, space samurai, some mech options, a corrupt megacorp, and an epic and seemingly unwinnable struggle that seems to be a loss no matter how it's decided:

Refugees from the crumbling order of The Iron Dawn have fled the planet of Amaunet IV, their stronghold where they base their operations and maintain their greatest presence. The group shares ties with the Terran tradition of samurai warfare, preferring bladed weapons, melee combat, and blunt instruments rather than the much more popular ranged weapons that have become prevalent throughout the galaxy. These warriors encountered a dangerous and mysterious group known as the Forseid. As they try to find new ground to regroup and plan a counterattack, they find their ship being chased by a band of pirates, and the two ships eventually collide with a space anomaly, which deposits both crews on a planet they have never seen before.

This planet, Pelior, in the Crugant star system, stands in between two powerful forces at war. One group, the same Forseid who chased the Iron Dawn from their home, appears to have a powerful army and they strive to bring chaos to the cosmos, hoping to coax an ancient god out of hiding. The force that stands in their way, Adventus, is a huge megacorporation with the most advanced tech and a seemingly infinite number of men and women to throw at any problem. However, their help comes at a great cost, and Adventus has proven that it only helps those who can help them expand, and they plan to take control of Pelior once the Forseid are beaten back. Pelior is one of the only free planets left in the star system, the others already being claimed by Adventus and any world unlucky enough to have succumbed to a Forseid attack is now nothing but dust.

The remnants of the Iron Order, as well as the pirates they collided with, are now faced with a choice. With no idea how to return home, and ominous indications that this large-scale conflict may have destroyed anything they once called familiar, they must decide whether they wish to fight in this war for Pelior and what can be done. Siding with Adventus would bring them riches and technology, as well as securing a high rank in the impending new world order. Choosing the chaotic Forseid might be the only way to leave this stand-off alive. And, of course, trying to fight them both would just be suicidal, right? As the group uncovers more about the Forseid, they begin to discover that their incredible fighting prowess might not be all natural, and mysterious secrets surrounding the Crugant system emerge.
