This is asking for an RP in which the Southend-on-Sea furniture bots battle for control with the Korean casino bots, in an ultimate struggle that will destroy the world.

Suddenly building some kind of wall doesn't seem like a bad idea. Vote Frengo 2016 for RPG President.

Is it sad that I bought a 10yo Netbook from Ebay with the sole intent of using it just to write my RP posts?

Sea Gorillas are not a "personal" issue, and affect the entirety of mankind. It's morons like you that prevent social and cultural progress.

Okay, so now we have a "Promethean Calandar", I present to you, the Prometheans!

The Prometheans will be a significant NPC entity upon the RP's start; they were the first race to establish a far reaching Empire (thus enabling their culture to spread to all corners of the continent), but who have suffered terribly at the hands of a reccurent plague that targets only the female side of their population.

Their Empire has been reduced to a chunk of land with three cities, and they will definitely be on a permanent defence.

At the evolution phase's start, players will be free to crush them - or try to save them, if their ancient species possessed such compassion!?

This also serves as an example entry sheet.

You know...

It could be a pointless little "mini-game," but you could say that whoever "wins" the first era (makes the biggest gains in the actual first era) - whether that be diplomatically or culturally or militarily - gets to decide what becomes the most commonly used dating system at that point, much like how A.D. and B.C. are the most common ones used now and they revolve around the birth of Jesus. Until then, I'd just say "one hundred years from the dawn of civilization" or something.

I'm feeling silly for suggesting that, but little things like that could be much cooler "rewards" for "winning" than anything else.

TAKE A BREAK.

I do like this idea, but that pesky Sovereign has once again countered idealism with the voice of reason!

If I start allotting imaginary trophies to people, it'll increase the chances of but-hurt syndrome occurring - for which there is no known cure.

So what I'll do, is provide a universal calendar for anyone to use - but allow for players to invent their own, if they wanna be special and hip. I doubt the calendar will play a significant role in posts, but from time to time we might need it to keep everyone in roughly the same step.

I'll use a random generator (man I'm lazy!) and put it up for all to see.

Alright peeps, we're nearing completion.

However, there is little doubt in my mind that I have missed something out; I can foresee myself having to make many adjustments to correct problems that may at some point arise.

At the moment, I'm thinking Date. How do we date things? Should I go and find a Calendar generator, or allow for different civs to use their own calendars? Maybe the middle ground - provide a universal calendar, but allow for a civ to make their own. Then again, maybe its something that should be developed at a later date? And we should just rely on the four seasons for now?

HMmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

But yeah, the entry sheets are in their final draft form. I've left history out for obvious reasons, and have been seeking only the kind of information that gives a good idea of the shape your civ is taking. Does it look like I've missed something out?

Having been at it hard for 2 hours, I think I need to step away for a bit.

Anyway, anything you want to see included or explained, give a shout out could ya? (I haven't forgotten about the key, will get to that after a quick break)
Alright, so I'll make TinyPic copies available to all those who need them, as and when I update the RP's map. The Imgur version will be used for those of us who are not constrained by the Chinese security services or Mussolini's School Filter.

@Shorticus Nice, now I've got a gigantic ego. I might go on tumblr later and make outrageous statements to upset the masses.

Okay, so now now the map thing is kinda sorted, I'm going to move onto the sheets, and at some point, add a key! :D

EDIT: TinyPic version of map added. Frengo does not discriminate.

My issue is that I'm actually using a school laptop that has decided to block all the fun stuff and imgur is one of them because it has "adult content" (not that I'm doubting it doesn't kek). But yeah, even if I put it into the address bar, the only image I'd be able to see is the tiny one that google provides when you search by image.

I see.

Errr, would it perhaps be best for me to email the map to you? Along with any future maps that reflect the changing of borders?

Or if that's too dodgy (stranger danger!!), let me try TinyPic.

Alright, here goes:

EDIT: Tad too small, unless you think you can work with it.

I like this map.

I've never had a problem with IMGUR myself, but then the only website I hate for images is Photobucket. Photobucket is the absolute devil.

I see symbols for mountains, forests, hills, another kind of forest... I'm assuming the flat lines are plains? And what are the little series of lines that are arrayed like a rising sun?

Actually, I think the rising suns are plains? Looks like grass to me? And the little lines are um, marshes?

I'll attach a key when I get a minute, to allay any confusion.

Yeys. My only actual issue with the OP is that I can't see imgur links for the map for some reason, only tinypic works for me.

Does TinyPic auto resize images? I seem to remember it messing me around in the past. The map is 4000 pixels, so it's quite big, and you'll want to view it full size to see all those pre-generated details that I love so much.

If TinyPic should be able to host it, I'll switch to it.

Anyone else having problems with my Imgur shiz?
<Snipped quote by Frengo>

My current question is if I'm allowed to join :3

Of course!

That's at least a couple of NRP veterans I seem to have gained, which is heartening - it means I'm going in the right direction.

Just so you all know, I've been crafting the RP on the first post of this thread. What you see there, is what the finished product will be.

Scream questions or nay-say me - or forever hold your peace :D
Eh, I'm not so sure about the civilization having just gone from hunter-gatherer lifestyles to settled ones. I think we should start off more like in the Bronze Age, with our cities just starting to sort of come to prominence. I mean, I'm not saying everything needs to be totally accurate, but the dawn of agriculture and the iron age were several thousands of years apart.

And yet again Sovereign raises another good point: time frame.

Human civilisation has been around for what? 6000 or so years?

And look how far we've come; Christ almighty. Things were real sluggish for the first part, and only in the last couple of thousand years have we really been achieving anything - and then even that's debatable.

So if we follow Earth's chronology of events, it would take several Evolution Phases to really get anywhere as far as technology is considered. This could be solvable by making the evolution phase last a thousand years - but that's a huge, huge leap.

So perhaps we can start in the Bronze Age, for as Wiki states:

"The Bronze Age is a time period characterized by the use of bronze, proto-writing, and other early features of urban civilization. The Bronze Age is the second principal period of the three-age Stone-Bronze-Iron system, as proposed in modern times by Christian Jürgensen Thomsen, for classifying and studying ancient societies."
