Current Wont be around today, too busy dying from this massive hang over. Sorry guys!

This is asking for an RP in which the Southend-on-Sea furniture bots battle for control with the Korean casino bots, in an ultimate struggle that will destroy the world.

Suddenly building some kind of wall doesn't seem like a bad idea. Vote Frengo 2016 for RPG President.

Is it sad that I bought a 10yo Netbook from Ebay with the sole intent of using it just to write my RP posts?

Sea Gorillas are not a "personal" issue, and affect the entirety of mankind. It's morons like you that prevent social and cultural progress.

Right, I think I've got it.

Ignore the celestial events if you want, they're an additional feature.

Look alright?

EDIT: Duplicated a weekday; fixed.

SECOND EDIT: Errr, here's a key - from what I can gather.

( + ) Full moon/anus

(] Half moon <---- thata way

[) Half moon thisa way ------->

( Quater mooon <-----

) Quater moon --------->

THIRD EDIT: Aqiel Cycle = 10, Zerach Cycle = 26
@Frengo, that works for me. Though, uh, when can I expect you to get back to me on my question about the moons?

You and your bloody moons!

Lol, I'll crack on with that right now. Expect a response shortly.
Just changed the completion date to Thursday 4pm GMT 0, as that's when I'll be in from work to crunch the numbers.
@epicberet The Trolls seem well balanced as far as I'm concerned. Accepted, please move them to the character's tab so that I can complete the Current Nations list.

On the matter of the turn order...

@neogreggory@Sigma@ClocktowerEchos@TheSovereignGrave@ZB1996@Shorticus@SavOrhchid

It seems apparent to me that the turn order is... incompatible with the amount of players we have, when one takes into account the various time zones and life-related factors at play. A single turn could take a long time, and though it would be more orderly, it could mean players having to wait a great deal of time before posting - opening up the potential for lack of interest through lack of interaction.

As of now, all players who have yet to post their first century, are free to do so.

The First Century must be complete, by 16:00 GMT 0 on Thursday the 25th.

If you are unable to reach this deadline for whatever reason, then you can escape expulsion by simply reaching out to me - either through the OOC, or via PM. In this case, you will merge the century you missed, with the nearest one you're available for. At present, this seems to me to be the best way for resolving such issues.

My posts will always denote the beginning of a new century in an Evolution Phase.

If you have any questions or concerns, now is the time to voice them.
Is it too late to join this?

Errr, we're a little crowded in here at the moment buddy. The way we're going, a turn is going to take a whole week to resolve.

Speaking of turns, you guys think it would be better if I did away with the turn order? And just let everyone post, and then move to the second century once everyone's had a go? Not knocking anyone for taking too long or what have you, but I greatly overestimated the fluidity of the situation.

Or are we happy with this chill pace? I haven't got an opinion, I'm just ensuring all my little players are as happy as can be

As for everything else I need to answer/review: Going to eat first, take a few mins to chill, and then I'll bang out some responses.

EDIT: Maybe put a deadline, like "First century to be completed by 26th, absent players will be removed" or something to that affect, with bigger words and more poetry.
@epicberet Gonna give you a provisional "Yes, welcome aboard" for now, because there will be time to admit you during this turn phase. However, I haven't got the time to read over your app at present (laying in bed, preparing for sleep!). Whatever happens, I'll imagine you'll be fine.

@TheSovereignGrave Yeah, It'll have to be tomorrow bud, sorry about that. The annoying thing is that the Calender Generator gave me all that information - why I didn't just save it all is beyond me; a rare moment of derpy derpy derp I'm afraid. Still, should be fixable once I get home from work tomorrow.

Oh hey Frengo, I got a question I need answering for my calendar. How long do each of the moons take to complete full "cycle" through their phases?

I had this information, and then did away with it because I thought no one would care.

*Face palms*

In hind sight, that was a terrible decision on so many levels that it has probably broken the space time continuum IRL.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, you're going to have to bear on me with that, because I'll need to recreate the calandar and what have you. Going out with the Mrs for a meal in a mo, so I wont get around to it until later tonight or tomorrow.
Damn, I'm too busy at the moment to commit, but if I get some freedom at a later date, I'll be here like a shot.

This game ate me up and shat me out, the scenarios would normally go like this:

The aliens are hiding in some shed, so I encircle the structure, send up four guys to the doors. They enter in typical SWAT fashion, all guns blazing EXCEPT that the aliens fire first, kill the first guy, send the second guy into a fearsome rage, who then shoots his buddy in the face. Before I know it, my organised assault had turned into chaos.

Copy and paste that about a dozen times, and eventually I got fed up.

Was about a year or two ago though, things might've gotten easier since... and I'm sure there was a knack to it... but meh.

Solid idea, fun as Hell, but far too harsh for little ole me.

ANYWAY, perhaps put a player in charge of a squad? List a number of situations, let players take them head on solo or with other squads backing them up?

To elaborate:

"There have been a series of Xeno Incursions, commanders, and here are those we have deemed to be priority matters. Engage at will."

^ Just a rough concept of what I meant.
@Sigma You're up bud, just so's ya know.
Woohoo! Let's get this party started!

I do wonder about using a game to determine battles if people can't agree on an outcome though. How do you account for some races being just superior in a purely physical sense? Or technology levels or myriad other things?

I'll marry things as best I can, in the event that I am asked to resolve conflicts.

It will not be perfect, but it will be more dramatic and fairer than a simple coin toss.

A simple scenario though, for example, would be if my Dwarves were invaded by a fully fledged Promethean army.

Dwarves = Citizen soldiers with no real training, and ill-suited to open ground combat where their size puts them at a disadvantage. However, numbers are on their side.

Up against a Promeathean war band, of hardened and trained warriors.

It might translate as:

10 Roman Early Cohorts vs 20 Greek Militia Hopilites.

I'd test the battle first, to ensure things look kinda right (the other army doesn't rout within a few seconds)

And then I'd have at it.

The casualties sustained on both sides would be computed into a percentage, which would then be given unto the RP. SOOOOO:

10,000 Dwarf Citizen Soldiers vs

5,000 Promethean Warriors

Dwarfs = 78% Casualties, ending rout

Promethean = 60% casualties, victors.

I could then be like "The Dwarf Army suffered grievous casualties, forcing them into a disastrous rout; meanwhile the Prometheans themselves, though victorious, sustained losses they could ill afford to replace." Which would translate into a minor Promethean victory, but perhaps a strategical defeat.
